"Kate's 'resentment' : Princess was denied a final goodbye with the Queen because she had to stay away from Balmoral to ensure Harry's wife couldn't come, royal author claims"

Kate 'resents' not having final moment to say goodbye to Queen | Daily Mail Online

According to book from Robert Jobson. Charles doesn't come of good in this book....

Kate 'resents' not having final moment to say goodbye to Queen

Kate, 41, remained in Windsor to look after her children while the immediate family headed to be at the late monarch's bedside - says Robert Jobson in new book, Our King.

And yet there is the Andrew Morton book, Diana: Her True Story. Extremely partisan, but not bullshit.

Anyone giving their version of the breakdown of their marriage includes a lot of bullshit. It may be that it was what she believed but, as often happens on this site about husbands, MILs etc., I would love to know the other person's version.

You have it, don't you? Charles went on telly to talk to Jonathan Dimbleby about his version, bullshit or otherwise, of the breakdown of his marriage to Diana. Did you miss it?

There are some things that are clearly true. Camilla and Charles had an affair. That was shocking at the time. They were clearly unsuited and badly matched. And Charles was jealous of the attention Diana got, you could tell that in interviews with him at the time.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 17/04/2023 17:11

Och ridiculous. Who really expects to be at their husband’s nan’s bedside when she dies?

I am a royal expert. I've just decided I am.
My qualifications are being able to make up stories with the best of them, and add "a royal expert has said..." or "it was reported that..." to the rubbish I've made up.

I think I could make as good a go as most of the "royal experts" that manage to get reported anyway.

How many calls have you had lately?

custardbear · 17/04/2023 17:13

notanotheroneagain · 17/04/2023 15:31

Fascinating to me how, suddenly, the same 'public' who had no issues believing all the bad press against MM are suddenly trying to reason in regards to this story.

Not everyone listens to the press, but more about M&H and how they've behaved themselves

TriedTurningItOff · 17/04/2023 17:16

This is hilarious. It's MEGAN's fault Kate didn't say goodbye to the Queen?

MargaretThursday · 17/04/2023 17:18

@limitedperiodonly

Well, I've only just begun. Maybe I can try:

Royal expert says that Harry has booked in for a special hair cut and beard trim before the coronation.
Royal expert says that Will and Kate have made the children practice singing the national anthem every day. They've got out of the habit already of singing "God save the Queen" and sing "God save the Que-king".
Royal expert says that King Charles has asked the royal trumpeters to use mutes as he's never got over the one that blasted in his ear during the Queen's coronation.
Royal expert says that Fergie is looking forward to babysitting her grandchildren while their parents attend the coronation. "I shall have it on the TV with a big glass of red wine" says Fergie.

You read it here first.

Lisbeth50 · 17/04/2023 17:18

I would call myself a supporter of the monarchy but I am getting really fed up seeing all these headlines (I havent read the stories) about ridiculous, petty things.

I don't know if they (who?) are trying to make Kate look bad or Meghan but it's making everyone look really silly. I would imagine that Kate was never going to Scotland and that Meghan didn't want to go either.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 17/04/2023 17:18

This is what someone thinks might be the case, pure speculation and doesn't make it actually true.

"what she believed"

WTF? I'm the first to say Diana was a bit scatty what with her beliefs in psychics and colonic irrigation.

I'm sure if I was a friend of hers she'd probably have dropped me in some feud or other like she did her mum, Fergie and Elton John.

But she was only 19 when she was groomed by the Royal Family and her own family, as a brood mare for their socially awkward heir who was 12 years older.

Apparently she called him Sir. In what world is it normal to call your boyfriend Sir?

Probably the same world in which people say of women: "what she believed".

Now, that is believable! 😊

custardbear · 17/04/2023 17:35

@Samcro @Roussette - isn't it in his book though, he said to Charles him and M were coming and he said no, H threw his entitled toys out of the pram said it didn't make sense to him .. ( no means no ) - so it's not made up by the media

Port1aCastis · 17/04/2023 17:43

Jesus wept yet more bullshit!
It's raining here so that's Meghan's fault as well.

mixedrecycling · 17/04/2023 17:49

It gives something to everyone doesn't it?

The Kate vs Meghan thing, and then the 'Camilla is a wicked step mother' thing.

Whereas there is no reason to think it is anything other than a random invented story to get click bait.

Samcro · 17/04/2023 18:01

CherryCokeFanatic · 17/04/2023 16:42

Poor Kate not being able to say bye to her dears grandmother because of that nasty nasty Meghan. Vile!

This shows that people will believe anything

Nono22972 · 17/04/2023 18:03

I guess Jobson's book sales are not good 🙄

CallintheClownies · 17/04/2023 18:06

what do you want to achieve with your post @RYGO It comes over a stirring.

No one other than Princess Anne got to be at the Queen's death bed (when she was alive.) It was quick and even Charles didn't make it there on the day even though he'd visited daily up till then.

The whole thing - this book- is a trashy semi fictitious account to make the author some money.

why are you so bothered?

CallintheClownies · 17/04/2023 18:09

It's totally appropriate that Charles could have said 'family only' which meant blood relatives other than Sophie who was a very close friend of the Queen.

No newsroom would give you a job if you came in with that.

You're not bringing anything new; just parroting stuff at least 12 hours later than they got it from the wires

I'd never have the arrogance to assume I could walk into a job in your industry, so why do you think you could do it in mine?

skullbabe · 17/04/2023 18:15

Poor Kate - looks like it’s her turn in the firing line.

The point being that it's looking more and more like The Newsroom is run by a bunch of 12year olds.

Whaeanui · 17/04/2023 18:24

So 7 pages in and the OP @RYGO hasn’t come back, again. What is the point in starting threads and not engaging in them? Just drop a tabloid gossip article and run?
