The Daily Mail is touting William, Kate, Sophie, and Edward as the new Fab Four. Do you agree with the Daily Mail that they are an influential foursome?

Do you actually realise how offensive that remark is? You're making a joke about the horrific lives people suffered on plantations? Words fail me.

That's really offensive. It's not funny.

Why, because Edward and Sophie were malnourished in their poverty stricken childhood? Don't be ridiculous.

My SIL is a similar age to Kate and met the Wales a couple of years ago. SIL runs ultra marathons, is tall, slim and toned. In the press photos she looked dumpy in comparison to Kate. William and Kate are well above average height and really very slender.

Actually I think it's a joke aimed at the Royal Family. Because we know they used to be slave owners..

My understanding was that the UK hasn't allowed slave ownership since the 1830s (I think - please correct me? It was the 1830s when it was outlawed in South Africa by the British administration, from what I remember).

But there are things you just dont joke about. Slavery, child abuse, rape etc.

To me, it's using the pain and suffering of others to make a cheap dig.

They have to wear clothes like this to show they are different. If they wear ordinary clothes they look just like members of the public. If they wear more modern designer clothes, they look like celebrities on instagram.
It is a work uniform that serves a purpose.

Hopefully they can modernise and (especially kate) look a little less frumpy and middle aged. It is a tried and tested uniform though.

It's a difficult balance though. Kate could wear modern designer clothes celebrities wear. But that could raise questions of if she is a celebrity why are we paying for her. They need to pose as drawing on centuries of tradition, and that means a more conservative look.
You can see from what Kate especially was wearing before marriage that her personal style is much less frumpy and more modern.

But her wearing shit stuff like this makes me wonder that. I'd rather they were a bit more glamorous, at least it's something to look at. This makes them look completely pointless, out of touch and ugly and if they want to keep people interested in them they're not doing a very good job. And by that I mean the next generations. With Kate's recent pics you can see that teenagers and kids are completely uninterested in her/them.

I don't think they do enough work but FFS my taxes go towards them the very least they could do is provide is some glamour!!

I agree they have to attract young people's interest to survive. Interest is falling all the time.

People on the RF boards have predicted a future of the RF in the vein of the modernised RFs in Northern Europe. I think it’s a pretty safe prediction. It would seem that Charles very much wanted what his mother had, and it feels to many like its had its day.

The topic is whether they are the new ‘fab four’. I don’t think so. Sophie and Edward seem nice but they don’t have the star power. And H/M said the fab four thing was fake anyway!

Surely the only valid criticism is they are being called the Fab Four (🤮) by the nauseating media, not that those poses are unflattering or the clothe boring. They're people FFS. Human beings. Why be so shitty

@tigger2022 i was talking about the deletion of the response to the above post. It was a discussion about the clothes the ‘fab four’ were wearing.

I can’t see the racism in the response by @hopelessbuthopeful addressing the hypocrisy of the post.

It was deleted because it was a personal attack rather than commenting on the issue - I reported it, and it seems MNHQ agreed it broke their posting guidelines.

I think @tigger2022was mistakenly thinking my response was to a deleted post - a much later post by KitbumbleB 17. 47. I don’t know what that post said because I hadn’t read that far. It was not the post I was responding too. I don’t need schooling in what’s racist. I know racism when I read it.
