Let me just say that marrying a biracial women doesn't mean one can't have unconscious bias lol, it's just that it was such a weird example to bring up.

Thomas is still abusing his daughter via the media.

The bottom line is that Meghan didn't want her father to meet Harry. He is not sophisticated. He is fat and gauche. He also knew the truth about Meghan's life before Harry. Not that there was anything wrong with it but that it did not chime with Meghan's version. TM must reconcile himself to the fact that he will never see Meghan again and let go of the stress. This is the reality of the MN mantra to go non contact. It's sad and not pretty.

Whatever Meghan's reasons, I'm glad he didn't meet Harry, worked out for the best IMO

Even my work colleague who loathes Meghan (i've tried and failed to convert them lol) thinks it's time he moves on, apparently Meghan is evil anyway and it's a bonus she's not in his life😂

I can believe that Thomas is a sad, frail old man, who wants to see his daughter again. I'm sure he loves and misses her. What I find hard to fathom is why he thinks going to the media will achieve that aim. He worked on TV sets, he knows that culture, either he is badly advised or he is toxic, either way I can understand why he is being given a wide berth.

I don't remember seeing anything to suggest he is racist, have I missed something?

I do remember reading his interviews around their marriage and feeling very sorry for Meghan. He was definitely acting in an abusive way using the (willing) media to amplify his voice and complaints.

Except if he made the same pleas about the other children and grandchildren who he also doesn’t see, then that might be a possibility. But he doesn’t ever mention the non existent relationship with them. It’s only Meghan that he harbours on about and she also happens to be the one who people pay money for stories on.

Come on, he doesn't really care about seeing her deep down, he knows she's moved on completely, so he's getting his licks back and making some money in the process.

I think though that both can be true, he does miss Megan and he is also using her for money. This is why I said he could be toxic, and honestly I'm leaning more towards toxic rather than badly advised. Her might also be saying he misses the other grandchildren but not on a forum that pays because who would pay for that.

The problem with either/or thinking is that people aren't like that. It seems fairly clear why he doesn't see his grandchildren, and he is definitely making money from Meghan but I don't believe that necessarily means he doesn't miss her as well.

My personal opinion is that if Harry had introduced himself to Thomas and spent time getting to know him prior to the engagement …which is generally normal behaviour then everything could have turned out so differently 🤷‍♀️

I feel the same and found it most odd he didn't fly to Mexico to meet him before the wedding. Its not like they couldn't afford it.

I haven't watched it because ick. I only really know a little about Thomas senior because of all the stuff around the wedding. Plus the sister seems toxic. I didn't know anything about the brother but I'm glad that people have explained.

Good point earlier that if things get easier between Charles and Harry it will be privately. I hope so, and a bit of thaw between Wills and Harry away from headlines. When Harry was on a helicopter trip - I think with J.J. Field on The One Show last week, he said, "My brother has flown one of these twice", or something very like that. I know I will be accused of de-railing. I was pleased to hear him speak just that little sentence about his brother and the military service which they have in common and as far as I could hear, just fact, no criticism or sideswipe involved.

Why would you try to convert someone for something like this ? Good grief, people are allowed to disagree and dislike people . I have a relative I dislike intensely and would be furious if someone tried to “ convert “ me .
