The Daily Mail is touting William, Kate, Sophie, and Edward as the new Fab Four. Do you agree with the Daily Mail that they are an influential foursome?

Fab Four!
My fat fingers on my phone are to blame.

Nope. I've never seen a drier desert of charisma or style.

Ontopofthesunset · 19/05/2023 13:00

What a load of nonsense. The Daily Mail is absolutely desperate to keep interest in the monarchy buoyant as it keeps people reading. Who cares?

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 19/05/2023 13:02

Also, what the effing F are those dresses?! Grin

BlueKaftan · 19/05/2023 13:04

This is how the DM start the fawning buildup and then Wham they will take them down. Kate in particular is in the firing line.

Hugasauras · 19/05/2023 13:04

Well there are certainly four of them. That's about it.

Riverlee · 19/05/2023 13:08

I’ve noticed that Edward and Sophie have been gaining a wider recognition of their work in recent years - before it went under the radar.

I agree about those dresses though that- Oklahoma here we come!

SunnyEgg · 19/05/2023 13:12

I know nothing about Sophie and Edward other than the odd picture, which you’ve added to

But no I wouldn’t put them all together

SidekickSylvia · 19/05/2023 13:13

I wonder if any of the 'fab four' looked at this headline and just groaned. It's simply an invitation from the DM to criticise them all, individually and together.

callingeveryone · 19/05/2023 13:13

Just googling and noticed The Mirror tried to claim in February that Kate, William, Zara and Mike Tindall were the new Fab Four.

🙄

They seem less and less relevant in today's world and the funny clothes don't help.

CindersAgain · 19/05/2023 13:16

Oh I like Kate’s dress.

Absolutely.

The use of that particular photos makes it clear what they are up to.

And yes - Kate is in for it.

Never Charles and Camilla though. hmm

The press tried it with W & K and other royals, too. Why are the media so desperate to have a 'Fab Four' that appears to include W & K and any other royal couple they're photographed with?. Is it a reference to The Beetles from 60 years ago?

callingeveryone · 19/05/2023 13:17

The funny clothes are necessary to differentiate them as not being ordinary people.
They can't wear everyday clothes as they would not look special. And if they went too much for the glitzy celebrity approach then they start to look like just another celebrity.
So although I do not like the way the Senior Royal women dress, I think it does make sense for them as an institution.

They look like they're in a cult 😂

Fiddlededeefiddlededoh · 19/05/2023 13:22

I’m very wary that Kate is being built up like Diana was before she starts getting the legs taken from under her. If Meghan does disappear from public view I suspect the press will soon need a new royal target and it will not be a future monarch. I foresee faux “weight” or “tiredness/exhaustion” “concerns” in Kate’s future before the tide turns on her. As regards Edward and Sophie no, nobody is interested in them they are so utterly bland.

In a way they are a victim of their own success.

They did such a good job oin the Sessex that they ran out of town.

Now they need a replacement - they seem to be lining up Kate!

smooththecat · 19/05/2023 13:26

Looks like a scene from the Handmaid’s Tale to me, doesn’t look fab anything.

8roses · 19/05/2023 13:29

Not based on that photo - we don’t need a new Fab Four - there was never a Fab Four in the first place

It's the royals' desperation for good press, except they don't know how boring and out of touch they are.

Yes!! This

Cowparslee · 19/05/2023 14:29

They never claimed to be the 'Fab Four' they are just quietly getting on with their roles in a constitutional monarchy. The Daily Mail gives them these silly monikers deliberately - and all those responding with bitchy rejoinders are clearly the Daily Mail's target market - so well done for identifying yourselves.
