It really doesn't matter to some people who Bill Simmons is or the context in which he said what he said. All that matters is that someone high profile has said something negative about H&M and feeds into their narrative of things going wrong for them.
Bill Simmons an experienced sports journalist, now podcaster but more significantly, a talented podcast developer. Having sold the Ringer for $250m, he now runs it, along with other duties, for Spotify, now with 70 active podcasts.
Bottom line he knows what he's doing regarding journalism and podcasting. He offered Harry help which didn't work out, clearly leaving considerable animus. (I can't wait for that story!)
I guess I'd be more sympathetic to Harry if this was an unnamed source. But this is a named guy, from a reputable commercial practice, with a good track history, who's expressing frustration at their work ethic.
I mean, I think that's something to be taken seriously.
And as horrible as it is for the Sussexes now, it might end up being a positive. I think Harry hasn't really understood how things work outside the RF, and maybe he needed a reality check. IMO, they're both capable people. They can pull this back but it'll take more than getting awards and issuing press releases. I'm sure WME have got some great stuff lined up for them. And the Invictus Games doc will be a great starting point.
