Harry and Meghan still not replied to Coronation Invitation

Harry and Meghan still haven't replied to the invitation to the coronation even though the RSPV deadline has passed. If it's true I think it's a bit rude. They know the preparation that goes into these events. It must be a headache for the planners not to know if they are coming or not.

Apparently Arche and Lilibet aren't invited to the actual ceremony as they are deemed to be too young. My bet is they will all come to the UK for the coronation but who knows. Not heard if Andrew is coming or not. And Fergie. Will she be there. Maybe behind a pillar.

What difference would it make? Harry and Meghan were never going to be part of the procession. And there will be boos of Charles and Camilla from the protestors. They will survive.

Charles wants Harry to come because he is his son. It was leaked that Charles wanted Harry there, but William did not. You do know most parents love their children?

I'm talking from a logistical viewpoint, not an emotional one. Yes, of course Charles as a parent would want his son there on the most important professional day of his life. But as King and in terms of the pressure Harry's put on the Monarchy with his many outbursts, it would be less contentious for all concerned if he stayed away.

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 14:23

The crowds are going to boo Camilla and Charles. It has already been confirmed that an official protest area will be allowed.
They are not popular Royals.

Can you share the link to where that's been confirmed? I haven't seen that story anywhere. I imagine any boos for C and C will be drowned out by cheers though.

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 14:26

I think Harry and Meghan should stay away.
But I guarantee that people will still talk about them. The Coronation threads on mumsnet will still be full of talk about Harry and Meghan even if they do not come.

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 14:34

@Inkpotlover Someone else shared the link on this board, that is where I read it. Google and you should find it.

I have Googled, but I can't find a specific news story about it. Lots of stuff about protests being planned in places like Glasgow, but nothing about a cordoned off area in London during the Coronation procession itself.

I mean, a pro-Republican group is going to protest in Trafalgar Square but that's not on the Coronation route and isn't being officially cordoned off for it.

Novella4 · 12/04/2023 14:40

Of course an official protest area is allowed !
I think a few lessons were learnt when individuals were arrested for holding blank pieces of paper !
I know we're are in a right wing dystopia but that was a very bad look internationally

I think it's parliament sq but I could be wrong . I'm watching you bbc for a balanced reporting of all of this !

There are protests at most royal appearances now .

No one is saying it's not allowed, I was asking where it is. It sounds like that group plans to gather in Trafalgar Square.

Other Republican groups are available ...

@Inkpotlover

Did you watch the news during mournathon ?
Asking 'who elected him' wasn't allowed
Blank pieces of paper weren't allowed

Even allowing a patch off the beaten track is new !

I hope they don't go to the con a nation but I suspect they will .
Harry is soft hearted .

But it's so ibcuos that the papers and done posters here just can't stop talking about them !
I get it though - they have a lot of charisma

Soft hearted Grin. He seems rather vindictive to me, uses every opportunity to stick the boot in as retribution for not being allowed his 'Sussex Royal USA' franchise.

He doesn't have any charisma at all, we are talking about him because the Royal family and a Coronation are a big deal and we can probably all relate to having to deal with a shit stirring relative. Thing is with Harry he is sooo media hungry that we get to constantly be bombarded with his latest crap.

Rhondaa · 12/04/2023 14:48

'Did you watch the news during mournathon ?'

Mournathon?

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 14:50

Publicity hungry? As soon as you hear nothing from either Harry or Meghan you get threads on here with titles like - where is Meghan?
Some people are pretty obsessed by them. It is why even if they do not come they will still get constantly mentioned in threads about the Coronation.

AskMeMore · 12/04/2023 14:53

So threads on here are full of whether Harry and Meghan are attending/should come/should not come.
There has been very little on here about the concert, the fact rehearsals for the Coronation went badly, who is attending the Coronation.

Rhondaa · 12/04/2023 14:54

'As soon as you hear nothing from either Harry or Meghan you get threads on here with titles like - where is Meghan?'

No. That was when Harry was doing all his chat show appearances promoting his tell all book, as it involved his time with his wife some thought she may have been present supporting him. I guarantee if they stop blabbing to the media folk will stop talking about them.

so true

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 14:57

Demonstrably false. Even when out of sight for almost a year everyone was still talking about them. Including here.

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 14:58

Yup. More than half the top 10 threads on the board are or end up being about them. It’s laughable people say they’re sick of them, they’re irrelevant…

Mournathon? You mean when he was mourning his mother? I'm no Royalist but that's bad taste even in my book.

Roaminginthegloaming · 12/04/2023 15:09

I’ve just heard on the radio that Harry is going to the coronation but Meghan is staying in California with the children.

StormzyinaTCup · 12/04/2023 15:09

I'm just hearing Harry will be at the coronation but not Meghan, she will stay behind with children.

catinboooots · 12/04/2023 15:09

BBC have just confirmed that Harry is coming but not Meghan

WinnieTheW0rm · 12/04/2023 15:10

They may have RSVP'd some time ago.

And the announcement has just been made.

The Duke will be attending, but not the Duchess or the DC

Roussette · 12/04/2023 15:10

I said all along that is what would happen. I think it's the best solution and I said so
