He has had his State visit to France cancelled, so two days freed up.

That's very interesting. They're all so interrelated in Europe, especially within the Scandi countries. I think it's fascinating. I really should read more about it. So many got displaced between the two world wars that it's hard to give an actual nationality to them.
There was a programme on TV called the Royal Mob about 4 of Queen Victoria's grandchildren by her daughter Princess Alice, all of whom married across Europe. It told about the lead up to WW1 through letters they wrote. It was very good.

I don’t think Charles gives a crap about anyone but himself and Camilla. He’s proven himself to be a selfish, petulant man down the years. I’m not sure he will really care about seeing any grandchildren.

And yet it's clear that William's children are very at ease with him, which does suggest he cares enough to have a good relationship with them.

I’m not personally interested. I wasn’t commenting as a positive or a negative just that all three of his mothers siblings were of note or notoriety or whatever . It was just a comment on the influence of one family over Europe

On what basis? He seems to adore his grandchildren from William and also has a good relationship with Camillas grandchildren.

My father did this . Yes it was painful , but like Charles he has now been married for more than double in fact more than treble the amount of time he was married to my mother . As an adult I can now see how his marriage to my mother was a disastrous match and it would have been madness to condem both to a miserable life. My stepmother loves him in a way my dm never did or could and he loves her. She cares for him now in his old age and I love him and respect her for the life they have built together and the care she gives him. Bitterness never helps anyone, it just destroys you from the inside. Life happens and you have to make the best of it and move on.

He set up the Princes Trust. He has been involved in hundreds of Charities, has made sure the Duchy of Cornwall has improved housing on it's land for thousands, has been an environmental voice way ahead of his time. William's children adore him- as do Camilla's children and grandchildren.

He and Diana should never have married. She also had affairs- hers were with numerous people. He and Camilla have now been married for longer than he and Diana were together. Time to forget Diana- she's dead and gone and past any grief.

He's been treated like shit by Harry and Megan. I'm astonished they have been invited to the coronation. I'd remove Harry's titles and let them get on with it.

Yes it is, isn't it. Because the court case isn't about Lord Mountbatten at all - the parties to it are those responsible for running the children's homes where abuse took place. It's far from certain whether Lord Mountbatten will even be mentioned at the trial.
