Omid Scobie's new book

boxedandribboned · 04/11/2023 20:38

Heads up, Omid is back on the PR trail...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/harry-meghan-author-omid-scobie-31362434

BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

Harry and Meghan's biographer calls King Charles 'unpopular' in scathing jibe

Omid Scobie's new 'explosive' book Endgame will be published on November 28 - and its description on Amazon says the author investigates the current state of the British monarchy

I can't see them spending Christmas here with the royals but you never know. I wonder if they were invited. The thought of them on the walk to church is too much. William will need a new scarf to fiddle with

oh yes. terrible. much better to have PA there

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 20/11/2023 09:32

Oh dear lord, change the record. Everybody knows PA is a heinous shit, but he hasn't spent the last 3 years slagging off his family from afar, and then expecting hospitality and attendance at all the plum events. Whatever PA has done, he hasn't actually gone out of his way to hurt and lie about his family, has he.

Whoever the "source" is for the initial story about the Sussexes hoping for an invite, it definitely originated in America.

Brits don't really talk about "the holidays", we would just say "Christmas".

Anyway - doesn't look like an invite will be forthcoming. Christmas can be stressful enough. A quieter time might be better - maybe away from prying eyes in Balmoral?

He knows which side his bread is buttered. Along with his ex wife. You can't live on a massive royal Estate and criticise can you? Course he's going to keep his mouth shut

BadgerB · 20/11/2023 09:53

What fun if Charles invited Thomas Markle for Christmas. "We think it's about time we met him".

I doubt he'd come - it's too far and he's too ill

ALittleTeawithmilk · 20/11/2023 09:56

Why would that be ‘fun’?

If you can't see it that way I can't explain...

No shit, Sherlock. Most people know - unless they are supremely stupid and/or arrogant - that you don't bite the hand that feeds you, if you want them to carry on feeding you.

Exactly . We all know how deeply unpleasant and arrogant PA is but at least he is not inflicting his complaints on everyone else !

Roussette · 20/11/2023 11:32

Course he isn't. For the reasons stated above. He's in hock to the Monarchy to fund his lavish lifestyle along with his ex wife of 30 years (who incidentally is guest editing This Morning and doing an Agony Aunt spot on it... WTAF!)

so having sex with a traficked girl, lying about it, paying her off with mummys money, is better than what harry has done.
WOW

is she? Oh my god! Why on earth would they hire her for that?

themessygarden · 20/11/2023 12:19

How could that be better ! Is it a race to the bottom ?

I wouldn't be comparing Harry to the lowest denominator, I am always surprised how Andrew and Fergie are used as the benchmark for how low Harry and Meghan have NOT gone.

Both Harry and Andrew are clinging on with all their might to their connections to the RF, along with both of them being the most unpopular royals, that in my view is the only similarity in their RF positioning.

Along with both of them being 'The Spare' of their generation.

LadyMuckingabout · 20/11/2023 12:46

Why don’t Spares seem to get it? I was watching an old Lovejoy on Saturday (well, it was pouring and…) and the plot involved a pissed-off second son who hadn’t inherited the stately pile.

If you are born into aristocratic/farming/landowning circles, you must know from an early age that there’s only one title/stately home/farm - yet through history so many spares have been eaten up with jealousy and refused to accept their lot.

As a poster mentioned on another thread, perhaps it’s worse when there’s only one sibling. Queen Victoria, for example, bred masses of spares!

Maireas · 20/11/2023 12:54

Well Anne has seemed to manage ok, and created a fulfilling life without recourse to public moaning.

It's a weird one.

Endless nose blowing and now an annoying tickly cough to add to the fun😡 but I haven't felt deathly all through. It just won't clear up 😡

Hope your dh recovers soon 🙂

Branflakesbreakfast · 21/11/2023 06:25

I saw someone claiming on Twitter (yes, I know, I know) that according to 'sources' King Charles told Harry that any rapprochement between them would be contingent on Harry and Meghan 'reaching out' to Thomas Markle, in their turn. In other words, to make the same allowances of others that they are expecting him to make. Probably nonsense of course, but I can sort of imagine someone in royal circles (perhaps William, or Sophie) suggesting this as a mischievious approach.

Newkidintow · 21/11/2023 07:32

I guess if Charles is genuinely a Christian he would be trying to take the approach of forgiveness and reconciliation for all. I think he’s a good man at heart who tries to do his best. I doubt there is anything mischievous about it. He’s a very flawed human being but this situation must be heartbreaking for him. He’s aged hugely in the past few years and often looks very sad to me.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 21/11/2023 07:43

I've never understood the narrative that it is an absolute tragedy that Archie and Lily haven't met/got to know their grandfather, King Charles, who is portrayed as a devious, cold, jealous man by his son; but there is no equivalent tragedy narrative that Archie and Lily haven't met their grandfather, Thomas, who had historically always been portrayed as the perfect father by his daughter, a self proclaimed "daddy's girl".

Yes, that's so odd, isn't it...

What reason could there possibly be that one grandfather is so much more important than the other?

Iwantcakeeveryday · 21/11/2023 09:22

Its so weird posters still bring up Thomas Markle as a stick to beat her with when he continues relationships with racists and sick individuals who spread stories such as Archie and Lili not actually existing, and has repeatedly attempted to blackmail her. Nobody in her position would have anything to do with him, for her own safety, but also that of her children. Thomas is also not in this book, why is he being raised on this thread?
a mischievious approach. well thats one way to put it. A family already considered by many to have issues with racism is now making a condition that H & M reconcile with someone who regularly sits with those who have been racist to Meghan. I guess it does make sense.
