Kate Hate

I came across some old threads in other forums and also articles where Catherine was being criticized for being lazy, dumb, overrated, a gold digger and called all sorts of names. There were even threads that questioned why people disliked her so much, and multiple pages of replies stating why she was so disliked. I am wondering why this seems to have now been forgotten, even if Meghan became the new media target, why is it hardly mentioned the amount of hate and vitriol that Catherine went through?

@BemusedAmerican I think it may be an advertisement, actually. There is a shopping link in that image.

I noticed that. I wonder how many of the followers are bots?

Do you know anyone who describes themselves as an “average gal”?

BemusedAmerican · 13/06/2024 04:21

Only in an old movie.

"Thunderbirds Are Go!" I'm sorry, but I just had to write it. It immediately came to mind when I first saw Lady Penelope written, but I resisted it until my inner nine year old took possession of my keyboard.

To really show my age I will quote Flip Wilson as Geraldine, and claim "The devil made me do it."

Sadly, I am completely sober.

I had a Flip Wilson doll as a child. You pulled a sting and it said “if I woulda known you was coming I woulda stayed home.” Brilliant.

@RitzyMcFitzy didnt Harry hint at that in his book? That it was Camilla and her team that were responsible for putting the negative stories about him out when he was a teenager to rehabilitate hers and Charles’ reputation.

And he recounts a time when William came to him in a rage shouting that she had done something similar to him (this is towards the end of the his time with the royal family) and that she had gone too far this time and that he was planning on doing something about it (but by this point Harry had had enough with it all and was rising above it).

Honestly, a huge side eye for Charles for marrying then woman who put up so many things against his children. She bullied Diana too, she was a bully since the beginning. My question is: why her? Sure, anyone is allowed to find happiness again in a new marriage but he chose the worse person possible. It says a lot of him as a person and what kind of father he is, Harry and William deserved better honestly.

Why have you resurrected a thread that was 18months to reply to a post over two years old??

Oh I didn't get it. Anyway a discussion is a discussion.

Just a heads up - this very old thread titled Kate Hate has been resurrected by a poster who has been deleted multiple times today (deleted posts about the PoW) wonder why they’d resurrect this thread huh?

Desperation.

You can chart how badly M is floundering by how hard her superfans attack Catherine. It pretty much an exponential curve.

But the reality is all the attacks on Catherine won't help M sell one more runny jar of spread.

The diference is that Kate was protected by The Palace. While The palace didnt stood against the racism Meghan suffered, which mean Kate in a way benefitted through Meghan attacks. Sure, it isnt easy for either. But one got a better treatment than other and its clear. A decent person would stand against racism and mysogony as a whole, even abasic announcement. But she and William didnt.

Utter bull.

Can you link to all the racism in the Media (something other than the "Straight outta Compton" written by a US LA based journo, and the Danny Baker tweet)?

And in what way exactly did the Palace protect Catherine against the sexist harassment she had to endure prior to her wedding or the international bullying & harassment she faced before her cancer diagnosis?

We were there, and you can't rewrite history.

I don't agree with this viewpoint

I think this is a good article for a start. There are heaps more about this topic in general.

And in what way exactly did the Palace protect Catherine against the sexist harassment she had to endure prior to her wedding or the international bullying & harassment she faced before her cancer diagnosis.

In response re Catherine, I would ask, “Why didn’t the palace protect Catherine from harassment and international bullying by speaking out?” Because the Palace should have spoken out.

I agree Catherine was bullied internationally in the media and on social media over the years, just as Meghan is currently being bullied in the media and on social media, and has been since 2016.

Both women are bullied for being women. One is also bullied for being biracial (and for being American).

So we have all three - misogyny, racism, xenophobia.

The bullying continues still.

Yes, the UK media’s coverage of Meghan Markle really is racist

The UK press’s continued denial of racism just shows how entrenched these attitudes are.

That's an op ed piece. And it provides no evidence other than the pieces I had already mentioned.

You want examples of overt racism. So you think nothing but overt examples of racism is racism.

Mrs Finklestein posted before I did. I’ve simply responded to her post. I didn’t resurrect this thread any more than she did.
