Are they considered close friends? And Gayle, Oprah's bestie, is she still on side H&M...she appears to have gone quiet.
Or has the now known lies from their Oprah interview changed their friendship I wonder?
It all seemed so pally but did it stand the test of time?

Also @MrsMaxDeWinter why did you bring race into your response ? Totally unnecessary and irrelevant.

It's a trump card on these threads, it seems.

I’m afraid my comments were misdirected to you by accident

I’d feel much the same about Suits, terribly boring, single dimensional rubbish, I’d be embarrassed to admit choosing a career on the basis of watching it, but we are all different

It's perfectly okay that Suits is not to your taste.

But it is a little funny that your tit for tat response to me not enjoying the Coronation is to insult Suits.

And the person I talked about who chose a career on the basis of watching Suits is my nephew. He is in final year of law school now, and is not embarrassed to admit that when he was 14, he wanted to be Harvey Spector and Mike Ross. Because he was, well, 14.

I think that's a pretty fair response to watching Suits. I was a woman in my early 30s and I wanted to be Donna. Wink TV shows make law look a lot more fun than it is!

I badly wanted to be a lawyer because of Grace the DC on LA Law. Mainly because she got to make out with Harry Hamlin, my crush from Clash of the Titans!!

What a shame Suits didn't have any qualified female lawyers as aspirational characters

As a Scot who was on the Royal Mile watching the procession etc and who knows 2 people who attended the actual service , I take great exception to you referring to an important Scottish event as a yawnfest

You brought your race into your completely histrionic response to me. Why is it okay to bring your race as a Scot into it, but it is not okay for me to say, sorry I am not Scot, or English, and I see the world through a completely different racial and historical lens to you?

Why is your invocation of your race necessary and relevant, but mine is not?

Milcar · 08/07/2023 21:56

Just going on Wikipedia, so could easily be wrong of course!

Milcar · 08/07/2023 21:59

Well, being Scottish is relevant to the way the British Union is seen in Scotland? Surely?

Milcar · 08/07/2023 22:01

Of course @MrsMaxDeWinter you can define yourself in any way you choose. You are not Scots or English. How would you describe your nationality?

Your exact words were “ darker races “. Why bring skin colour into it ? Yes, I am Scottish but you have no idea about my background or skin colour .
Your latest response is patronising.

I'm pretty sure Jessica (Gina Torres in a properly ace role) was a lawyer, and Abigail Spencer's character (Scottie?), and plenty of others, but I was a secretary for a while, so Donna appealed most to me.

Milcar · 08/07/2023 22:09

Fair enough, I was relying on Google which is not complete!

You are mortally offended that I found the Charles event dull, to the point of saying "how dare you", like I went and drowned your kitten. That is all I need to know, really.

I was not mortally offended . Don’t be ridiculous.

Why did you bro g skin colour into the discussion ?

And who says I am not posting this from my home?

Why do you assume I need to "return" home to "feel at home"???

Milcar · 08/07/2023 22:15

Surely @Mylovelygreendress is allowed to have an opinion as someone who is Scottish, regarding a Scottish ceremony? It's a bit patronising to tell people that their own ceremonies are invalid

I think @MrsMaxDeWinter is deliberately missing the point and being very selective in her responses.
