What next for the Sussexes?

1000 replies

Casuaala · 07/05/2023 14:49

I thought yesterday couldn't have gone better, all things considered; there was the least amount of drama or negative coverage possible regarding the Sussexes.

I'd like to hope that this marks a fresh start. Harry's got all the recriminations off his chest. The Royal Family have maintained a dignified silence and hopefully the future is rosy. The Sussexes can have the life they want in the US, with a small presence in family events back here when appropriate. (I wouldn't be surprised however if Megan never makes it back on UK soil).

l’m not the only one ‘ isn’t a very good excuse either 😂😂

Roussette · 12/05/2023 19:04

I stand by what I thought of the Beach video. Which was a comment on PR and the RF, as part of a long post I wrote in reply to someone else. That is all.

Have a nice evening.

Anyone else want to join in?

ArcaneWireless · 12/05/2023 19:06

but there is no requirement to be snidey about others to do that.

Please show me where I say you or mention you in that part of my post.

I did not say you. I said there was no need for anyone to be snide about others in order to defend Harry.

Roussette · 12/05/2023 19:09

It was directed at me in a reply to me as part of a conversation we are having. You said there was no need to be snide. I presume that meant me as you were posting to me about a post that I wrote.

Let's leave it. And you have yourself a nice evening, as I said before.

ArcaneWireless · 12/05/2023 19:11

Part of the post was directed at you -in a response to your post - that part was general. Or else it would have said you in it.

Samcro · 12/05/2023 19:11

Wow talk about a pile on, well done @Roussette for not letting them gaslight you.

Roussette · 12/05/2023 19:12

Oh dear.
You saying I didn’t call you snide either but that is how that part of your post read to me is not meant for me. But for someone else?!

polkadotdalmation · 12/05/2023 19:16

I'm very much afraid it sounded pretty snide to me. Ultimately its not the truth that matters, its how someone perceives it. Bit like Harry and Meghans idea of the truth.

Roussette · 12/05/2023 19:17

Bingo! Four posters on this snide comment!

Just don't be afraid, it doesn't suit you!

Samcro · 12/05/2023 19:23

Reminds me of the mean girls at school and their side kick, get someone on their own and attack them

Funnily enough, when I say just that, I get deleted. Strange that

Roussette · 12/05/2023 19:26

Good job I have the skin of a very old wrinkled rhinoceros Grin

Thanks @Samcro

polkadotdalmation · 12/05/2023 19:26

Just visit the thread about the newspapers and harry, and you will see it in action.

ArcaneWireless · 12/05/2023 19:41

Never been a mean girl and I am not anyone’s sidekick samcro

I picked up on one tiny point which spoiled a sensible post.

In order to defend someone, it isn’t necessary to be snide about any one else. That is a generalisation. It isn’t meant for anyone in particular.

I disliked a comment posted today which was apparently a comment that has been made lots of times before (that I really can’t recall seeing), simply because I don’t think it was necessary to say. That is all.

I’m not here for pile ons or anything else. I’ve seen it done to plenty on here. I have my own opinion and so does everyone else.

A similar opinion isn’t a pile on.

StormzyinaTCup · 12/05/2023 19:46

Seeing as someone bought up gaslighting on this thread (I'm not sure where, I can't see it so I would have to read back) but there are some excellent examples on the other thread for anyone interested in that type of behaviour. You could make study material from that thread.🤓.

Also, if you are the only poster with a differing view on the chat at a particular time then people aren't left with much choice in who to debate with, it doesn't mean it's a pile on just that the choice and content is limited. It's not compulsory to respond and of course you can report if you think there is bullying.

Roussette · 12/05/2023 19:48

I picked up on one tiny point which spoiled a sensible post.

Thank you for recognising the rest of the post is sensible. That is the crux of it. It was only part of a long post in reply to someone else.

As for the snide, you said it twice, once in general, once to me. Let's just forget it, please.

That's it really. Enjoy your Friday night. Life's too short and all of that.

(Good luck Mae Muller. My DD has been in 'Pool all week and seen all the acts in dress rehearsals, sung with Jemini (nul points 2003) and Jedward... mad whatsapps from her 🤣)

SugarRaye · 12/05/2023 19:54

OMG. This is just a thread about the Sussexes, does it really call for all these arguments and insults amongst posters? Chill people. Let's drag other people to bits not each other. 😉 😂😂

derxa · 12/05/2023 19:57

sung with Jemini (nul points 2003) Awww! I'm the only person who loved that song even sung out of tune. What a pair of troupers.

They were lovely, according to DD! I loved the song. All the right words, just in the wrong key!

They sang in John Lewis Liverpool day before yesterday, and honestly @derxa it was really so much better than on the night! (DD said they've had 20 years to practice lol) I have vid of it, and them with DD, they were great fun apparently.

Serenster · 12/05/2023 20:04

Not a Jemini fan, but Precious with “Say it Again” was terribly underrated, in my opinion. Sweet harmonies and key change. 😀

Roussette · 12/05/2023 20:06

Oooh must look that one up Serenster. I should know but I'm not such a Eurovision fan as the rest of the family. (DH has his scoring card printed out ready... yes really!)

StickyWickets · 12/05/2023 20:47

And again let’s de-rail a thread! Now it’s Eurovision!

Roussette · 12/05/2023 21:00

StickyWickets · 12/05/2023 20:47

And again let’s de-rail a thread! Now it’s Eurovision!

🤣😂

Sorry, we can't talk about anything you don't approve of, it was a nice side chat!

Do post about the thread title. I'm listening. And ready to answer. Go for it.

StickyWickets · 12/05/2023 21:28

I’m simply making observations. It wouldn’t be right to call out others’ poor posting etiquette without acknowledging one’s own failings now would it?

Or is acknowledging one’s own failings a characteristic that binds a group of people together? (See what I did linking to Harry there!)

I don’t respond to demands for debate by strangers on the internet, no matter how thick their rhino hide.
