Grifters indeed! Can we have a lift Joe?

H&M asked if they could have a lift home on AF1 after HMQs funeral.
Environmentally friendly sure, but makes them look grabby and entitled again. Makes for a good story though.

No they won't. Just as they will not sue over the stories of their breaking marriage, or fraudulent children or Tom Bower's accusation that Meghan stole shoes from a photo shoot.

Despite severe provocation, Meghan has not taken legal action over the many things her sister has said about her, including about her children. Samantha though, is suing Meghan over her own take on her childhood.

I am sure that as a lawyer you advise clients that some lawsuits actually give more mileage to stories, and it is best sometimes to just ignore them.

OR……..they don’t sue if there is some truth in what is being said .

Many of the revelations about Prince Andrew and Virginia Guiffre were first published in the Daily Mail. Is this another case where stories you don’t like are clearly made up, but stories you do like are clearly true?

Gosh! I get told off continually for bringing up PA. Yet here you are, now doing that!
I do think that a multi million pay off might lead some to believe something maybe.... Grin

Once again with feeling - they have never sued for libel.

Always, MrsMaxDeWinter! I also know well however that some clients never listen to advice, no matter how sensible it is… 🤣

That I can believe!

But unless you are an ambulance chasing lawyer, my understanding is ethical lawyers advise that a lawsuit is always the last resort, and not the first.

There is one libel case Harry brought, we discussed it upthread.

I am just imagining what the DM could make up next and which everyone insists they should sue...

Meghan has approached NASA to be part of the next Space Mission
Harry has asked for a privileged pass to be present in the Senate for voting
Meghan has approached Richard Curtis to ask him for a star part in Love Actually Part2
Meghan is a sleeper agent for the US Government

And they should sue!

(Please note... one of the above has been reported as true!)

I was roundly condemned for linking a ludicrous DM story that said Kate had changed her style to "see off Meghan".

I guess the DM is truthful only about Meghan and Harry.

BalloonSlayer · 21/07/2023 07:39

I watched a documentary about the Trump presidency and I think I remember him offering Kim Jung Un a lift home on Air Force One after a summit. So it's not unheard of, why not ask?

Those who aren't detractors of H&M are not allowed to link DM stories, we get told off.
Only DM stories posted by detractors are permitted.

Ohpleeeease · 21/07/2023 07:41

The Sussexes won’t sue over this story even if untrue. It would embarrass the Bidens and that would strategically be a very bad move.

The idea that the timings don’t fit is ridiculous, the Bidens’ departure time would be a heavily guarded secret known to a very few, the Sussexes would not be in that circle.

if we’re talking hypothetically, Harry dropped an important Marines event for a Disney film, of course he would have skipped the committal for a ride on AF1. What Meghan wants, Meghan gets. But we don’t know if the question was asked, and unless the Bidens deny it (which they won’t do for reasons of diplomacy) it will probably remain one of those rumours which is believable but unprovable.

Howsimplywonderful · 21/07/2023 07:43

Harry has form for keeping planes waiting for him.

Roussette · 21/07/2023 07:45

Give him some credit FFS, this was his Grandmother. He would hardly miss the private family commital service. Much as you would like to think he would.

That was unnecessary @Roussette. You don’t know what I would like.

And let’s not get into consideration of his dying grandmother.

Hmm he turned down invitations to visit his beloved grandmother at Balmoral and didn’t exactly rush up to Scotland on 8/9 so I am not totally convinced he wouldn’t have put himself and his wife first in this situation.
However as has already been said , the President’s travelling and security arrangements are a closely guarded secret so he wouldn’t have known AF1’s planned departure time.

Good to hear that. I don't like it and don't believe it.

Harry didn’t manage a visit when she was dying, despite his ‘concerns about the people around her’

I can’t imagine he knew Joe’s leaving time when he made the request but has kept planes waiting so it’s hardly a stretch

As far as has been reported, only Charles, Camilla and Anne were with the Queen "when she was dying".

The rest arrived after she had already died.

Or do you mean while she was alive? Because it's different from 'when she was dying".

Serenster · 21/07/2023 08:01

But unless you are an ambulance chasing lawyer

:clutches pearls: 🤣🤣

(If you are remotely interested, I have many times posted that I never encourage people to start litigation, as it’s a draining, expensive and massively time-consuming process, and once you start it, it’s out of your control and can misfire spectacularly. The fact that Harry has so many court cases ongoing currently strongly suggests to me he doesn’t listen to advice much.)

Millicentsparty · 21/07/2023 08:02

If it's not true, why didn't Harry just deny it? They've been contacted by several organisations asking for their side and they've declined to say anything. We know after the car chase debacle, they were releasing comments in reply to questions they were being asked, such as, has anyone ftom the RF contacted them. So they are obviously happy to engage with the media. Why not just say, it's a ridiculous story and it never happened?
