Harry and Meghan still not replied to Coronation Invitation

Harry and Meghan still haven't replied to the invitation to the coronation even though the RSPV deadline has passed. If it's true I think it's a bit rude. They know the preparation that goes into these events. It must be a headache for the planners not to know if they are coming or not.

Apparently Arche and Lilibet aren't invited to the actual ceremony as they are deemed to be too young. My bet is they will all come to the UK for the coronation but who knows. Not heard if Andrew is coming or not. And Fergie. Will she be there. Maybe behind a pillar.

I am not surprised that there are rehearsals already. Though I am sure whether there are 20 Royals or 19 will not make a difference (or whatever the number is) to them.

As for who will be there, I won't be. I expect the Duke of Sussex will though.

notanotheroneagain · 07/04/2023 14:52

Yep, it was Dan Wootton.

He came specially to Jeremy Vine and had a special sit to gloat about how he had one over H&M and forced their hand to publish on their website because he was printing it that night for morning release.

He's an australian Piers Morgan and spends every day tweeting shite about them. He's obsessed. Just like Piers.

AuroraCake · 07/04/2023 15:01

Roussette · 07/04/2023 14:45

Why would they decide to leak to the papers before the plans were finalised. It was obvious it came from elsewhere... I thought it was Don Wootton or someone who had a hotline to the Palace. Surely, they'd want it all cut and dried before official statements and it did seem rushed at the time, like they had no choice.

Point is we don’t know.

And yes it was that irritant.

Well everyone would be available now. You can’t keep grabbing them continuously from school to come to rehearsals.

Roussette · 07/04/2023 15:05

Everywhere I look points to Wootton. He has admitted on record he has sources within the Palace.

No he hasn’t. He has said he ran it by the palace before he went to print. He has never said who told him at all. And he wouldn’t. Nomjounralist would. The rest is us reading things into it.

There is footage out there of Dan Wootton saying he has sources within the Palace. I've seen it many a time.

For that particular article? Because in general of course he does. For this one?

If people knew anything definite, from him, it would be well known. And it isn't. Harry has always blamed Charles.

Everywhere I look points to Wootton. He has admitted on record he has sources within the Palace.

Dan Wootton claims that the story about the Sussexes move to Canada came from inside the Sussexes’ camp. I mean, he would, wouldn’t he (as Mandy Rice Davies might say) . But there was an interesting story in People magazine in the US a couple of months before that. (People magazine being the publication that Meghan’s “five friends” had earlier approached, allegedly completely unsolicited, to give her side of the story and talk about the letter she wrote to her father).

The article came out on 30 October 2019, six or so weeks before Harry complains that his father asked him to put his plans in writing, and as soon as he did so, it was leaked.

The article says:

“Several insiders say the couple are eager to escape the intense tabloid scrutiny in the U.K. — maybe even by establishing a second “base” in the U.S., Canada or Africa. It’s not possible for them to be [in the U.K.] like this,” a source tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “There’s more pressure now. There’s a shift that is happening”…The young family will undoubtedly go to Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles to spend time with her mom, Doria Ragland, with whom she’s very close.…It’s also been rumored that the couple could spend some time in Canada, where Meghan lived before marrying Harry to film her TV show Suits”

Right on the money, as it turns out. Coming from “insiders” several weeks before Prince Charles and the Palace were aware of the couple’s plans. So there’s only one side that could have come from…

@Serenster post is thinking they have a 'gotcha' moment about the 5 friends who spoke to people magazine. When they actually admitted it themselves on the Netflix show that they got together to defend MM via People magazine.

And, I could be wrong, but I think she is somehow trying to link it to the unrelated exit of the couple.

Byline once found that Christian's boyfriend Liam was leaking stories to Dan and being paid by the S*n.

But they lacked proof or did not have lawyer funds, so had to remove the article.

DW was certainly proud he could get the story out before the Sussexes.

Roussette · 07/04/2023 15:38

Thank you.

notanotheroneagain · 07/04/2023 16:20

Sorry, I think the guys name is Callum or something. But I must also clarify that Byline did show the receipts of payment, but could not prove what the payments were for exactly. So the S*n could muzzle them.

Thanks Serenester. I didn't know about that story appearing before anyone was aware of the plans. As always with your posts, supported by fact.

Not, that’s not remotely what my post is about. Maybe try reading it!

And excellent attempt by Roussette to completely ignore an unhelpful fact. 🤣

Right, so they didn’t know that then, and just made up the allegation is what you’re saying!

I’m sure we all hope the coronation will run smoothly without drama. It would cause unnecessary tension to not RSVP in the allocated time. That would be rude.

googlejourney · 07/04/2023 19:47

As they are quiet, does it not occur to you that possibly, quite possibly, they are in communication with the Palace, or with Charles, or with courtiers or with anyone

They've had months to iron out the finer details - as have all the other guests, politicians, royalty & dignitaries....everyone else managed to rsvp on time.

Viviennemary · 07/04/2023 19:54

Why don't they just reply instrad of ramping up all the speculation. That would be too easy. Sigh.

Two thousand people have been invited to the Coronation.

Have you, or the press, checked up on all of the others to see if they RSVPed?

Why, out of the 2000, are you so concerned about Harry and Meghan's RSVP? As you keep saying they are irrelevant. So why are you so obsessed?

Viviennemary · 07/04/2023 20:15

Fifteen people on the balcony apparently.
