Omid Scobie's new book

Heads up, Omid is back on the PR trail...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/harry-meghan-author-omid-scobie-31362434

BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

Harry and Meghan's biographer calls King Charles 'unpopular' in scathing jibe

Omid Scobie's new 'explosive' book Endgame will be published on November 28 - and its description on Amazon says the author investigates the current state of the British monarchy

Packing skills!!!

I wonder how he found out about that?

Edited

I'm getting Mr Collins and Lady Catherine De Burgh vibes from that. Surely, had Meghan learned to play the piano, she would have been a true proficient....

pilates · 26/11/2023 19:18

What’s the packing skills?

WTAF

“Toni Morrison famously said, “If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.” So I did! It’s been the toughest work of my career but, finally, in four weeks, ENDGAME will cover the royal story like NEVER before.”

This guy… no words.

Omg he's quoting Toni Morrison. I have no words.

They have lumbered themselves with him.
If they ditch him, he will turn on them.

That's probably not far from the truth, given his whining about being kept away from the rest of them - though of course he could just go on making things up

I was going to suggest that if H&M really haven't helped Scobie this time they could simply ignore the freak, but maybe it's a bit late for that

Mylovelygreendress · 26/11/2023 19:36

As someone else said, he will have kept every text , every email etc etc so H and M will have to tread warily.,

LadyMuckingabout · 26/11/2023 19:44

I agree. Some posters were asking why didn’t H&M come out and say they hadn’t collaborated with Omid Scobie - but he must have absolutely tonnes of stuff on them, including info from his ex, Marcus Anderson.

I think H&M supporters are in the cleftest of cleft sticks, so are steering clear of the Endgame saga.

I assume it's one of those mundane things elevated into some sort of science by influencers. You know, perfect capsule wardrobe for your jet set weekend away with the gang type thing.

Scobie is on Twitter complaining about being misquoted, mis translated etc
Comments turned off !

It's always somebody else's fault. Same as with Harry and Meghan. They are all a bit of a laughing stock now.

I do wonder if she's spending time with the children during their formative years in order to avoid problems later on. It does seem as if both she and William wisely want to focus on this while they can, to create a happy family life.
We don't know when they'll have to step up more, or when William's reign will begin, but until then, maybe it's wise to invest in a positive start for the children.

There is also the fact that they will never retire, they'll have to do what the Queen did until they can't stand up anymore. So why not try to maximise their time in their children's formative years? It's very obvious that Charles missed out on parental love and care and it's affected him badly. So did Diana. They have learned a lesson from that.

I have been amused to learn that, following the publication of extracts of Endgame n France, “Meghan’s cheerleader” (as Omid has been referred to) is translated as “La Pom Pom Girl de Meghan”.

😂😂Excellent, guess that explains the tantrum about the translation then.

And agreed for once 😁

I'm still waiting for the notoriously litigious couple's vengeful defamation lawsuits to descend on Tom Bower...

No doubt there are many eyes on this thread, though.

“La Pom Pom Girl de Meghan”

🤣hilarious

AliceOlive · 26/11/2023 22:10

The NYTimes review has been published. Based on the title and sub title of the article, they certainly think H&M are the subject. Otherwise whose “in-laws”. could they mean?

Another Battle Royale in the Windsor War
In “Endgame,” Harry and Meghan’s sympathetic biographer, Omid Scobie, takes on the in-laws — and takes no prisoners.

AliceOlive · 26/11/2023 22:13

Sorry, I guess someone mentioned the NYTimes review upthread as I’m seeing loads of familiar quotes. …from Harry, from Harry, from Harry again.
😂

So basically OS's hypothesis is that M&H are capable of causing the collapse of a thousand year old monarchy?!! That's hilarious.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 26/11/2023 22:41

Actually, La Pom Pom Girl de Meghan has made me feel a bit sorry for OS. I think he may have been played, thinking he will get a seat at the table in the Court of the American Royals. Instead, he's turned himself into the court jester. He strikes me as someone who is desperate to fit into their world. His publishers should ask themselves whether this book was an ill advised venture, and whether they could have done better by their author.

Serenster · 26/11/2023 22:55

I think the trouble was he announced the book, its grandiose title, theme and worldwide publishing schedule back on 13 December last year. That then becomes a commitment (pushed back so the Coronation could be included, allegedly) and if things don’t pan out as he was hoping, he doesn’t have much wriggle room.

This was his announcement from a year ago:

We now know that Harry was arguing with his father about why Meghan wasn't invited, while his mother was dying, and was only appeased when he was told Catherine wasn't going, most people believe that Catherine took one for the team by staying behind.

Going back to this - I don't think Catherine ever was going. Someone had to go and pick up the children from school and tell them GanGan was dying before they heard it through playground gossip, and then be with them when the news broke, and clearly that was her job.

I agree . Seeing the way William and Catherine are with their DC , it was natural that one of them would want to stay at home to support them. Clearly that would be Catherine.
I have never understood why Harry thought it was appropriate for Meghan to go to Balmoral given that she had always refused to visit when HM was alive .

AliceOlive · 27/11/2023 02:27

I agree, because I really don’t think W&K make decisions based on what H&M are doing. Maybe they would have at one time, but definitely not something of this magnitude.

AliceOlive · 27/11/2023 02:30

But wow-this really tells you that what W&K are doing is a huge factor in Harry’s mind and behind some of his more important decision making.
