Harry and Meghan still not replied to Coronation Invitation

Harry and Meghan still haven't replied to the invitation to the coronation even though the RSPV deadline has passed. If it's true I think it's a bit rude. They know the preparation that goes into these events. It must be a headache for the planners not to know if they are coming or not.

Apparently Arche and Lilibet aren't invited to the actual ceremony as they are deemed to be too young. My bet is they will all come to the UK for the coronation but who knows. Not heard if Andrew is coming or not. And Fergie. Will she be there. Maybe behind a pillar.

Cue endless posts about this. How awful, how disgusting, how dare he come, how dare she not come and so on...

Yep. Whatever they decided it was doubtless be the wrong thing.

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 15:13

I am disappointed. He will come, the family will treat him badly, including in public, and some of the public will just spend their time writing a hate fest about him.

Throwncrumbs · 12/04/2023 15:16

Those children will never set foot in the UK, they are Meghans hold on Harry, he won’t leave her because of them. He prob will come, she won’t imo

Alltheprettyseahorses · 12/04/2023 15:28

I don't blame Meghan for not coming. She couldn't win either way, it would all be about her whatever she did because the rest of them are so dull and don't sell newspapers.

wordler · 12/04/2023 15:28

Roussette · 12/04/2023 15:10

I said all along that is what would happen. I think it's the best solution and I said so

Agreed - if the kids were older and able to be there for the ceremony it would be different - as it is they have to either leave them on their own in the US or drag them all the way to the UK to sit in an unfamiliar place with their nanny while their parents are out all day anyway.

Dinopawus · 12/04/2023 15:29

Given it's their child's birthday, it must be a hard decision for the Sussex's with no right answer. I don't suppose Harry wants to be away on Archie's birthday.

BigFatLiar · 12/04/2023 15:31

Maybe they're still trying to find a babysitter.

sashagabadon · 12/04/2023 15:37

I think that’s the best result for everyone concerned. I think Charles did want Harry there but no body wanted Meghan and it’s good that awkwardness can be avoided. For Meghan too.

50shadesofneigh · 12/04/2023 15:39

Do you really think that a child's fourth birthday is more important than a king's coronation? Regardless of what you think of coronations and royalty (and I think less of them every day), it is really such a silly thing to prioritise a birthday that a child will not remember over your granddad becoming a king - if that is the excuse they are giving. Better to tell the truth - because M can't hack it.

holdtightly · 12/04/2023 15:41

Maybe the reason Meghan isn't coming is because most of the family despise her so why would she want to be in their company?

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 15:42

I think this is a bad decision for Harry, they don’t treat him well and the royalists and reporters won’t either. I would have stayed home in his shoes but I hope he gets in and out quickly and people aren’t too nasty.

Totally disagree. She probably thought it was the best thing to do. Besides which, has she said she's not coming because it is her son's birthday? NO.

50shadesofneigh · 12/04/2023 15:44

All that talk of reconciliation and putting the past behind them now the 'truth' is out is meaningless - H&M have never want to be reconciled with the RF because then there would be nothing to sell stories about.

No one in the RF will be wanting to even look at or to be in Harry's presence anyway - this 'encounter' will be the perfect fodder to begin his next book, just like Prince Philip's funeral was.

Oh, I do hope he gets booed. He deserves it.

purpledalmation · 12/04/2023 15:44

It's just a relief that only harry is coming. It could have been worse. He'll get boo'd though

I agree. His family are shits but he is in a difficult position as if he doesn't go, he'll be committing treason or some other such nonsense MNers will decry.

Inkpotlover · 12/04/2023 15:45

I think they've made the right decision. I would rather attend a four-year-old's birthday party than have to get trussed up for a stuffy ceremony alongside people who won't want to talk to me.

Netflix must be a bit vexed though.

Sorry to hear yu want the coronation spoilt by booing. That's not very nice is it?

holdtightly · 12/04/2023 15:45

How do any of you know that he will get booed? Just speculation on your part or wishful thinking.

I dont think M has anything to prove to anyone tbh. Some of you do not like her and never will, and I suppose that's ok.

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 15:47

I feel sorry for people that think like this. You must hold onto a lot of bitterness.

The only person that should get booed is Andrew.

wordler · 12/04/2023 15:47

They should have Harry walk in with Andrew then they can both blame the booing on each other.

(I don’t really think there will be booing)

BigFatLiar · 12/04/2023 15:50

They should both come and bring their film crew for the next series and for Oprah. If they don't they'll run out of material.

You want them to do this? What... so you can then blame them? Okey doke!

p.s. There is no 'they', Harry is coming on his own. Only Sarah Ferguson has done two Oprah interviews, they haven't. What next series? Do you know something we don't?
