The trailer for 'Heart of Invictus" has been released by Netflix, and it looks incredible, and so moving.

For those interested, please find it here.

Don’t worry, by tomorrow we will have circled around back to Invictus.

Not so sure. More likely to hit the same brick wall the circle seems to become glued to

Ah ok. So it is your opinion. No problem with that. But in your above post you stated that you were not speculating which made it sound like you believed this to be factual. Which, of course, none of us can say.

Actions, words, inaction and lack of words where actions and words are required is more than speculating. I can accept that not everyone will agree with me, hence my use of the word opinion.

Anyway, this isn’t a William bashing thread either and I honestly have no interest bashing him. That’s why I haven’t elaborated. It would be derailing this thread so I won’t comment any further.

I just had to object to him being described as a parental figure to Harry. That’s all.

Hopefully sooner than tomorrow 😌

MissElinorDashwood · 31/08/2023 14:27

it's that much of the time those that decry the crime of derailing the thread are the ones absolutely derailing.
Someone casts their net and someone bites. And around and around again we go.
Bonkers! 😝

It’s true. In my case I derailed from the derailment. Doubly bonkers 😝😝

Invictus also offers grants for expeditions, which I think is really cool too, https://www.invictusgamesfoundation.org/invictus-endeavours and seems to offer support and community beyond just the event each year.
Also don't know if this has been posted but you can watch it on BBC. I'm assuming based on this list that its not all of it but its something.

In case anyone missed that part of this years games will be available to watch in uk

'It's not necessarily that either viewpoint in wrong , it's that much of the time those that decry the crime of derailing the thread are the ones absolutely derailing.'

Yes it is quite fascinating. I've been told off for 'derailing' whilst discussing H's actual comments in the actual documentary of thread title, the op will not engage with me for this disgusting 'derail' then posts a monologue about boarding schools.

Make ya minds up.

ALittleTeawithmilk · 31/08/2023 14:44

@Iwantcakeeveryday I wonder if Yuliia will be part of the Ukraine Team this year as she didn’t get to be there for the last games?

Janiie · 31/08/2023 14:47

But as we're ok with derailing now I agree wirh others, a 12 yr old needed to be in his normal environment. Sadly for him yes this was boarding school but getting him back to routines, peers, normality, crooked spine Matrons was probably thought to be what he needed.

We've all lost people. Life goes on. Far better to have the support in place, which he has said previously he did, whilst carrying on as normal. His dm would not have wanted him cooped up in a Palace for 6mths.

PrincessTigger · 31/08/2023 14:51

I’ve asked MN to clarify what they mean by derailing so hopefully we can all move on (to the next thing 🙈)

I think it is discussing anything that isn't in the subject title. To me that would for example be discussing Prince Andrew at great length on a thread about H.

Discussing H's comments on the doc plus his previous comments contradicting these comments aren't a derail imo but there you go.

Good question. I haven’t been following the Ukraine team. I wonder if they’ve announced their competitors like other nations.

I think he did too. A lot of the damage was done in what was their disgusting marriage and divorce and the role of the media in that. I still can’t get over the fact that people thought how violating the media was was validated. I can’t believe that peoples first thought when D and C went on TV to give interviews that people didn’t say: what are you doing to your children. The death of Diana was horrendous, not helped by a ravenous and entitled public. Charles did his best in the years after. He did his best and their life was far more stable. A lot of the damage was done in those ages to 7 though.

I agree. I quite like Charles. I get the impression he did his best, but was brought up in an atmosphere where he himself wasn't shown affection, so he wasn't as overly affectionate as his ex-wife. Also, the boys were at Balmoral, surrounded by their family in peace and quiet. The press, when Diana died wanted to absolve themselves of all responsibility and detract from all the nasty things they had printed about Diana so whipped up a weird frenzy, forcing the family to drag them home to London and put them on show. Yes, they should have said no, but they were as usual too worried about the effect on the Royal Family. Prince Philip, you could tell, was trying to hold back his anger when a perfect stranger told him to 'look after the boys', and he replied that's what they had been doing. If you listen to what William and Harry actually said about the walking behind the coffin and all of the business surrounding it, it wasn't necessarily the walking but the weeping and wailing from people trying to offload their hysteria onto two children and crying about how upset they were that their mother died that traumatised them. No one can call out the poor behaviour of Royalists behaving like these people are they own toys to play around with.

I might be wrong but I think she is. I'll try and find out for sure but it would be great!

ALittleTeawithmilk · 31/08/2023 15:26

Thanks Yes, I’m quite invested now. I hope Yuliia is there.

I agree @AuroraCake that the funeral was a show of mass hysteria of which all who took part in should be ashamed.

Harry was in boarding school at the time, at Ludgrove. He went back to school two weeks after the funeral. He went to Eton a year later.

I am not sure though what you mean when you say Also it’s his perspective and their are multiple sides to every story.

There can surely be only one perspective to a person's feelings, those of that person. No one can say, no Harry didn't experience grief in that way, because the whole point of feelings is their subjective interiority, in that we each have our own. There are no multiple sides to how a person feels about something as personal as the grief over a loved one.

William experienced his own grief, in his way. Harry experienced it in his. Charles Spencer in his own way, Diana's sisters in their own way. Charles S unleashed his anger at the press in his speech, for example. Grief is subjective to the person feeling it.

Are the beginnings and end of this not the opposite of it each other?

The funeral was a show of mass hysteria of which all who took part in should be ashamed.

and yet

Grief is subjective to the person feeling it.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 31/08/2023 15:40

Yeah I am pleased for her. I'm glad they allowed it, good luck to her :)
