Harry and Meghan slammed by Spotify executive after podcast deal ends | The Independent

The old thread got closed, just as I was trying to quote tweet someone! So I've started this one, because this shitshow is still rumbling on

She's already got an emotional support dog.

Although they do say he's spending quite a lot of time staying in hotels atm

😂😂😂😂 Cheeky. 😁

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 16:53

Better a hotel than the doghouse…

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 17:25

@Roussette we both know that the place this little bit of gossip about him staying in hotels comes from is the tabloids. It's interesting that the fact Charles and Camilla have separate houses is no big deal, and people instead like to focus on gossip Harry stays at hotels. The hypocrisy of this board is hilarious. People commenting on the Wales' kids appearing at Wimbledon at such a young age are apparently are just wanting to find anything to criticise them over ( you know they'd have the knifes out if harry did that with his ) , a thread about Phillip receiving an 'allowance' on top of everything else right up until he died while doing absolutely nothing for it has posters on this thread defending it by saying it only costs us a 1p each, aren't we all so silly for being bothered billionaires keep ripping us off.... but this is what people think is worthy of conversing about? A stupid tabloid bit of gossip and Meghan's dog? To the point they imply Harry is the emotional support dog. One of may kids has an emotional support dog, it's not funny or cute to laugh about it. It's just pathetic and juvenile.

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 17:58

The hypocrisy of this board is hilarious.

As is the whataboutery.

And To the point they imply Harry is the emotional support dog.

The mysterious and previously questioned they appeared here too.

Who is they in this instance then?

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:03

Its quite obvious, no need to be goady, you can read the same posts doing it as I have. Its not a nice thing to do. Its comparisons, not whataboutery. Relevant comparisons of what is being discussed presently on this board.

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:10

I've seen threads where Camilla maintaining a separate home was widely criticised.

AliceOlive · 17/07/2023 18:10

I wish they would ban the word “goady” from mumsnet. It does not mean “anything someone writes that I don’t like.”

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 18:11

Dont accuse me of being goady. Report it rather than go in with accusations.

You have used a sweeping they in this instance.

You may well believe it to be comparisons. I may well believe it to be another bunch of deflections/whataboutery.

We are entitled to have our opinions here.

But the accusations? Uncalled for.

BadgerB · 17/07/2023 18:12

Do you always stick to only writing "nice things"? Don't think so...

"Comparisons" and "whataboutery" are the same thing! Which one you apply to which comment depends on your "side" in the discussion/argument

AliceOlive · 17/07/2023 18:12

Amen.

I am not the only person using 'they'. SO why don't you go start something with the other posters who have done that? Its quite obvious who I am talking about because I referred to what was said, only a few comments prior. It's not ambiguous. A poster referred to Harry as her emotional support dog and another laughed about it. No mystery. That's why its goady to put your comment to me. IMO.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:14

AliceOlive · 17/07/2023 18:10

I wish they would ban the word 'frothing'. It does not mean "anything Roussette says".

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:14

Harry said on the OW show that his father cut off his funds, so they'd have to rely on the inheritance from his late mother, which he was loath to do.
Harry has talked about money a lot.
What Charles gave him is a matter of record from the Duchy of Cornwall accounts.

ArcaneWireless · 17/07/2023 18:15

Then put their name instead of using sweeping statements.

That is accusing others who chose to comment on the situation.

IMO.

AliceOlive · 17/07/2023 18:16

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:14

I wish they would ban the word 'frothing'. It does not mean "anything Roussette says".

And I’ve never used the word. But you’ll happily lump anyone who “goads” you by posting an opinion contrary to yours as “they”.

Gracewithoutend · 17/07/2023 18:17

It's interesting that the fact Charles and Camilla have separate houses is no big deal, and people instead like to focus on gossip Harry stays at hotels.

😂😂😂

I don't get the problem. Camilla has kept her own house and she uses it for seeing her children and grandchildren. Highgrove Gardens runs lots of tours through the summer. I don't think the public criticise them for it because ot doesn't affect anyone on any way. They both have commitments, towards state and family, that take them away from each other. I cant see why that's a problem if it works for them nor do I understand why you think it's a big deal.

As for Harry, he has had a spokesperson deny the hotel rumour but even if it were true, why would it be a bad thing? Harry was quite clear, just this year, that he still has significant mental health issues that he's working through, and that's not always easy to do around two young children. If he's happy staying in a hotel or not staying in a hotel, why do you care? Give him a break and let him lead his life how he wants.

AliceOlive · 17/07/2023 18:19

Agreed @Gracewithoutend
Also who cares who takes their dog where in California? Or if people take their children to tennis, or a 4th of July parade?

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:19

I don't think the public criticise them for it because ot doesn't affect anyone on any way.

This is funny. Nothing Harry and Meghan do is affecting any of us but the criticism doesn't stop. If Harry lived in another house, it would be discussed non-stop here.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:20

If he's happy staying in a hotel or not staying in a hotel, why do you care?

I don't. I am not the one raising it. Why don't you ask the pp you replied to earlier?

Roussette · 17/07/2023 18:25

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:10

I've seen threads where Camilla maintaining a separate home was widely criticised.

I haven't.

I've heard it said. But not criticised, not once.

Howsimplywonderful · 17/07/2023 18:25

If I had the money, I’d love a little Pied a terre myself. If they are both getting small breaks which is only fair, I don’t see what is wrong.

I sometimes used to joke when the kids were young that it took a few hours apart to appreciate them 😄

Ditto, Camilla having her own place fine too

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:25

Roussette · 17/07/2023 18:25

I haven't.

I've heard it said. But not criticised, not once.

Well I have.

That's ridiculous, to suggest that Charles and Camilla never get criticised. 😆 Just nobody cares that they spend time apart. It doesn't affect anyone.
Nor does anyone care if Harry stays in a hotel a few times a month. Obviously it's more likely to excite comment about people married a short time than those that have been together for decades. But, ultimately, I really don't see anyone up in arms about it or criticising it. The only person who gets aerated about it, is you.

Maireas · 17/07/2023 18:27

I agree, @Howsimplywonderful . People made the point on the other thread about Camilla - why shouldn't she? I've no idea what Harry and Meghan's living arrangements are, but if they want time apart I can't see why it's a problem.

Roussette · 17/07/2023 18:28

Iwantcakeeveryday · 17/07/2023 18:19

Yep. It would mean they've split up, the marriage is finished, it would be endless sneering and laughing about it.

But Camilla can spend endless time at her home without criticism.
