Omid Scobie's new book

Heads up, Omid is back on the PR trail...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/harry-meghan-author-omid-scobie-31362434

BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

Harry and Meghan's biographer calls King Charles 'unpopular' in scathing jibe

Omid Scobie's new 'explosive' book Endgame will be published on November 28 - and its description on Amazon says the author investigates the current state of the British monarchy

the wisdom of the palace approach - keep absolutely schtum beyond a few bland mantras- is really becoming clear now. When all the emotion is coming from one side, and is largely the same old gripes, it becomes wearing and distasteful and suspect.

Bookworm1111 · 27/11/2023 06:43

Apparently the book contains details of letters exchanged by MM and the King. If she really didn’t cooperate with the book, presumably she’ll be suing Scobie for privacy invasion like she did the DM over her dad’s letter? 👀

Quite.

Vespanest · 27/11/2023 07:28

it does feel that if you can’t rattle the men then go after the women. Camilla in Spare and Kate in Endgame. The hypocrisy on Twitter, bots or delusional weirdo’s with monikers of Princess Diana the previous Princess of wales mocking the current Princess of Wales.

Newkidintow · 27/11/2023 07:34

Someone really has it in for the women, that’s for sure .

tattychicken · 27/11/2023 08:07

By attacking the women maybe they're hoping to provoke a reaction from PW and KC?

Mylovelygreendress · 27/11/2023 08:14

Some of William’s friends have spoken out . I am thinking that Catherine’s Uncle Gary must be straining at the leash to say something.

A very good point but I won’t hold my breath .

Indeed. Imagine publishing details of private letters....

I've seen Diana called "the REAL Princess of Wales" numerous times recently. There does seem to be some kind of issue between Meghan and Kate. At the walkabout after QE2 died, Kate looked like she was going to clobber her at one point and Meghan looked frightened.

Maireas · 27/11/2023 08:26

@FinallyFinalGirl - I've never seen anyone with a less threatening aura than Kate. Clobbering not on the agenda. She looked suitably low key at the entire event. Meghan? She was meeting British crowds for the first time since she and her husband developed their RF trashing career. She may well have looked anxious.

Again, further proof that they cooperated with the book. The Palace would never release personal correspondence so it had to come from the Montecito camp.

Very unlikely he is in the know about anything at all.

Bookworm1111 · 27/11/2023 08:31

@FinallyFinalGirl I cannot think of someone less likely to look like they'd clobber someone on a public walkabout. If Meghan looked frightened, it was probably because she was scared the crowd might say something unsavoury.

I agree about Kate..it was just that one moment where she stepped forward towards Meghan and looked daggers at her.

Edited

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with Kate and think she's probably a very nice woman. It was just one moment between them where she had a look of utter disdain and she stepped forward at the same time so it looked a little menacing.

I have no beef with Meghan with either tbh.

Newkidintow · 27/11/2023 08:41

I think Kates body language spoke volumes that day.

Flamingbow · 27/11/2023 08:42

It's just all a bit pathetic isn't it. I suspect Kate is being targeted to bait William and then there'll be criticisms of oh look he won't even defend his wife publicly; using their ethos of not commenting against them. I was interested to see what H&M would do when they left the RF- but all they've done is lie, be hypocrites (moaning about press intrusion when writing about private moments with their family), and be bitter. So much potential to capitalise on their 'fame' and follow projects they were passionate about, but instead we get this.

Janiie · 27/11/2023 08:45

'At the walkabout after QE2 died, Kate looked like she was going to clobber her at one point and Meghan looked frightened.'

'Clobber her' Grin. Good on her for managing to look completely at ease, obviously putting the solemnity of the situation first rather than the dramalama 'look at us pair' also in attendance

The Sussexes, as always, looked like they were performing. Someone should tell them the Netflix reality show finished a while ago.

Newkidintow · 27/11/2023 09:03

Are they really passionate about anything but their own self aggrandisement though? Harry is undoubtedly committed to projects to do with the military but the philanthropy aspect seems to be a lot of hot air when it comes to true commitment. It’s token gestures and photo ops all the way. Commitment to climate change seems a matter of lip service only as they continue to take private jets and live in a huge eco unfriendly house. They continue to drive huge cars which aren’t electric. They just have no substance as people. Instead of spending all their time raking over grievances they could actually do something useful.

FishBowlSwimmer · 27/11/2023 09:08

Clearly H&M are holding on to a lot of resentment. It's obvious to most people that they're expectations were completely unrealistic. No one leaves their job and keeps the free house, car, travel, security and monetary rewards for said job, yet somehow they think it's unfair that they did not? It's also possible that given the families personal wealth that they could have been financially supported still, but why would they expect support (financially and emotionally) from people who they openly criticise?

The criticism of Kate is pure petty jealousy, although I'm sure Harry feels (quite wrongly) betrayed because Kate wasn't besties with Meghan (when they have very little in common). Meghan I feel has always been competitive with other women and finally met her match in Kate, because Kate won't be bullied manipulated or charmed into doing Meghan's bidding and that's not something she's come across too often, I suspect.

Spoilt, self-important, conceited couple who seriously think that everything should revolve around them and only them.

As for Omid, he's not done himself any favours with this book. It's not journalism, it doesn't even pretend to be. His credibility as a writer is pretty much non existent after this, if he ever had any to begin with that is.

themessygarden · 27/11/2023 09:09

So Meghan made a personal phone call to him to check in on him !

I think he really wants people to know they have a very personal alliance and he wants people to know Meghan, Harry or both of them, were again involved in this new book.

I wonder if he has touched on the fact that all three of them were found out to have lied about their collaboration on Finding Freedom.

She went up in my estimation. So many women would have rolled over and been nice for the sake of family peace and quiet, especially in those circumstances.

TheCrystalPalace · 27/11/2023 09:18

The flower walkabout wasn't a Hollywood photo-op publicity appearance. It was a solemn occasion and an opportunity to acknowledge and thank members of the public for their condolences and support. Of course Kate was reserved and it was not the time for her to be addressing the media's insatiable appetite for gossip as to the state of her relationship with Meghan. She got out of the car and headed straight to do the job in hand.

FinallyFinalGirl · 27/11/2023 09:32

"She went up in my estimation. So many women would have rolled over and been nice for the sake of family peace and quiet, especially in those circumstances."

I was impressed too. She walked out of that car like a boss. I read somewhere ages ago from someone acquainted with her that she has a core of steel. I don't doubt it.

She actually inspired me to not be such a drip around people who have hurt me.
