No surprise he's coming on his own to the coronation.

It is their birthright. If it was not given, the Royal Family would have cemented their reputation for being racist.

If she or Harry wants them to use it, why shouldn’t they?

All this title, balcony, protocol nonsense makes the Royal family sound so ridiculous and outdated.

The most hilarious is the fight about who is or isn’t on a balcony to look out at the adoring nations who pay for their royal homes (aka royal council houses).

I think I read that only 245 street parties will be held. During the jubilee there was something like 20,000. History indeed.

Well said. It IS their birthright, like it or not. There would be a hue and cry if they said 'no we don't want them' whatever anyone says on here, because we all know, without fail, they can't do a thing right.
I can see the threads and posts now if they'd rejected titles, whatever anyone says. Becaue there's constant moving of the goalposts, there has been since Meghan came on the scene

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 12/04/2023 21:42

Meghan is an extremely powerful woman
😂😂😂

I hate to break it to you but all my relatives in the US regard them as pretty D list celebs. No one talks about them there it's here we obsess about them.

Titles are Harold's kids' birthright yet it's all outdated nonsense?

LOL. OK.

Remind me which couple have their Royal monogram on their door mat again, and still have it at the top of their writing paper…?

Meghan OWNS the U.K and the whole world knows it

Lol. this literally made me chortle out loud. It’s like super fan gone wild. I think it’s the new snapped and farted. The deranged shouting OWNS is gold. I can see it on every thread about rhey from now on. Don’tcha know `Meghan OWNS the uk. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

There's far worse thrust it in yer face royal stuff going on over here, it's endless and boring

Funnily enough, I guess that fact (and I totally believe you) proves that despites all the anti monarchy stuff that goes on here, people are still fascinated by the RF.

Harry and meghan will slip into obscurity here too thank goodness.

PollyThePixie · 12/04/2023 21:37

It is sad. But in todays world people are very often brought up 1000’s of miles away from any of their family and are strangers to each other. They won’t be alone in this and they’ll probably make their own family from friends they meet along the way. I see it all the time.

That’s very true, @PollyThePixie , certainly true in our family, but thanks to technology, we can all stay in regular touch and remain close. Most people aren't estranged from almost everyone on both sides, that’s the sad part for M&H.

I hope that as adults, W & H's children can build bridges independently. I have with my cousins, although I only saw them sporadically growing up as my Dad was always falling out with his siblings!

I agree, @thebaneofmylifeisacat. I live in the US and they’re not really big news here now. An uptick of course when Harry released “Spare,” but far less than in the UK. They need to find a new cause to stay relevant-or fade into obscurity if that’s what they want.

Her and Harry maybe divorced in ten years who knows. She should have gone and shone.

You are delusional.

Can’t happen soon enough.

Anonymouseposter · 12/04/2023 22:53

The posters saying that we haven't really got a clue about the motives, thoughts and feelings of members of the Royal family are the only ones talking sense. The Royal family are very privileged in many ways but it must be really irritating for them to hear randomers speculating with such authority about their motives and thoughts. The King seems to have found a way of dealing with it with equanimity as he ages.

BethDuttonsTwin · 12/04/2023 23:05

Best outcome really. Meghan never really integrated into the family and that’s ok. I don’t believe for a moment she wasn’t made welcome though, you’ve only to see the genuine pleasure KC would show at seeing her and she seemed to like him too. I think there was genuine affection between the two of them at least. I wish Harry would shut up though. All so undignified and completely based on fury at having to pay for his own security and the two wives not getting on. It’s a shame it didn’t work out but the same things happen in families every day.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/04/2023 23:05

The same Eugenie as the ingenuous recipient of a £25k payment into her bank account from an alleged fraudster*

Hang on, @CathyorClaire what's this about?
I was aware of some questions about where Epstein's loans to Feergie ended up, but I'm wondering if this a different donor you're talking about since "fraudster" isn't usually the first adjective folk go for with him?

purpledalmation · 12/04/2023 23:05

I've no doubt we will be treated to pictures of Archie's birthday party the day after the coronation to try to steal the limelight. 😂😂

ReUseRepeat · 12/04/2023 23:19

Things have got too bad and gone too far for them all to be together in the same room with cameras pointing at everyone now. Bear in mind no one has spoken in person to each other since Harry's book and it's pretty open they all hate each other.

It would be bad for the coronation for Meghan to attend as no matter how well everyone behaves on the day it's become a soap opera, we all know they all despise each other. The farce has to end. What's the point in her showing up to show some kind of unity we all know is fake and means nothing.

literalviolence · 12/04/2023 23:26

Livingtothefull · 12/04/2023 19:11

'He wanted to step back (Harry) and Meghan but didn’t return their titles and demanded them for their children / that seems the opposite - either you are in or out.'

If you accept the monarchical system then it is not a question of 'returning' or 'demanding' titles - they are a birthright which is not affected by whether they choose to be working Royals or not, or whether or not they are deemed worthy of the titles. Andrew did not lose them either though his military and honorary ones are stripped.

Anyone who supports monarchy needs to support the rules that go with it.

Tell that to Harry who seems to object to being treated as inferior to the heir to the throne. If you accept the monarchy, he is inferior to the first heir to the throne.

michaelmacrae · 12/04/2023 23:52

being treated as inferior

It's not about being inferior (in terms of succession) but being treated as inferior that's caused the problem. Being told he's the 'spare' since childhood (by both parents), plus other things, has clearly left lasting wounds in his psyche. This is no one's fault except his parents (and anyone else in the RF who also said it).
I genuinely don't think he cares about the throne, I think he is operating from these lifelong hurts that are probably never going to go away. Meghan being treated unfairly by the media/RF probably also triggered his sense of unfairness and that's why he's reacted like this.

I don't think they should lose their titles - there are many non-working royals who also have titles, so why should they?

friendlycat · 12/04/2023 23:58

The sad fact is that it’s all rather a mess with regards to H and M. It could have all been so different. At the end of the day it’s going to be rather difficult for Harry to attend given what he’s said so publicly about the RF and specific people. Plus what Meghan has also publicly said.

But it’s his Father’s coronation, albeit with Camilla, as well. With everything that’s happened it’s no doubt for the best that he attends briefly as a solo visit.

Difficult as in many respects neither of them should attend, but family ties and Harry keeping relevance is rather important to their own future. It’s the half in half out they wanted in an ironic way!

Viviennemary · 13/04/2023 00:03

I wonder why it really all went wrong. They were both quite popular in the beginning.

Bjarnum · 13/04/2023 00:05

I doubt Harry wants to attend, let alone Meghan. But if they want to stay relevant in USA they need the material that attending the coronation will give them.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 13/04/2023 00:06

I wonder if he will go back?

he looks increasingly flakey, I wouldn’t be surprised if he just decided he’d rather be back in the fold ( if William would have him, of course).
