Harry and Meghan still not replied to Coronation Invitation

Harry and Meghan still haven't replied to the invitation to the coronation even though the RSPV deadline has passed. If it's true I think it's a bit rude. They know the preparation that goes into these events. It must be a headache for the planners not to know if they are coming or not.

Apparently Arche and Lilibet aren't invited to the actual ceremony as they are deemed to be too young. My bet is they will all come to the UK for the coronation but who knows. Not heard if Andrew is coming or not. And Fergie. Will she be there. Maybe behind a pillar.

It’s funny how much people go on about the Oprah interview but not Andrews car crash one that clearly would have been painful viewing for the Queen. Especially as he made two claims he could never prove, 1 that he couldn’t sweat, and 2 that he was at Pizza Hut that night. That was a much more damaging interview than all 3 Oprah ones done by others.

Oh I’m sure we’ll all circle back round to it when the movie comes out. Can’t believe Gillian Anderson is playing Emily Maitliss

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 15:58

Omg what? @wordler is that real? Seriously?

Roussette · 12/04/2023 16:02

Oh yes... here is the cast list. It's called 'Scoop'

Rufus Sewell Prince Andrew (hmmmmm)
Gillian Anderson, Emily Maitlis
Keely Hawes, Amanda Thirsk (Andrew's private secretary)
Billie Piper, playing McAlister who negotiated the interview
Charity Wakefield, Princess Beatrice (she had a big part in the interview happening)
Amanda Redman McAlister's mother

Samcro · 12/04/2023 16:03

just been on the radio news that Harry is coming but no Meghan

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 16:04

i can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it! That’s going to be so embarrassing when that comes out for them! Wtf was Beatrice thinking then? She also thought it was a good idea?

holdtightly · 12/04/2023 15:45

How do any of you know that he will get booed? Just speculation on your part or wishful thinking.

Not wishful thinking on my part, but they were booed on their last visit to the UK and that was before Spare.

Serenster · 12/04/2023 16:17

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 15:47

Oh, I do hope he gets booed. He deserves it.

I feel sorry for people that think like this. You must hold onto a lot of bitterness.

The only person that should get booed is Andrew.

There are loads of posters on MN who are positively delighted that Charles is booed at some appearances (and thrilled that he has had eggs thrown at him, too). What’s the difference? If people can protest Charles they can protest Harry, surely?

I think this is the only realistic outcome given recent events. I can’t imagine anyone is actually looking forward to the family interactions on the day.

Serenster · 12/04/2023 16:19

Charity Wakefield is great casting for Beatrice!

Rufus Sewell for Andrew is up there with Dominic West for Charles…

StormzyinaTCup · 12/04/2023 16:19

I was just about to post exa@Serensterctly that

Well... so were Charles & Camilla outside a church, quite loudly too. So not sure what the point is...

That’s a good point - although I hope that the posters on here are most delighted about Charles being booed are thinking of it as booing the Crown because they are republicans not that they are delighted that Charles himself is being targeted.

I’m pro constitutional monarchy and like having the current set up for our head of state but I don’t mind the ‘not my king’ protestors because it’s good to have freedom of protest about our government systems.

God, the tit-for-tat on this thread is exhausting! The point is I was replying to someone asking how posters know H & M might get booed. As I said, it happened last time. My comment was nothing to do with C & C getting booed!

wordler · 12/04/2023 16:26

Completely off topic but is there only voting enabled in AIBU? Is there any other easy way to do a poll in the sub topics like this?

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 16:30

Charles does deserve to get booed. His financial dodgy dealings deserve a criminal investigation, so being booed is a mild consequence.

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 16:32

His financial dodgy dealings deserve a criminal investigation isn’t there one going on though?

Viviennemary · 12/04/2023 16:38

Seems like several sources afe confirming Harry will attend the Coronation but not Meghan or the children. Maybe that's the best outcome all round.

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 16:38

@Whaeanui Yes but I thought it explicitly was not examining Charles actions, only the actions of others in his charity?

NicolaSturGONE · 12/04/2023 16:39

H&M will no doubt be panicking as to what to do the closer it gets as they realise the other side aren't giving in either. Meghan is not as visible as she was before Christmas. As I've already said, expect a pregnancy excuse announcement or similar.

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 16:42

@AskMeMore you may be right I don’t know the full details.

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 16:42

@NicolaSturGONE you seem behind on the news

Buckingham palace and m & H announced it
