The trailer for 'Heart of Invictus" has been released by Netflix, and it looks incredible, and so moving.

For those interested, please find it here.

And - not meaning to be picky - I thought Charles got 2 Bs at A level and Harry got a B and a D.

Roussette

He went to University, hardly 'a lack of education'.
If that's the case, I think that also applies to Charles too who did worse at school and Uni than HarryHmm

I didn't think Harry had been to university?
I'm not saying that would make him more or less intelligent, it's just that I thought he went to Sandhurst.
Maybe a military college is the same as university?

You are quite correct on the Uni bit 👍

But as far as O and A levels, he's not exactly 'lacking in education'. If he is, our current King is too!

Charles a B and a C at A level, and 5 GCSE's (or O levels as they were known then)

Harry 11 GCSE's and a B and a D at Alevel

It's all relative isn't it? I just think it is very wrong to start talking about Harry and anyone lacking in education when that is so obviously untrue. It's just a slur to knock Harry as has been the case for years on here. If I could have a quid for every time he's been called 'thick' and many other nasty variations of that... I'd have a wodge in the Bank 🤣. We can't all be Einstein can we....

ALittleTeawithmilk · 28/08/2023 07:58

Even if it was, given Harry’s lack of education and poor coping skills, he would still never be made king

The military entrusted Harry with an Apache helicopter. Extremely hard to pilot, I’ve read. The military don’t put people ‘with poor coping skills’ in charge of the most ‘advanced helicopter in the world’ worth anywhere from $15 million to $20 million dollars.

The guy breaks down over the flash of cameras and feels traumatised because he was born the ‘spare’. Yes, this is a guy who totally has good coping skills.

LaMarschallin · 28/08/2023 08:17

You are quite correct on the Uni bit 👍

Thanks Smile

That's the only thing I was questioning really. And it looks like that - in my later post - I was wrong about Charles' A levels. I'd read he got two Bs rather than a B and a C. I bow to your better knowledge.

I didn't call Harry "thick" or make any other comment.

MamoruHisaishi · 28/08/2023 08:19

Roussette · 28/08/2023 06:58

What an odd thing to say. Harry is thick so he could never have been on the throne? He went to University, hardly 'a lack of education'.
If that's the case, I think that also applies to Charles too who did worse at school and Uni than HarryHmm

Could you cite your sources that Harry went to university and that Charles did worse than Harry at school? Was Charles ever embroiled in a cheating scandal where the teacher had to help Harry pass art class and he still only barely passed?

Yes Harry the genius was so smart, he would never have ever been caught with his pants down in a sleazy Vegas hotel, or been caught wearing a nazi costume or hurling racial slurs at ethnic minorities. Yep, that’s surely the sign of intelligence right there.

I was just talking in general on royal threads on here and in response to a post. It was said today and has been in the past incessantly, and I think it is unpleasant.

I am only quoting sources. I can link them if you like or you can google. I found the results on schooling in two places. If you read my posts you will see I have corrected the University bit, it was Sandhurst.

I will not be responding to your second paragraph.

here’s a little bit more info about Harry’s poor academic performance.

A smart person also wouldn’t have repeatedly continued acting racist after they had been caught wearing a nazi costume, coz they would have learned from their mistake the first time around.

Former teachers of Prince Harry at Eton College helped him cheat in his A-level art course because he was such a weak student, a tribunal was told yesterday.

The guy breaks down over the flash of cameras

It’s almost as if PTSD doesn’t exist with some people.

skullbabe · 28/08/2023 09:31

I hope William does the right thing and reverses this decision in the future.

The Monarch does not have the power to remove titles as per current UK law and therefore hoping is really pointless. A Private Member’s Bill has been put forth to allow for this. Unfortunately the second reading will be on a day the House will not be sitting but will not be expected to go forward. I think for people who want to strip the Sussex branch of titles - petitioning the government to strip them of their titles is how to get it done as opposed to appealing to the Monarch. So if the Bill doesn’t go through in November - perhaps getting a few MPs to get another Bill on the table is the way.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 28/08/2023 09:35

The discussion here around intelligence and connecting it to university education is elitist, classist prejudice and actually an argument that lacks intelligence itself. Plenty of people with degrees lack intelligence, plenty of people without are highly intelligent.

Once again I am insulted and disgusted by the comments regarding mental health and trauma and it shows how much work we have to do to end this nonsense stigma that deems people who have battled mental illness unworthy of respect, incapable of functioning as an adult, and somehow defective. It is disgusting. Half the population suffers anxiety, so anyone using it to have a go at Harry is insulting half the posters here. It is a damaging conversation to have anywhere and I think it is even worse that it occurs on a thread about Invictus, its almost as if the posters haven't listened to a single athlete or participants story, every one of them have overcome trauma and challenges around mental health. How disgusting to come here and make those remarks.

Can this thread please stop making these kinds of remarks about mental illness? It really is low to do here, or anywhere.

Seashellies · 28/08/2023 09:38

Why are people going on about Harry's education on a thread about Invictus? Who honestly cares? It's sad people defending or criticising him take such an interest in his life- he's surely irrelevant to most.

Better said than I ever could. The sneering that goes on about mental health just because of Harry’s involvement in anything beggars belief.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 28/08/2023 09:52

My next response won't be so polite. I am fucking sick of it. Ableist nasty fucking shit on this forum.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 28/08/2023 09:55

I got anxiety going into a small room to have my eyebrows tinted on Saturday, anyone care to insult my coping skills? I got the problem from being trapped in a car. The fact I did it anyway makes my coping skills second to none. Same as Harry dealing with press after they hounded his mother to death. People have such cruelly it blows my mind. That's worse than struggling with anxiety because we don't choose that. Being cruel to people like me is a choice you make.

MamoruHisaishi · 28/08/2023 09:57

skullbabe · 28/08/2023 09:19

He has poor coping skills, how can you become the leader of a country if you can’t even handle flash photography? How can you be the leader of a country if you create enemies with the media? How can you become the leader of a country if you provoke the taliban by talking about having a kill count or comparing killings to playing chess or video games? Someone here sarcastically mentioned about the monarchy being based on meritocracy, and I wrote even if it were harry still wouldn't qualify for the role of King. Because he wouldn't.

William could remove the HRH and prince/princess titles is what I read.

What I love about harry and Meghan being able to keep the titles for themselves and claim them for their children is that it exposes their hypocrisy. You can't be against the monarchy and all it stands for (including colonialism and inherent inequality), if you still want to claim titles for yourself and your children. You can't accuse the monarchy of causing you trauma due to being born a spare when you want to impose that same trauma on your children by claiming those titles/birth right.
