Kate 'resents' not having final moment to say goodbye to Queen

Kate, 41, remained in Windsor to look after her children while the immediate family headed to be at the late monarch's bedside - says Robert Jobson in new book, Our King.

What a load of tosh

Enko · 17/04/2023 14:28

The article also claims Harry scrambled to get there.

Anyone who have read MN knows in-laws are often tricky why would it be different for this family.

To me I find it interesting how we straight away get the Meghan defenders. If Charles reallt did ask this then really isn't it ok of Katherine to feel some resentment? As long as she is polite and doesn't you know write a book or say gives an Interview about it?

Imo though the article is pretty fake and non news.
Two sister in laws don't care much for each other.. never heard that before.

Father in law has Daughter in law he gets on better with .. never heard that before.

No it's not as she had no right to be there given that most of the grandchildren weren't.

Sudeko · 17/04/2023 14:30

Married to the queen's grandson in a formal, hierarchical family - I doubt she lost any sleep or tears over the whole thing.

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:31

@Enko If it was true Kate would feel resentment, but it is so obviously false. Kate stayed away because it was Louis first day at school. And frankly other grandchildren were not there, if the Queen had wanted anyone else extra there surely it would be other grandchildren.
I was sad when DPs grandmother died, but no way would I have thought I had some right to be there as she dies. That is for close family.
It is such a ridiculous story.

Izzy24 · 17/04/2023 14:32

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:25

Exactly. Other actual grandchildren were not there. Kate is the wife of her grandson.
This is more deflection from Camilla and the Coronation. Its all trying to get the Meghan and Kate hate from both sides going. And it is obviously bullshit.

This absolutely. How can C and C possibly imagine the public are stupid enough not to see this?

kirinm · 17/04/2023 14:33

Didn't Harry say Camilla would throw him and William under the bus to protect herself. Is that what's happening?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 17/04/2023 14:34

So is Kate falling out of favor with the press again? Or do they think these articles (there was that one about wanting Meghan to sit at the back of the church for the corination as well, I'm sure others but I only read RF board when it pops up in active) make Kate look like a poor little lamb emotionally scared by the nasty Meghan?

Seems like it.

stillavid · 17/04/2023 14:34

I totally think Kate is being chucked under the bus by the powers that be.

JudgeJ · 17/04/2023 14:21

Why should Meghan have been there? None of the wives/husbands of the grandchildren were there, what makes her so different? The Cambridge children were only a couple of days into a new school and needed their mother there to break the news to them and to comfort them. Imagine if she'd left it to the Nanny, the hoards would have been apoplectic.

That's the point of the story. That Kate not being there made it easier to exclude Meghan and that Kate resents being used by Charles because he couldn't come out and say: "Look son, I can't stand your wife."

Who knows whether it's true or not? Though Charles has form for hinting rather than just coming out with it. He gets it from his mother, I suppose.

Judging by the number of threads on Mumsnet where people tie themselves in knots and cause lasting resentment because they don't like confrontation, there might be a grain of truth in it.

Who cares? It's interesting to people who are interested in the Royal Family, which I am and I guess you are too because you wouldn't have clicked on the thread.

Whaeanui · 17/04/2023 14:35

@Enko the repercussions for Meghan of all these style of articles though is much greater, as security experts who dealt with her security have said, she was definitely a significant target and feels very in fear of her life. So these aren’t just a bit of gossip when they feed serious hate that results in threats and targeting her- some culprits have ended up in court but certainly not all.

Nanny0gg · 17/04/2023 14:37

RYGO · 17/04/2023 13:05

Read that article. It's not Kate, it's Charles. He didn't want Meghan there and he used Kate to do it.

Allegedly

Is there nothing they won't make up?

HappinesDependsOnYou · 17/04/2023 14:37

I can't believe someone gets paid (probably a hell of a lot more then me) to write this pointless stuff. I may have to change career. It doesn't seem particularly challenging. "King Charles outraged Palace officials ordered Asda own toilet rolls instead of Andrex" or "Camilla in despair as her favourite pair of tights has a ladder"

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:38

Breaking News: Kate claims Meghan kicked the Queen's corgi off a chair so she could sit down.

Certainly the coronation one made Kate sound spiteful / unpleasant. The others have mostly had an anti-Meghan undercurrent to them.

Defenderofthecake · 17/04/2023 14:40

Misogyny

When you think about it, Charles doesn't come out great if he had to set up some elaborate ploy to stop one woman attending a high security property, that she probably didn't even want to visit anyway.

MyStarBoy · 17/04/2023 14:41

Shit stirring again to make lots of money.

Really? Does everything have to come back to some kind of Meghan agenda and it can't just flipping well be in and of itself! It's called misogyny, the press roasts all women, particularly those in or marrying into the royal family like a kind of frat boy American hazing. No one is immune.

Reugny · 17/04/2023 14:43

InterstellarDrifter · 17/04/2023 14:10

Can't wait to see all this in The Crown. It'll be more like Eastenders by then.

Except Eastenders has more realistic story lines...

Defenderofthecake · 17/04/2023 14:44

I can't cope. Posters complain there are too many stories about the royals gossip. Said posters also gobble up and endlessly dissect and post about said trashy stories and gossip. Well, which one do you want! You ARE the clickbait hook, line and sinker

AskMeMore · 17/04/2023 14:34

🐴 gate.

The press loved Kate until the coronation started drawing nearer so it seems suspicious. I wouldn't put anything past Camilla but she won't get away with it for long because her flaws (insincerity, untrustworthiness) are well documented Like her or hate her, Kate rarely puts a foot wrong.

It would be intriguing if the house of Windsor gradually morphed into the House of Parker-Bowles. Could Camilla see it of her destiny of which she was almost deprived early on in the saga. Charles just comes across as the soppy idiot in all of this.

rumpsteak · 17/04/2023 14:48

Why does anyone care what this pantomime family do?

This definitely always had a ring of truth for me.

Camilla and Charles have had zero difficulty in putting their needs ahead of both their children and families.

Both of them are very single minded individuals IMO.
