No surprise he's coming on his own to the coronation.

You think Kate's was worse. I don't. And it's still going on and even more vile now.

At least KM had support from the palace. Her own hotline before even marriage.

Harry but not Meghan

I think an awful lot of projection goes on on these threads. I'm sorry for anyone's negative experiences in their lives but this blind support for a couple who have behaved appallingly all because she is mixed race is odd.

Gross comment. Ignore the racism, insult the poster. I don’t ‘blindly’ do anything. I experience racism. So has she. That’s what my post was about.

What about the rest of my post? Do you not think it's odd Harry is nc with the fil for gossiping to the media, now Harry has done exactly the same and wonders why the rf aren't taking his calls. Do you see that is hypocritical? go on admit it I dare you.

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 12:46

Please don’t talk do me like that. I will not answer questions posted that way nor will I engage with someone who discounted and minimised racism.

notanotheroneagain · 14/04/2023 12:46

It doesn't look like it occurred to anyone that H could have been wondering if he would sit next to Andrew.
Maybe he was negotiating to sit next to Eugenie/Jill Biden/The Spencer's etc. to keep them up to date about A&L. Who knows.
Most likely the palace was giving him a runaround about the sitting, tbh. Would not surprise me if they wanted the optics to be him sitting next to Andrew.

No. If Harry's gone on contact it's in response to the father in laws toxic behaviour and mistreatment of Meghan. You can't turn Harry's response against him. We all have a right to respond with no contact to toxic behaviours. It keeps us sane.

It really is disappointing that despite several women of colour frequently posting why the racist element does in fact make it much worse, that regular posters are still trying to say it was equal to white women in the family. I find that position can only come from a position of privilege of not being close to it. The kind of threats she received according to corner security experts, was far greater than almost anyone else. If you don’t experience racism at any level, I guess it makes it easier to dismiss it. In addition, social media is far different today and I think even Camilla might have been scared off had it existed back in the 90’s.

Playing devil's advocate, I think that no one is trying to dismiss what Meghan is going through but maybe that Meghan facing racism doesn't invalidate what other women in the family went through or make those experiences meaningless.

notanotheroneagain · 14/04/2023 12:54

A royalist counted how many books were written about Harry. He said some number over 40. He read them all.

As @Whaeanui has given examples above, H did not say much new in the book, except correct narratives and stories that have been twisted in books and hundreds of articles - so not 'private conversations' actually - just twisterd leaks being corrected.

If the RF say they don't want to speak to H because it will appear on his next book, perhaps it's better they are not only offensive and rude, but they also stop leaking lies that Harry has to correct later, eh?

I speak to people all the time, and if they tell the 'private' conversation, I have no worries, cause I don't go around being a repugnant bigot all the time. The RF should try that tactic.

notanotheroneagain · 14/04/2023 12:58

And goodness me, I don't know how many times it has to be said :

Harry did not backpedal on anything. Unconscious bias is bigotry (racism in this case) that goes unchecked.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/04/2023 12:59

I experience racism. So has she ...

I believe you, Whaeanui, and as another who abhors racism I'm deeply sorry to hear you've also suffered
I also agree that racism has the potential for a much wider and more insidious impact than many of the more "throwaway" insults, not least because of the complexities and history involved

What I don't agree with however is deliberate manipulation - as in the falsified headlines and the constant insistence by some that any criticism at all must be based in racism - to make things look even worse than they are. To me that just doesn't help anything, especially when the situation's bad enough as it is without the need for untruths which merely distract

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 13:00

I don’t think anyone is doing that really and certainly not H & M, who mention the misogyny in the press a lot. But racism in addition to that, is very different to what they’ve experienced.

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 13:02

@Puzzledandpissedoff thanks for your comment, much appreciated. I absolutely don’t think that every criticism is race motivated, but to me their comments originally about it were simply saying that racism adds a much more difficult layer and that a predominantly white institution simply didn’t understand.

Inkanta · 14/04/2023 13:04

To continue .. we also have a right to respond by standing up and speaking out when we are being mistreated or lied about and I don't see Harry's book as a big gossip like Thomas, he's just telling his whole story. If some members of the royal family see Harry as toxic now for being so open and honest so be it. I dont see Harry's response as toxic. I think he's probably part contact with most of them anyway now after having his say.

toomuchlaundry · 14/04/2023 13:06

@notanotheroneagain so why didn't Harry help set something up for Meghan to support her when they first got together, like William did for Kate

purpledalmation · 14/04/2023 13:06

Viviennemary · 14/04/2023 11:46

I don't think Harry has a vast inheritance. Not sure if he got anything from the Queen. And even vast inheritances don't go far given the lifestyle they lead.

I think what's she's saying is live the quiet life of service and/or privacy they profess to want. A couple of hundred million pounds would last anyone not desperate to be on red carpets every week, a lifetime. I could manage it and I'm sure you could too

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/04/2023 13:07

I absolutely don’t think that every criticism is race motivated

I know you don't, Whaeanui; even when not agreeing I've always thought you one of the more balanced posters and perhaps should have added that, but I was thinking of principles rather than personalities

Serenster · 14/04/2023 13:09

Meghan absolutely minimised what happened to others in the Oprah interview. She referred to Kate being called ‘Waity Katie’ while in a relationship with William, and said “While I imagine that was really hard, and I do, I can’t picture what that felt like. This is not the same.”

I wonder if she pictured how she’d have felt if she’d had the physical and sexual harassment Kate experienced for years thought? She didn’t mention that. According to Meghan, Kate just got given a nickname.

Rhondaa · 14/04/2023 13:09

'I don't see Harry's book as a big gossip like Thomas, he's just telling his whole story'

And Thomas was just telling his story. Folk should either agree with blabbing to the media or not.

Did he even have such a choice?

Given that HR did not want to even give MM some MH help.

purpledalmation · 14/04/2023 13:14

Apparently the midwife and obstetrician overseeing her care were also not interested. Or Harry's speed dial psychologist

And Thomas was just telling his story. Folk should either agree with blabbing to the media or not.

Thomas was not correcting anything about what was written about himself though (except for the photoshoot attempt). He was just slagging off his daughter needlessly. There were not books about him, or thousands of articles. He just came out, talking smack about his daughter.

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 13:16

While I imagine that was really hard, and I do, I can’t picture what that felt like. This is not the same.

Well it isn’t. It is not the same as racism.

Whatever kate camilla and Diana went through was nothing in comparison apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️

AskMeMore · 14/04/2023 13:17

@purpledalmation Why do you keep repeating lies when I know people have posted links showing you that what you are saying is not true?

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 13:17

He just came out, talking smack about his daughter.

Theres nothing my children could do or say that would ever make me do that even once. Nothing. I am the parent.
