She will go back to an image of a strong, successful woman who built her own career

But she didn't. How many folk had heard of her because of her acting roles. She's become famous by marrying into one of the most famous families in the world. That's hardly building a career

She was moderately successful according to what I can make out from IMDB. Most people had never heard of Suits (I've never seen it) until she started going out with Harry and then started watching out of curiosity. I did watch one film with her in it, out of curiosity, and it wasn't very good. A Hallmark one. I don't think she'd have ever bothered the Oscars.

Lots of comments (elsewhere) in response to this Dior article about them wanting their privacy. They have to work though, don't they? And that will be reported on by the press.

@IcedPurple ah yes, you are correct!

St James’ Palace announced the pregnancy on 2nd December 2012 after Catherine admitted to hospital due to hyperemesis gravidarun

Prank call made on 4th Dec ‘12

Prank call broadcast on 5th Dec ‘12

Jacintha Saldanha committed suicide on 7th December 2012

Awful. Just awful.

Gossiping is not light hearted entertainment.

Agree. The people on here saying they are just gossiping should really think about all the nasty things they are saying. Imagine if you read a thread like this about you (imagine how MM felt reading all those horrible headlines, including about her son being a monkey). No wonder she left the country. I wonder how people would feel if she took her own life, by the sounds of many here they would think she deserved it. Truly disgusting.

The palace stated it was to protect the privacy of staff members who participated. But if it exonerated Meghan and Harry, they could have called for the report to be released. They haven’t done that, just like they haven’t sued newspapers that published stories about staff being bullied.

Yeah, pretty sure the palace hid the findings because they didn't show what they wanted them to. Most likely to protect the staff from the backlash from making false accusations. If they were true the Palace would have definitely leaked or released the details to the press.

ParklifePenguin · 19/06/2023 05:36

I think there have been more leaks from Harry and Meghan than the Palace, so it is more likely the report supported the claims of bullying, otherwise they would have found a way of making it public.

ILikeDinosaurs · 19/06/2023 05:43

@ParklifePenguin but the palace owned the report, not M & H.

ParklifePenguin · 19/06/2023 05:52

Presumably they would have had a copy, and the opportunity to respond.

Howsimplywonderful · 19/06/2023 06:09

Those palace staff went on the record in Low’s book talking about bullying. They were happy to be named in that . Yet no legal action 🤔

I feel that the hate has gone on for so long the majority must be as people seem personally so invested in them. I'm putting it down to that they left the country and people take that personally, nothing else really makes any sense. It's not healthy to hate someone this much that you don't know, in fact it's not healthy to hate anyone this much.

maybe the reasons you give are what you hate about them, but please don’t make assumptions about anyone else

people are individuals, not one homogeneous mass.

I just took the article as a clear indication that MM is distancing herself from Harry and that (unless public opinion changes) she will continue to distance herself until Harry is out in the cold and a separation / divorce is announced. She has the Duchess title now, and he is no longer of value.

She’s used up all the power and influence that’s come with being married to him. He’s a liability to her now. I can’t imagine he’s much fun to live with either. Such a negative person.

Now that is one of the most ludicrous things I've read on here.

Wherestheheatwave · 19/06/2023 07:50

The ‘hate’ so many posters speak of is dislike and disgust at the way they have behaved. Selling out Harry’s family for money. Pure and simple. Putting their own interests above others at every turn. They will literally do anything for money, even whilst beloved grandparents are dying or ill. Slating those who are unable to put their own side of the story or speak back. That is bullying.

Their utter ingratitude for the all the things they have. Money, success, fame and influence. The love and support and financial help they have received. The support of the British public who have been sneered at.

Many people have absolutely no respect or liking for either of them. With good reason. They deserve to be held up to scrutiny.

SaxSick · 19/06/2023 08:06

It's such a shame that M isn't enjoying her time with her children while they are so young as time flies so quickly. It's not as if the pair of them are poor and both need to work to make ends meet. I suspect she feels she has to hit while the iron is hot though and this is why there is this desire to rebrand herself as H has floundered in that respect now. Sadly I think she is tainted too by things like the Oprah interviews for Dior.

She said on the previous thread it is a movie.

notsayingmuch · 19/06/2023 08:18

Yes, it is a movie, I know that, but I am wondering what the joke is. Who is being called smelly? Seems like a strange username if you are on an anti-bullying crusade. Grin

Howsimplywonderful · 19/06/2023 08:21

I know the film, but it sounds like the OP is referring to Meghan as smelly, imagine if a poster critical of Meghan’s actions had the name 😀

Roussette · 19/06/2023 08:34

How on earth do you know she isn't spending time and enjoying her children? 😲😲

Of course she is! They both come across as very hands on and loving parents.
Do we say this sort of thing about all working women? Shock
I get some people want or need to criticise her, but really....

My theory about the fake car chase was that it was the first layer in a story about the royal family arranging their deaths abroad via a high speed car chase as some claim they did to Diana. however, the fight with Backgrid and early contradictions from people who were there destroyed the plot before it got that far.

Seems fairly obvious it was set up to beef up their demands for paid security.

LadyMuckingabout · 19/06/2023 09:16

If anyone is “sad, bitter and jealous” it’s Harry!

jeffgoldblum · 19/06/2023 09:18

There are posters from all over the world on this board, to assume everyone is from the U.K. is a mistake at best.

You’re pretty sure that the situation you just made up is definitely true? Okay.

There are many downsides to the palace leaking that report. Not least of which is further distressing staff members who have already told journalists that their working environment was traumatising to them. It seems unlikely to me that a new King would want yet another media frenzy from the Harry/Meghan soap opera.

None of us have any idea what is in the report. All we know is that Harry and Meghan denied bullying and Harry has then acknowledged in his book that staff were stressed and would often cry. We also know that they aren’t shy about bringing legal action when they believe they have been mistreated yet they haven’t over this.

jeffgoldblum · 19/06/2023 09:26

@Serenster , has already detailed why the report wasn't published.
