This Richard Eden seems to know an awful lot - with tales of a £700 tip no less. Just a few months ago the same so-called journalist reported that Kate was overshadowing the King and Queen no doubt from his same impeccable sources.
Probably leaked by the Cholmondeleys to promote the event. I never knew this festival existed until yesterday
Those talking about Pippa naming her child Rose are using middle class concepts and morals.
Diana was the only one who did not seem to understand how it worked.
Affairs at least amongst the men, are largely accepted as how marriages operate.
Just like living in separate houses is fairly normal.
The Middletown are aping the aristocracy. To do that you have to leave middle class concepts behind.
40-50 years ago maybe. The days were aristocrats would get married, stay in unhappy marriages and have separate lives are over, Not saying that it still doesn't happen but a lot of aristo marriages were arranged back in the day. It doesn't happen anymore. Hell, even some of William's aristo friends are divorced. There would be bo gain in W&K staying in an unhappy marriage and living separately :
-
William saw his parents keep up apparences for years and knows how much that affected him. Just like him, I grew up with parents who lived in the same house but slept in different bedrooms and had completely separate lives (we didn’t even go on holidays together) and I would hope that, knowing how that felt like, he wouldn’t subject his own children to that same trauma

Charles showed William that separation/divorce and eventually remarriage is possible : Charles and Diana’s divorce was shocking because he was the first heir to the throne to divorce in recent times especially in a time where divorce was not that acceptable. But today, a divorce will not rock the monarchy, especially if the split is amicable (a la Tom Brady and Gisele). We’re in a time when less and less people are getting married, those who do get married have a 50% chance of getting divorced, people are less religious, less traditional and less conservative.
Most of us would not accept our husbands having an affair either, but this is commonly accepted in the aristocracy.
You'd be surprised at how many regular people stay in unhappy relationships, getting cheated on constantly.
It's looking like Diana was the last of the aristo wives of a monarch. They all gave W & H a wide berth. Too much hassle when you can bag a hedgie or another true aristo and live a luxurious life in relative obscurity.
Exactly! That's exactly why most aristo girls rejected William (and Harry). They know the real deal. It's better to have a life a la Pippa, married to a rich aristocrat, having the freedom to spend money without having the taxpayers scrutinizing everything, live a life of privilege and luxury without the media spotlight 24/7.
