What next for the Sussexes?

1000 replies

Casuaala · 07/05/2023 14:49

I thought yesterday couldn't have gone better, all things considered; there was the least amount of drama or negative coverage possible regarding the Sussexes.

I'd like to hope that this marks a fresh start. Harry's got all the recriminations off his chest. The Royal Family have maintained a dignified silence and hopefully the future is rosy. The Sussexes can have the life they want in the US, with a small presence in family events back here when appropriate. (I wouldn't be surprised however if Megan never makes it back on UK soil).

I know because that's what Harry said in his Sentabale speech. I mean, like you say, he might have been talking trash, but that's what he said.

So you are saying that Harry said the following in his Sentabale speech. That is what you are asserting.

I want to set up a court in the UK where I can drop boring stuff like visiting scout huts and do glamorous royal duties like ceremonies and balcony waving and I would like to keep my public profile raised so I can sell me and my wife for more money.

Okaaaaay..... 😁🤣😂

I think it’s pretty obvious that the plans would need to be put in writing, how else would it work?

It could work by a confidential discussion with Charles and HMQE first. I would like to do this and move to this place. No, how about this instead. No, that won't work because you have to consider this. ................and so on.

Then once everyone has reached a halfway point, a proposal of those talking points is given.

In any ordinary place the above could easily be done by emails, but not in the leaky, underhanded palace.

WheelsUp · 14/05/2023 15:37

AliceOlive · 14/05/2023 14:22

I think “told” is also a keyword here.

Imagine what a world of difference it would have made had Harry approached this differently. “Father, Grandmother, my new wife is deeply struggling and I need to give our family some breathing room, away from London, away from the British Tabloid culture. What are the options to create space? Can we just go away for six month, a year, take a sabbatical? Call it parental leave?”

They would have made it happen without the drama and vitriol, absolutely. Take a break, see how you feel, then regroup is always solid advice. You don’t have to make drastic life-changing decisions under duress.

You don’t come at people in power and tell them how things will be and expect to retain all your perks. You don’t make a power play in the public eye.

The Sussexes would have had the option to do what the Wales' did and enjoy married life for a year before starting working royal engagements.

It is alleged that they wanted to hit the ground running rather than have a year off.

notanotheroneagain · 14/05/2023 15:28

You are aware that K&W used to frequently fall out of clubs sh*tfaced with Harry, right?

You assign the same sentiment, presumably.

They might have been drinking when they were young, we have no indication they were doing drugs. But they grew up. Harry was still doing it well into his early 30s. If William and Catherine were drinking and doing drugs to the extent as Harry, I'm have to read those articles if you link them.
And if they were, and they wanted to do a renegotiation of their terms of employment, I'd expect Charles to ask them to put it in writing too. Just makes sense.

I didn't do a direct quote but yes, that's what he said he wanted. To serve the Queen in the.areas that interested him and not take public money so selling their services which are only worth anything because their name is attached to the monarch.
I apologise. I hadn't realised people on here were so literal.

You just literary asked me for attachments in the post above this !

While there is no specified amount of who was taking how much of what, there are plenty of pics showing everyone drunk af. (I see no need to post them, everyone has seen them).
You also would have been so angry if Harry was disclosing all about K&W recreative activities, so we don't know. He did disclose his own, because they were in public anyway as part of the clean up for others.
Reinventing the Royals will give you more info.

I have just read the transcript and it is nothing like that.

@notanotheroneagain I don't think W or Kate actually assaulted anyone though?

Birchtrees · 14/05/2023 16:48

That’s because they’ve set themselves up as moral guardians for the nation. Proclaiming that they are feminists, here to expose racism and bang on about the environment whilst not living up to any of their values personally.

Not just alleged. Those were the words Meghan used in the engagement interview. The late Queen gave them the option of living quietly under the radar to begin with. Their choice not to.

What is me asking you for an attachment of Williamand Catherine falling out of clubs shit-faced in their 30s got to do with paraphrasing? 🤔

I don't remember seeing pictures of William drunk. I do remember seeing photos of Catherine looking a bit bleary-eyed in taxis. That was in her early 20s. I don't remember anything if them in their thirties.

I would think it wrong of Harry to share memories of them being drunk which is why I didn't criticise for not doing so. Although I do believe he did mention William being drunk. I guess Harry just can't help himself.

I don't know what reinventing the royals is all about. But I guess you're saying you just have seen a couple of pictures of Catherine in a taxi and you have nothing of both of them falling out of a club with Harry totally smashed.

I agree. And for some that drink heavily and do drugs regularly, it, understandably, impairs their memory and their reliability.

I am losing my patience here. Scroll up to my post 12th May 21.43. I said it. I was the one. OK??

Stormy quoted it. You picked it up.

You are losing your patience? My goodness...
Sorry but I don't see that quote in that post?
I do see it in second image though which is not yours.

What next for the Sussexes?

Oh dear. The second and third sentence of your first picture are the words you are disputing I posted. They are there in black and white.

Shall we leave this now? Can we? Because I actually have no idea what this is about now.

I honestly don't.

I cannot see in your post the quote " Nobody is baiting you. It's called responding to posts " . I really cannot see that ?

The two sentences in the second picture aren't in the first, although the sentiment is the same.

Feels like crossed wires.

Ahhhh we are getting somewhere now! I am referring to the 2nd and 3rd sentence of the first screenshot that you quoted in the early hours of this morning. That I wrote day before yesterday.

I have no idea about your second picture. Or what we are actually talking about. Or what it has to do with me. Or what I am supposed to have said. Or not said. We are obviously at cross purposes?
Can we leave it now? Please, pretty please, big pretty please 😊

Roussette · 14/05/2023 18:23

Cross purposes! Cross wires! Yes yes yes. But I just cannot do this any more. I have no idea what this is all about to be honest. It's moved on. Let us move on.

The usual answer when a poster cannot defend what they have said. I never quoted the sentences you are saying I did. I like facts and not wishy washy insinuation - maybe why I don't like MM.

I quoted " Nobody is baiting you. It's called responding to posts " It wasn't you, it was someone else but you chose to take it as quoting you. It's simple facts - it wasn't you and you originally said it was you. End of.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 14/05/2023 18:33

@BeenThereTooo did not mention you directly @Roussette. You attributed the original quote she mentioned as something you'd written and even when you were told it wasn't you that had said it, you insisted it was. She did not bring up your quote from two days ago until after you claimed you'd said something you hadn't.

It's quite obvious this was a mix up but why the hostility? You weren't accused of anything and the OP was trying to clear it up.

Not everything is an attack. Sometimes it's just a conversation. No one did anything wrong, it was a genuine misunderstanding.

What paraphrasing ??

I don't remember anything if them in their thirties.

Because they were married with kids? Which is why you don't see Harry pics drunk after marriage either ?

Reinventing the Royals was a BBC programme that the palace took off air. It explains how media work with the RF.

They were all drunk at the same clubs at the same nights when younger. Now you want me to repost those? They are all over the internet. Go look yourself. I swear, some of you so called 'royalists/monarchists' whatever you call yourselves don't even like K&W from the sounds of it.
