No surprise he's coming on his own to the coronation.

Actually wish he was staying over there too. The Harkles deserve one another. I like to imagine them being surrounded by clouds of resentment.

Shes an appalling person so very pleased she won’t be there trying to seek attention.

Hahahaha. The woman said she's not coming and you're here writing about her seeking attention? She's not coming, she's not doing the circus thing. Why do you sound so hurt? why are you taking time to write about her.

I'm sure you're a lovely woman. Lets see your picture. Lets see what you look like. hahahahaha

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 15:50

@Cam22 do you exclusively only leave nasty comments on Mumsnet? It’s all I see from you no matter what thread you’re on. Go watch a comedy or something and lighten up

Stop wasting all your energy wishing misery on others.
Strange

Yes @LadyVictoriaSponge that was my supposition also.

A more cynical version of me would comment that the date chosen was positively inspired- but who knows what other factors needed to be considered too.

It's on threads like this where the majority of people are writing reasoned posts that the H&M haters appear most un-hinged and spiteful.

Indeed!

I think Meghan not being there makes me think less of the royal family tbh.

Why? We don't know whats happened, perhaps she just genuinely doesn't want to go and they've been trying to persuade her and have respected her decision- that's more admirable than forcing her. Maybe she feels uncomfortable going but harry probably feels moreso after his book if that was the issue. Personally I don't think it's fair to judge anyone in this situation as we don't know.

PuttingDownRoots · 12/04/2023 15:52

Probably the least controversial decision

daisy1765 · 12/04/2023 15:53

wonder who he'll be sat with and talking to during the ceremony etc as the royals don't trust him and are giving him a very wide berth

PennyForearm · 12/04/2023 15:54

Tbh I thought either he comes alone or they don’t come at all, I always thought it more likely he comes alone, as more material needs to be gathered for the next book, documentary, etc.

I expect he will cut a lonely figure on the day.

This rubbish again. How do you know?! Eugenie and her husband are close to him and she was in the Netflix doc. Everyone still talks to her too!

kirinm · 12/04/2023 15:41

I think Meghan not being there makes me think less of the royal family tbh.

Why? She probably doesn't aant to go herself. Her children are still young and haven't been bought up with royal protocol etc in the same way that William and Kate's children have so they can't go. It's also her son's birthday so she probably wants to spend time with him rather than leave him with the Nanny or her mum to go to an in law occasion on the other side of the world.

potatowhale · 12/04/2023 15:57

Does it really matter? It's nice Harry is coming and Meghan is probably going to have a nice time with her kids etc. It's like a wedding, they aren't joined at the hip.

DangerNoodles · 12/04/2023 15:57
  • want, not aant!

Me too. It's a sad reflection on the RF and their inability to manage things properly. If only for one day.

Twizbe · 12/04/2023 15:57

It's a shame the children won't be there.

You know nothing about my energy levels. What a dense thing to utter.

tinytemper66 · 12/04/2023 15:58

The haters will slag her off no matter her decision. She is best off out of it.

Are there children?

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 15:59

Oh stop @Cam22 don’t bring the conspiracy theories please 🤦🏾‍♀️

WizardinTraining · 12/04/2023 15:59

It's sad how it's worked out but I think this is the best option. I'm not overly fussed about the coronation but if she came it would massively overshadow the day and rightly or wrongly she/they would probably get booed which creates a very bad impression to the rest of the world.

Hopefully Harry is coming because it's the right thing to do not just to keep him relevant with the fawning Americans/Netflix/talk shows etc.

It's a shame the children won't be there.

I do feel most sorry for the children. I was looking at the photos of the royals attending Easter mass with all of their children and fondly remembering big family get togethers when I was a child with all the cousins running around and playing together.

Their children are missing out on all of that it seems, with the extremely small and cut-off family their parents have created for themselves.

Cam22 · 12/04/2023 16:00

Nope. but I'm not the conspiracy theorist either.

Is everything ok in your life? Are you alright?
