A poster on Twitter speculated that the dog bowl incident might lead to all out war between the Dukedoms of Cambridge & Sussex. This suggestion triggered some entertaining responses:-

I remember that @MrsGusset . Oh, what happy times his book release gave us. I laughed so much over the translated excerpts (surely the RF had a hand it that - genius), the memes, and the comments on Twitter. Oh, will we ever enjoy the like again?!

They were contracted for several series of work but only managed to produce one and I think that started well but slumped by the last few episodes. They don't seem to have a very organised work ethic and rely on outside teams to get them moving.

Spotify have just overspent ridiculously, though. It makes you wonder who these execs are that they are so incautious about the bottom line. I guess that's why the exec who signed them has been fired.

They seem to work in really short bursts of effort months and months apart. Their best success so far is Spare and that was written by someone else.

They're just a pair of lazy, entitled grifters.

'The Duchess of Sussex'ss Archetypes podcast is being dropped by the streaming service, and reportedly did not produce enough content to warrant a full payout of the $20 million (£15 million) deal she and Prince Harryy signed with Spotify in 2020.'

It would be interesting to know exactly how much they were paid from Spotify.
That security and the Court cases won't pay for themselves.

And that's the only reason it got written, because someone else was writing it. They just don't seem to drive anything themselves but are reliant on others which is why both Netflix, Spotify and Penguin Random House started to get involved in their projects - to move them along.
I'm a procrastinator so I get H&M. But it's very poor business to keep your partners waiting like that. When the CEO starts to agitate, that should ring alarm bells - or maybe not, if you're a prince!
However, I hear that Tyler Perry might have bought a couple of tv networks. So that should open up some work opportunities for them both. Pretty sure TP will help bankroll his goddaughter's future

I suppose the bottom line is:

the Sussex name is a big draw for some people

the Sussex name is a big turn off for some people

To be fair, Spotify have used a very ill-judged business model. I think a lot of these new tech firms believed they could predict outcomes and they're realising that that is actually a lot harder than they'd thought. I sometimes think there's a lot of "emperor's new clothes" type of issues going on. They talk big and splash their dosh around to show how well they're doing but actually business isn't that great.
There's always new tech coming along to challenge them as Spotify is discovering to its cost.

Also, to stay relevant you have to keep it fresh and mix it up a bit. Not the same old, same old.
Plus the royal family haven't responded to the claims so it's just a series of unsubstantiated claims. They're going to need to do something new and different. Something positive.

@Maireas - the trouble is their USP was being members of the royal family.

which is why “just call me Harry”, a statement that showed Harry as an ordinary guy was quickly dropped and he now even used HRH in his court appearance, despite being told he was no longer entitled to that style.

The longer the estrangement, the less relevant they become.

just churning out the same old stories builds a picture of a resentful person who cannot move on.

Plus I think it just gets tiresome.
I think he's contracted for more books , I know Meghan is. I suspect they may be "wellness" manuals, though.

Harry is not an advert for “wellness”

he is clearly still very damaged, very bitter and very jealous.

His present life does not seem to make him happy.

No, he's not, but he does seem to believe that he can promote it.

They've announced, well, I guess their new mgt has announced on their behalf, that they're not going to talk about the RF anymore. As the main interest in them seems to be about the RF, that's going to be challenging for them to come up with alternative content. I wonder what this new firm has lined up for them beyond the Netflix documentary about the Invictus Games.

However, they let go the producer behind their documentary and the marketing director behind Archetypes in January. Maybe they knew then the writing was on the wall back then and that's why Meghan looked for a new mgt company. Heavens, a documentary about the ins and outs of their business dealings would be so much more interesting than their usual burnt offerngs about the RF.

Have they reached a cash settlement with the RF? Paid to shut up? Probably.
