They did! But the post I was responding was about Meghan apparently asking for preferential service on the strength of being made a duchess, a year in advance of it actually happening. The story just didn’t ring entirely true, although as I said, I’m sure it was posted in good faith.

Indont know about their current financial situation.

has Harry got any new deals in the pipeline, either solo or with Meghan?

yesterday there were uncredited stories that her podcast had been cancelled.

More than enough I would guess with the NF, Spotify and PenguinRandomHouse deals. Also new collaboration announced with the Hollywood agency could be lucrative and sustainable.

For PH I don’t think it’s about the money. I get the impression he is hungry for cash? But he needs affirmation, to be heard, to be taken seriously, to punish, to win.

I worry though if that will ever be satiated in him.

I agree that it’s a likely more of a moral crusade but to lead a billionaire lifestyle, enough? Esp if rumours true & want to upgrade mansion, etc? Do they have friends and allies? Tyler P, Oprah, Jessica M? The niece. Which of H’s inner circle remain close? The Spencers are close advocates (?)

IMO Harry needs the routine and challenges he got in his army days.

As far as the court case is concerned I did wonder if Harry bringing his case along with the other claimants was strategic. As I understand it there are four claimants, all with their own claims, but all are being heard at the same time.

If, as some pps have said, the bar for proving hacking is fairly low then would Harry's case be helped if the other three claimants can clearly prove that hacking had taken place in their cases? Would this then suggest that it had happened in Harry's case too, even if his evidence was not very strong ? If he had brought the case individually would there then have been less chance of him being successful if his evidence was not particularly strong?

I don't know how it works but perhaps someone with civil litigation knowledge will know.

This did cross my mind because he said that he only brought the case because he met his barrister on holiday on France and I wondered if he was encouraged to join in with other claimants to make his case stronger. Or could it be that a more famous litigant might bring more publicity to the case?

Re: the Duchess title. I think it's a fair assumption that Meghan would know that she would be given that title on marriage, and probably shared that with others. She would be aware of Kate's title, and remember she's always been friendly with the Yorks, she knew Fergie, which pre dates her meeting Harry. She will have done her research, so it's very plausible that she knew.

@feellikeanalien Harry's case is weak as there is no clear cut actual evidence of phone hacking such as BT records. There were in williams and kate's cases and many others. Harry says records could have been deleted, but really? BT? Anyway, on its own I doesn't think he would have a case. The other people (yet to be heard) I believe do have solid evidence. So the hope is 'similar fact' evidence and the 'balance of probabilities' side of civil law is what they are hoping will swing it in Harry's favour. Even on collecting evidence illegally by other means is not shown.

No one is in any doubt they were serious issues with invading his privacy and purely on moral grounds he deserves to win, but whether that is enough only the judge can rule on it and he must go on evidence and balance the case's factors, so who knows?

Some people on this thread who are fans of M&H can't seem to grasp the idea that people who are not convinced by Harry's case, support the tabloids, when it's quite possible to dislike both Harry's behaviour and the tabloid press.

As for the barrister he 'met in holiday' I think he is just a fame hungry, money grubbing opportunist using Harry to front a fairly minor case. So Harry is being used again like he has for the last few years.

I think Sherborne saw him coming.

Sherborne is a celebrity barrister, hence at Elton johns house. The fact he is grinning like a Cheshire Cat in all the photos of Harry leaving court, says it all.

It is a shame because while he has managed to bring attention to the case, he has also reminded everyone that he is not the brightest. As somebody branching out as a CHIMPO, that isn't going to help his credibility.

And Harry’s testimony in court, with its repetitive chorus of “I don’t recall”, along with his non-appearance on day 1, contrary to the judge’s instructions, plus his repeated breaking with court etiquette to address the judge directly did not reflect well on the preparation done by his legal team.

To be honest I think he did OK in court, considering he was under intense questioning for a day and a half. You could say that Jane Kerr for the other side didn’t exactly shine. The issue wasn’t his performance but his evidence. But once we hear the other witnesses and the evidence they put forward I think we’ll get a better sense of how strong the case is as a whole.
