Kate 'resents' not having final moment to say goodbye to Queen

Kate, 41, remained in Windsor to look after her children while the immediate family headed to be at the late monarch's bedside - says Robert Jobson in new book, Our King.

Yea really given they specifically reference Meghan and how Meghan has caused so much upset to Kate.

This has got to be one of the most bizarre RF stories out there these days. Is Mike Tindall feeling resentment? That would be roughly equivalent.

I expect Mike Tindall is indeed devastated, and an article explaining how it is all Jack Brooksbank’s fault is undoubtedly being prepared for press right now.

Oh no hang on, it is only women who get these ridiculous “battle of the wives” articles written about them. Just tedious.

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/04/2023 14:51

Why do people hate these women so much?

stillavid · 17/04/2023 14:52

The article in the times yesterday about Camilla was v interesting.

I do wonder with all of this though if Charles is very jealous of attention on others as has often been reported, well it isn't a very long term view. I mean the Queen lived a long time but no guarantee he will so you would think strategically he would want to ensure his successors are popular and well liked.

Enko · 17/04/2023 14:55

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:31

@Enko If it was true Kate would feel resentment, but it is so obviously false. Kate stayed away because it was Louis first day at school. And frankly other grandchildren were not there, if the Queen had wanted anyone else extra there surely it would be other grandchildren.
I was sad when DPs grandmother died, but no way would I have thought I had some right to be there as she dies. That is for close family.
It is such a ridiculous story.

I thought I made it clear
I felt it was a insane story clearly not from the replies.

However resentment is actually a pretty normal feeling for many. And yes @Whaeanui I understand that.... I do actually read widely not just tabloids.. My point was more this is normal shit and should not be given this level of interest. This is just family disfunction
If you read mn boards life is full of it.

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:56

@stillavid what did it say?

oakleaffy · 17/04/2023 14:57

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:38

Breaking News: Kate claims Meghan kicked the Queen's corgi off a chair so she could sit down.

That’s appalling.
🤣

oakleaffy · 17/04/2023 15:01

Breaking news:
Meghan had a Corgi surgically removed from her hand after she attempted to push the Corgi off the Throne so she could sit down

What nonsense will they come up with next🤣

kirinm · 17/04/2023 12:56

Is there nothing that they won't blame Meghan for? Zara Phillips wasn't there but Kate should've been?

None of the GC's spouses were there, were they?

And let's face it, with 4 children + 3 spouses, and 8 GC's, it would have got pretty damn crowded if all the GCs and their spouses rocked up.

I'm really not interested in the royal family (I'm a republican) but the way the some of the press and commentators lay into Meghan Markle, they're making me more sympathetic towards her.

DogInATent · 17/04/2023 15:07

They're really pulling out the PR stops to make Princess Sprinkles look whiter than white to build some commoner peer pressure against republican thoughts.

gettingoldisshit · 17/04/2023 15:10

I don't think its true that Kate feels any resentment about not going to Balmoral with William. I however have absolutely no doubt its true that she was told to stay behind so that Harry couldn't take Megan! He was later than the others arriving because he was busy throwing a tantrum about having his wife go with him. I don't blame megan for that but I think it was him! Kate was probably relieved that she had an excuse to stay home!

limitedperiodonly · 17/04/2023 15:12

Whenever people get sniffy about tabloids and how it's all made up I'm reminded of Andrew Morton, author of Diana: Her True Story. He was Royal Correspondent for the Daily Star when she got to know and like him. The Daily Star is one up from The Sunday Sport.

Now I know his book was serialised in the Sunday Times, and it is true that is an extremely one-sided account of Diana and Charles's marriage.

But not many of us would claim now, as lots of outraged people did at the time, that it was all stuff and nonsense by the gutter press. It was backed up with tape recorded interviews with Diana's close friends, many of whom were parroting her words. There was a famous picture of her warmly embracing two contributors to the book on their doorstep - picture desks all fully briefed so they didn't miss it, obviously.

Journalists do make things up. More commonly, they put a spin on it and omit things. But there's nothing about this story that suggests to me or ought to to anyone else with knowledge of family machinations that there is probably something in it,

Prettypaisleyslippers · 17/04/2023 15:15

I thought only Charles and Anne were there? William etc arrived after she died? So a new n story entirely?

THIS.

Precisely.

Inkanta · 17/04/2023 15:22

Bloody hell just seen this. They really are targeting Kate' it's quite systematic isnt story after story. How do they get away with it. Is it still to keep the focus off Camilla?

xogossipgirlxo · 17/04/2023 15:22

I get the impression most of these books are bullshit.

SerafinasGoose · 17/04/2023 15:24

Two royal threads that I've seen trending today and yesterday, and both are a variation on the same theme. Media manipulation, cowardly, covert feeding of information behind the scenes, and repulsive, bigoted, misogynistic authors like Tom Whatshisname homing in on women and blaming them for others' behaviour.

The media operates on a fairly simple, transparent basis; at least if you look beyond 'a source said'. All it's necessary to do is look at who's consistently being painted in a saccharine light, as well as who is 'hurt' by someone else's actions and who is playing the victim. Poor old them.

As a broad hint, there is one specific branch of that family always publicly embroiled in in-fighting, and their covert (some would say cowardly) means of smearing others has been operating along the same MO since the days of Charles Windsor's first marriage.

QED.

They are all - all of them without exception - a cowardly, immature shower. Since day 1 Kate hasn't rocked the boat: she's never been known to do anything other than keep her mouth shut and do as she's told. As for the racist element - covert or overt; there's been plenty of both - levelled at Meghan Markle by our gratuitously spiteful media, whether primed by the Windsors or otherwise, it's nothing short of shameful. It's shown this country up in a terrible light, but the rags and their mouthpieces find it easier to project the blame onto one solitary Windsor whining that he's had a raw deal, and their bleating readership lap it all up as gospel.

As for the one hanging out with at least two known and convicted sex traffickers, least said, soonest mended as far as he is concerned. Why people are steamed up over Markle whilst letting that far more serious matter fly (not to mention Charles's acquaintances), beats the hell out of me.

Just look at the image portrayed of this bunch since (actually long before) the death of QEII. Even I, a republican since my teenage years, couldn't have imagined the gilt would wear off quite as quickly as this.

If they continue these media machinations the way they are going, they'll end up hanging themselves and each other.

Good. That'll be the day I get the bunting out.

Topseyt123 · 17/04/2023 15:25

What a load of bollocks. Complete drivel.

stillavid · 17/04/2023 15:25

@AskMeMore the article was very complimentary or at least it seemed so but there were a couple of comments that were interesting. One described Camilla as very canny and another said she would have made an excellent courtier in the 16th or 17th centuries.

stillavid · 17/04/2023 15:26

But the overall tone was although she was hurt by what Harry said she would move on etc. Her and Charles being ever so forgiving.

Theunamedcat · 17/04/2023 15:28

They need to leave kate and meghan alone

Yes. I think it's either coming from Camilla to tarnish her rival and make herself look better, or - less likely but not impossible - from William, to keep her in check if she raises a fuss over his alleged mistress and her husband being favoured by Charles.

notanotheroneagain · 17/04/2023 15:31

Fascinating to me how, suddenly, the same 'public' who had no issues believing all the bad press against MM are suddenly trying to reason in regards to this story.
