The old thread got closed, just as I was trying to quote tweet someone! So I've started this one, because this shitshow is still rumbling on

Well I have.

How strange. Not seen a thing about that accept to say it happens. Camilla spends a lot of time in Wiltshire.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:20

If he's happy staying in a hotel or not staying in a hotel, why do you care?

I don't. I am not the one raising it. Why don't you ask the pp you replied to earlier?

But you did? I only saw where you just said it. Didn’t notice anyone else mentioning it.

I personally love a night or two alone. I don’t see the problem with any married person occasionally getting a break. Or having a second home. Everyone I’ve know with the means to do that, does it.

Good. We have established that Harry can spend nights in a hotel and that is not a problem and nothing to indicate anything amiss.

I never thought it was noteworthy or accepted it was even true. I don’t like speculating on anyone’s marriage.

The people some posters refer to sweepingly as “they” are not a hive mind.

Glad to hear it. It was a whole oooooh ahhhh thing on here when someone said Harry spent a night in a hotel. I think it ended up with Meghan and him splitting up, Meghan marrying a billionaire and I won't even repeat what was said about Harry.

Gracewithoutend · 17/07/2023 18:39

Roussette · 17/07/2023 18:28

Yep. It would mean they've split up, the marriage is finished, it would be endless sneering and laughing about it.

But Camilla can spend endless time at her home without criticism.

Yeah, that's right. It's amazing how Camilla avoids criticism for everything. 😂

If H&M did get divorced, yes, I'm sure lots of people would laugh at their expense. But the rumour was that he had been using the hotel as a refuge for nights here and there, and people were not assuming divorce. Obviously it excites more comment when a couple married 5 yrs is spending time separately than one who's been together 30+ years. But I don't see lots of stories about H&M splitting up, just a separation of their career interests.

Indeed. It was strange that it mattered to some people, enough to post negative remarks, but there you go.

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 18:42

I think it can be hugely healthy (depending on the couple/circumstances) to maintain different homes.

Fine for Harry to go to a hotel should he need space - if true. He has said that he suffers from mental health issues after all.

But he has been at great pains to point out that his wife has had issues too. I hope he has made sure she is in a good space or has help on hand when he needs alone time.

I would say that about any couple with children.

And I hope she can bob off on her own when or if she needs space. In my experience, although I’m from a different generation and then some, mums didn’t often get the luxury.

Roussette · 17/07/2023 18:43

Good grief, it's endless! Not sure why you haven't seen that on here. If you mean on MN.

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 18:46

Likewise. The latter being more frequent of late. And good for her for doing so. They aren’t joined at the hip simply because they are married.

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:49

It's maybe better for Meghan to branch out on her own. She's got a whole other skills set to him.

I haven't see lots of stories in the newspapers.

On here people go on forever about them getting a divorce, which I just don't see, but that had been going on long before any mention about him having a room permanently booked at a hotel. The hotel room story didn't suddenly start the stories.

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:52

I know what you mean about women having less chance to take time out, @ArcaneWireless . Even with nannies, two wee ones are full on
She's had serious mental health issues, it all got very tumultuous, and I think a bit of peace would be no bad thing.

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 18:54

I honestly think it is a wise move to branch out and be one’s own person as well as being part of a them.

Negativity swirls about most in the public eye. I wouldn’t be wanting to be clarted with anyone else’s stinky stick simply for being part of a couple. It is almost like being guilty by association.

No thank you.

Howsimplywonderful · 17/07/2023 18:59

I can imagine that Harry would love a more rural retreat in the US in time, where they could enjoy a slower pace of life and he could pass on his love of horses to the kids.

Maireas · 17/07/2023 19:00

Yes, I can see him on a ranch, taking care of horses.

Really, this is a man who has been repeatedly accused of mistreating his polo ponies

Quite.

Not to mention the inherent cruelty of the 'sport' in and of itself but then again he's never baulked at blood sports either.

I don't think a career as a horse whisperer is the answer.

Who by? I saw one claim, but he was cleared from overusing his spurs on that case. Anything else- not from PETA?

smilesy · 18/07/2023 10:13

Maireas · 17/07/2023 19:00

Does he have a great “love” of horses or livestock, though? As in to want to be on a ranch and raise them. I didn’t think he was in to horses that much, more that he was in to some sports that involve horses 🤷‍♀️

Wheresthebeach · 18/07/2023 11:05

Spurs should be banned. Anyone who uses them can't claim to be an animal lover.

LadyMuckingabout · 18/07/2023 13:08

Extraordinary what an H&M supporter will do in the name of love - defending animal cruelty Shock

Gracewithoutend · 18/07/2023 13:41

Polo is hard enough on horses without the added use of spurs. The photo of the incident is pretty gross. Harry said that it was an accident but the fact that spurs can cause that accident is surely evidence enough that spurs should not be used. And I understand Harry still does.

Who is defending animal cruelty? Unless you're vegan, we're all cruel to animals. I am not defending anything. I am telling you the facts. He was cleared of one case. The poster claimed he has been repeatedly accused.

YOU are defending animal cruelty! By whom was he "cleared"? There was nothing like a court case about it. The animal was bleeding and in distress. He's always been a bit of a Yob. Meghan is an animal lover. Didn't she make him sell his sporting guns?
