Heads up, Omid is back on the PR trail...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/harry-meghan-author-omid-scobie-31362434

BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

Harry and Meghan's biographer calls King Charles 'unpopular' in scathing jibe

Omid Scobie's new 'explosive' book Endgame will be published on November 28 - and its description on Amazon says the author investigates the current state of the British monarchy

Absolutely! Can you imagine the next edition of Spare?, “I pulled a cracker with William, he got the big bit with the paper crown, I couldn’t sleep that night at the unfairness of my lot in life”

Or William always gets the best bit of the Turkey and he’s served first! My children are sent to the nursery but George is allowed to eat with the grownups…

My present wasn’t as expensive as Williams.
No one laughed at my jokes at the table.
Meghan sat further away from Pa than Catherine.

William got 2 more pigs in blankets than me. Step mummy said it was because he's bigger and needs more nourishment. It reminded me of the sausage injustices of my childhood and triggered my PTSD. I immediately left the castle and roamed the grounds in despair, searching for mushrooms to sooth my oscillating brain thoughts. If my real mummy had been here, she would have made Willy share the piggies fair and square, and told him that he needed to do sharsies on being Prince of Wales and King too. Unfair sausage distribution is the sort of dangerous lengths step mummy will go to, she is trying to make me look inferior and take all the power for herself. I am sure I heard her on the phone earlier to that Clarkson oik - I'm sure he told her to do it. I did try to warn everyone, but as usual, nobody listened except my friend O.

Isn't the Christmas invitation story just this year's version of the 'will they, won't they be invited/come' one that runs every year in Summer about Balmoral and in the Autumn about Sandringham? I'm sure I've read versions every year since they married. I don't think it even needs a 'source' anymore the media just tweak the previous year's version.

Exactly. It's a non story.

I agree. I shoudn't think for one moment that either party wants to be with the other this or any year. It's just pure speculation. At least that way there will be no more nonsense about who is more favoured blah blah.

mrsmingleton · 19/11/2023 20:25

It's sheer madness. As if either group would want to be with the other.

Makemydaypunk · 19/11/2023 20:38

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar 😂😂

CathyorClaire · 19/11/2023 20:50

Diana claimed in the Andrew Morton book that Christmas with the royals was "highly fraught" and marked by "lots of tension."

Plus ça change

mrsmingleton · 19/11/2023 20:59

@CathyorClaire just like everyone else's family Christmases then 😂

Quite contributed to that herself, didn’t she?

Well I don't think Charles was completely blameless in that respect.

Do you?

Boomboom22 · 19/11/2023 21:17

He's 42. William is 41. Wtf does he look like?

CathyorClaire · 19/11/2023 21:26

Eh?

If Harold was 42 wouldn't Willy would be the spare?

AuroraCake · 19/11/2023 21:29

Since covid I have recognised and taken the blinkers off about Christmas. It is a bleeping nightmare. And that is all I have to say about it. Much as ai love the run up to it. I used to be like a manic monkey about it. Now I’m just….tumbleweed.

I think she means Omid Scobie.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 19/11/2023 21:37

It doesn't really matter what happened in Christmas 1994 and before. None of the old school who dictated the occasion and demanded tradition(Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Princess Margaret) are alive. None of the issues that existed then - the divorcing couples, the drunken relatives, the affairs - exist now. I would hope Charles and Camilla would create a much more relaxed and joyous set of traditions, based around Camilla's and Kate's relative normalcy and lightness of touch and humour, the Middletons being normal, and the little ones being brought up with warmth and obvious love. The only way drama would intrude is if people who actively hate them create it.

Quite. Her kids are sometimes there. William always is. He invites his cousins, nieces, nephews and siblings. They all come some years. I mean really it sounds like anyone else’s Christmas now…with the fancy clothes and things. Most leave on Boxing Day.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 19/11/2023 21:49

I have to say, I did very much enjoy the movie, Spencer. A right Royal Christmas meets Stanley Kubrick. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Viviennemary · 19/11/2023 23:43

I can't see them spending Christmas here with the royals but you never know. I wonder if they were invited. The thought of them on the walk to church is too much. William will need a new scarf to fiddle with

Mylovelygreendress · 20/11/2023 08:37

Ah well , that was quick ; “ sources” are saying there will be no invite to Sandringham for Christmas .
A relief for everyone including H and M as they won’t have to spend time with toxic people .

Strange how so many people around Harry and Meghan are toxic. Hmm.
