Really...?

He has had his State visit to France cancelled, so two days freed up.

Some families do not learn.

I expect that "too busy" is code for either too scared or can't be arsed.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/03/2023 15:08

Harry might whinge about the Palace PR system, but they certainly managed to paint a positive picture of him
When left to his own devices the true Harry was revealed ...

True enough, but then I wouldn't want to assume what we'd see if the rest of them were shorn of their PR and spin
We've already witnessed what happened when Andrew was left to speak for himself, and who's to say what the result would be if the other RF members did?

Trying to maintain an entire institution based on "how things look" was one thing in the days of automatic deference, but it's quite another in the 21st century

No one had a good opinion of Andrew before the interview, post interview it just confirmed what we already knew about him, we all knew he was entitled pompous and self serving.

TrashyPanda · 31/03/2023 15:44

I’m old enough to remember Anne getting negative press for years, especially when Diana arrived. Simply because Anne did not bother with the press; rather she just got on with doing things. It took years for her hard work and dedication to be recognised. And I suspect she never wanted public accolades - she isn’t the type.

Diana got loads of positive press right from when she first appeared. And was obviously flattered by that, after years of being “the girl who should have been a boy” and leaving school having failed all her exams. At last she was praised. She used to alert the press about where she was going when it suited her. And then realised she had created a monster that would not leave her alone.

I don't have a lot of time for any of them to be honest , however, I would never refuse to see my son

We dint really know he was refused we don't know if he actually asked tbh people are assuming

jeffgoldblum · 31/03/2023 16:29

I think it's been established he was on a plane for the Germany trip , and if the France leg wasn't cancelled he would already been out of the country, I'm assuming that it was all made up speculation, to stoke feelings from either camp.

Or out of the country on previously planned trips. But no doubt Harry will again change the narrative & play the victim

MarshaMelrose · 31/03/2023 18:25

You missed the allegations against Mountbatten? Really ? The FBI had a file on both he and his wife decades ago !

They had the gossip of one woman. That's it. 🙄

Andrew was always a piece of shit. Playboy prince, cheating on his wife etc etc. No amount of shielding has kept his arse covered.

I thought the playboy prince stuff was before he got married and it was his wife who cheated on him while he was on military tours of duty.

MarshaMelrose · 31/03/2023 19:30

I've just been watching Charles speech in the Bundestag. He went down a storm. How lovely.

Yes . You’re right.

I know, purplenation, and we still managed to discover this with all the PR in place

So I was wondering quite how bad it would be if it wasn't ... and not just for Andrew

I do think we need to look at his past behaviour as far as backhanders, topping up of finances, dodgy deals with arms dealers and ME oligarchs. Before we just think it's all OK with VG being paid off.

I think it is very very bad. And it's covered up.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/03/2023 20:10

Without doubt, Roussette, but I wouldn't be over-confident about it happening ...

Me too.

And I honestly think he will be kept under covers because of past behaviours.

I do, however, think it will come out in time. Whether it will be in my lifetime is another matter.

Oh yes! Wouldn't it be exciting if we could step, say, a couple of centuries into the future and read the unvarnished history of our own times?

Yes, but still not as laughy and smiley as he used to be.
He has two young kids. Maybe it's lack of sleep.

Do you really think people of that class have to get up with their children at night? Unless they've sacked Nanny again, of course.

Do you not understand sarcasm 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes! And all those Wills would be uncovered and public knowledge!

Not are MN. So many...."strange".... opinions are just that

I stand by what I said. Nothing unhinged at all. He used to be my favourite royal, I even thought Lucky Girl when MM married him. I honestly find him deeply unpleasant to look at nowadays and it’s all down to his awful behaviour and smugness. I did not mention hate in my post so I’ve no idea why you have.

Agree with @Whaeanui ..he looks creepy.

purpledalmation · 02/04/2023 12:58

Considering Charles was booked to go to France for a state occasion and be in France and on the news, how odd that Harry chose to appear in court for the first part which is normally only attended by the lawyers as it's all about examining the case to see if it can be dismissed or sent for trial. It's unusual for the claimants to attend and totally unnecessary. Also unnecessary to enter by the front entrance when there is a side entrance which is quieter.

So Harry wanted a big media show (he who hates publicity and wants privacy) and for his 'story' (non story) to knock Charles out of the headlines on his first trip to France as monarch. Typical of the cynicism and Pr tactics of the couple.

Unfortunately for them the trip was cancelled and later that day Charles flew out to Germany and was well received and took centre stage as we have all seen. Charlie did very well it seems 😂

Roussette · 02/04/2023 13:03

Five of the seven claimants attended as a show of strength and unity and to draw attention to the case. Good for them. You might want Harry never to show his face again... but tough. Why can't he be there with the rest of them

Elton John went in the side entrance and there was more footage of him than Harry.

Harry did not choose the court date, the courts decide that
