Really...?

He has had his State visit to France cancelled, so two days freed up.

Some families do not learn.

Can't blame him tbh, if a family member had been slagging me off to all and sundry, I'd be in no great hurry to meet up for a cuppa and a chin wag.

Harry is looking so creepy since his real personality surfaced. Maybe it’s a case of the ugly within has made him ugly on the outside too but his face makes my skin crawl nowadays. The smug smile, the evil eyes, the deep sense of entitlement, the lack of shame all adds up to an intensity ugly pathetic excuse of a man. His utter delight in himself is 🤮

This is unhinged. The nastiness and hatred of someone you don’t know is disturbing. The lack of self awareness….

I stand by what I said. Nothing unhinged at all. He used to be my favourite royal, I even thought Lucky Girl when MM married him. I honestly find him deeply unpleasant to look at nowadays and it’s all down to his awful behaviour and smugness. I did not mention hate in my post so I’ve no idea why you have.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 31/03/2023 07:45

In their shoes I'd not be alone with Harry unless cameras were running, lest he fabricate new accusations for his next book.

If he makes your skin crawl and you have such a reaction against him, why do you take time to look at him and post about him?

Your post is honestly ridiculous. You talk about him like he is some sort of mass murderer.

If you don't hate him, I would worry about those that you do hate.

He’s all over the news in case you’ve missed it, grinning at the cameras (thought they traumatised him?). I’m entitled to my opinion and it’s not for you to regulate that. Are you saying people are only allowed to have negative opinions on mass murderers?

Please don’t worry yourself about people I might hate, I wouldn’t want you to get overly anxious over my personal likes and dislikes.

You can watch what you want. You can choose to watch him or turn the TV off, and stop reading articles.

How on earth am I regulating you?! I am posting what I think on a forum. Like you. Post what you want, it's just bizarre that you feel the need to post about a man who obviously has such a huge detrimental effect on you. I'd avoid him if I were you, you might feel better for it.

I am not worried about you. Or anxious, hahaha, that is funny!

I'm delighted he is taking the media to task and with 7 other claimants doing the same.

I'll leave you to your hate dislike.

Not bizarre at all. I no longer like Harry. I posted I feel his inner ugliness now presents on his face. You are a fan of his I am not. I’m glad you found my advice to you not to worry funny, it was meant to be. 👍

Your prerogative. Your opinion.

Opinions are like arseholes, we've all got one!

(p.s. this is not me attacking you, it's me making a joke!)

Have a good end of the week Friday!

@Puzzledandpissedoff

Yes it is, isn't it. Because the court case isn't about Lord Mountbatten at all - the parties to it are those responsible for running the children's homes where abuse took place. It's far from certain whether Lord Mountbatten will even be mentioned at the trial.

After Operation Yewtree (Operation Yewtree - Wikipedia) I think we should be careful about assuming allegations are always true. Sadly, they sometimes are, and the rich and powerful get away with appalling behaviour that is covered up for decades. But going to the opposite extreme isn't right either.

Allegations should be heard and investigated, and evidence tested in court.

@WinnieTheW0rm and @cyclamenqueen

You missed the allegations against Mountbatten? Really ? The FBI had a file on both he and his wife decades ago !

Arthur Smith has v bravely sacrificed his anonymity in order to persue this case
And ( I think it was Winnetheworm- no comment on how appropriate your username is) who tried to deflect by saying the case is against the institution - ie nothing to do with Mountbatten.
The case is against the institution as they had duty of care . Arthur smith was 11 and in a care home .
Mountbatten is accused of raping him .

Nice attempt at deflection - I see it all the time with royalists downplaying Andrew's crimes

www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/courts/2022/10/17/abuse-claims-against-lord-mountbatten-to-be-heard-in-belfast-court/

I've always believed that to be a royalist you mustn't allow yourself think too hard.
You also must keep yourself uniformed it seems

WinnieTheW0rm · 31/03/2023 09:40

The user name is an homage to a MN thread some years ago, about an actual worm and its NN.

Yes, I have heard about these allegations.

Yes the plaintiff is hoping to raise them in court. No it is not clear whether he will be able to do so, as the action is against other parties. The BBC article states that Mountbatten is not mentioned in the writ, and although he is likely to be included in the finalised claim that will be served later.

That is all I meant.

Are you saying that my understanding of the legal system is faulty? Or that the BBC has got it wrong?

Novella4 · 31/03/2023 09:40

Charles and Saville
Charles and Peter Ball
Mountbatten
Andrew

It is clear what is going on here

And THIS is a family you admire and defend?
It is so disgusting

Novella4 · 31/03/2023 09:43

Really ?
You said below that the Mountbatten pedophilia was news to you
I assume you aware of all the other pedophiles associated with the 'royals'
And those are the ones we know about

Mountbatten IS mentioned on the BBC article but I suggest you read more widely and do not rely solely on the bbc .

Novella4 · 31/03/2023 09:51

This article has more detail from the lawyer

Posters attempting to deflect by saying the case is against institutions and not Mountbatten should be ashamed of themselves

You might also look into the political decision not to include this investigation in wider UK investigations.
Some boys claim they were trafficked all over the UK

WinnieTheW0rm · 31/03/2023 09:58

You misunderstood - what was news to me was that it was to be considered at a trial.

That is not yet settled. He does not feature in the writ, and the full statement of claim is yet to be submitted.

Institutions are however named in the writ, therefore it is correct to say that is what the case - as it stands legally at present - is about.

Unless, as I said, the BBC is wrong (and I'm quoting them because a) that was the first article linked to the thread and b) they check legal aspects carefully so I expect them to be correct about the writ and the full claim. But is their description of where the legal process has reached incorrect? Or is my understanding of the legal system wrong?

My aim was not to deflect, but to be accurate. Right now, we do not know if Mountbatten will feature in this specific case at all

mixedrecycling · 31/03/2023 10:46

And THIS is a family you admire and defend?

Who has said this?

I can understand why Charles would not want to see Harry at this point (even if he wasn't too busy prepping for his trip to Germany) given what Harry has been saying in the media. His trip seems to be going well, and so he is doing a good job as Head of State.

I don't know how you get from that to 'admiring and defending the family' 🤔

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/03/2023 11:44

Beautifully put about the dangers of confusing allegations and evidence, mixedrecycling. I frequently say the same myself, and while it risks the accusation of "You're defending them!!" it still seems a point worth bearing in mind

I do agree, though, that it's questionable whether Mountbatten will be mentioned at all if the case proceeds, but time will tell

Totally get this.

I used to really like Philip Scofield, starting with seeing him in Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat back in 1994.

Then the truth came out and now he turns my stomach.

jeffgoldblum · 31/03/2023 12:41

@TrashyPanda and @BellePeppa , I agree and I also feel the same about John Barrowman ! , thought he was the bees knees in doctor who , now I can't look at him without disgust!

KnickerlessParsons · 31/03/2023 13:11

I honestly find him deeply unpleasant to look at nowadays and it’s all down to his awful behaviour and smugness.

I think that it's largely due to the fact that he never smiles these days. He constantly looks as if he has the weight of the world on his shoulders - I think he thinks he has.

TrashyPanda · 31/03/2023 13:37

Yes, Harry might whinge about the Palace PR system, but they certainly managed to paint a positive picture of him.

when left to his own devices the true Harry was revealed: nasty, petty and vindictive.

Have you not watched the footage of him this week? He was smiling and looked relaxed and happy.

KnickerlessParsons · 31/03/2023 13:46

Yes, but still not as laughy and smiley as he used to be.
He has two young kids. Maybe it's lack of sleep.

Do you really think people of that class have to get up with their children at night? Unless they've sacked Nanny again, of course.
