I don't see how my post was "ignoring Harry's foibles and white washing his racism"? Did you mean to reply to another person's post by mistake?
I'm referring to the fact that many posters such as yourself have chosen to use the IG as another reason to cut him down, which is disgraceful, rather than focus on the veterans. Can't you comment on the Games, and the positivity of it all, without bashing Harry? Harry, who you say only "got it for being Royal" but at least he's created something successful. What has his brother – the future King – come up with that has been half as successful as this? Has William solved homelessness yet? Has Earthshot saved the world yet? Has he resolved the Middle East crisis? 😜 Or is he on yet another holiday? 😂 Yet, many veterans have said the IG have actually helped them an awful lot in terms of MH, self-esteem, and general coping with life after war and disability.
And you're not the only one who was offended by Harry's racism. I'm mixed race/Asian myself and found many of his incidents extremely offensive. I used to hate him as just another posh, twattish Hooray Henry. However he has addressed these in his book and in the Netflix document, he has admitted to his own ignorance and stupidity, he said it was his own fault that he didn't know basic things, such as "Pki" was not the same as "Aussie" or "Yank", and his own stupidity at not paying attention to school history lessons in relation to the Nazis. I think he was incredibly stupid, but I wonder what the other members of the family also say behind closed doors. After all, he is a product of his shuttered white, upper class background.
But I let that go because I believe he has lived and learned. Also I let it go because he has stood by his mixed race wife and continues to speak out and stand by her and their children. I actually love that about him. And I also let go of the fact that he now says it was unconscious bias (on behalf of his family at least - not the press) - this to me shows that he continues to learn and grow and has a more nuanced understanding of racism- the difference between UC and racism. I also stand by his efforts to bring the papers to court.
But carry on derailing this good thread if that's worth your while.
