Err no cooperate fully with the FBI and maybe make a statement under caution and then let's take it from there. As he was so keen to put the record straight with Emily Maitlis all those years ago and has suggested that he will.

Who have the FBI interviewed so far in their investigation into Epstein’s associates, Vera99? It would be useful to know which of the great and the good they have looked into.

Whataboutery - but as an aside there are 4 ongoing investigations into a former President. No one should be above the law.

Geoffrey Berman, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, responded by publicly accusing Andrew of trying to “falsely portray himself to the public as eager and willing to co-operate” and said a request to schedule an interview had been repeatedly declined.

Actually it’s not whataboutery. Simply put, if the FBI wanted to interview Prince Andrew, they could have done so. They did not need to wait for him to fly to New York and turn up at their offices (and no competent lawyer would EVER suggest that their UK-based client should do that, by the way).

The FBI could interview him the UK at any time they chose. UK and US law enforcement agencies co-operate every day to arrange for interviews with person of interest in each country to assist investigations. The fact that they didn’t, and the fact that they’ve also not interviewed any of the US based persons of interest who were associates of Epstein suggests they have no interest in going after anyone beyond Maxwell and Epstein himself. (There’s too many powerful men involved for that to happen…)

I cannot imagine what amazingly saintly families some posters must have, and what unforgiving natures they must have if any of the family saints falter at all.

It is ridiculous to think that just because a member of the RF rides in the same car as Andrew, or walks to early church with him, or sits next to him in church, and dares to smile at something someone in the car says or does, is condoning everything that he has done. Family relationships are surely much more nuanced than that.

I can tell you that it is very possible for a family member to break the law and have his/her name in the paper and have other members of that family being furious, annoyed, ashamed because of the association, and other emotions you might think of, without casting the transgressor out entirely.

Still, a spot of 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' wouldn't suit the newspapers or the republicans, so they can carry on with the threatening words, which they thoroughly enjoy posting.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 28/08/2023 11:16

oh for goodness sake, anyone who thinks it would be no big deal for the FBI to travel and interview the Queens sun is being a bit silly. It would be a huge deal and one they wanted to avoid.

Andrew at the very least, is a man who doesn't mind being friends with a pedophile even after he's been to prison. That is enough for me to believe the accusations against him that his family don't seem bothered about.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 28/08/2023 11:17

Nobody needs to be a saint, but I wouldn't associate with an abuser even fi they were family- and I don't. Abuse of children is unforgivable. I am proud to say that.

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:19

What children has Andrew abused?

Roussette · 28/08/2023 11:21

The FBI could interview him the UK at any time they chose.

I'd love to know how given he was dodging between royal properties to avoid papers being servied on him, it was a case of 'now you see me, now you don't' 🤣

They made many attempts to serve papers up and down the country

MamoruHisaishi · 28/08/2023 11:22

Disappointed in William tbh. However much he and the rest of the family may feel towards Andrew, this was a huge mistake to be seen with him.

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:22

@upinaballoon and@Serenster

royalists are in a hole with this one.
Stop digging.
The ‘royals’ have made a mockery of them selves here - no need for you to follow them blindly
As with their reluctance to pay the tax they owe, so with their support for the ‘royal’ who uses trafficked teenagers : private when it suits them
public when it suits them

For those who still don’t get it , this is public support.
He’s in front bloody seat ! They knew Andrew wound be photographed
And with Willy and Kate - another blot against Willy

How very odd and deliberate

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:23

They made many attempts to serve papers up and down the country

That was Virginia Giuffre’s civil lawsuit he was dodging. Criminal process operates quite differently.

Sisterpita · 28/08/2023 11:26

It always surprises me how much people read into situations.

I just thought it was a pragmatic cost effective way of getting to church. One less car, less security/security less stretched, less eco damage etc. I didn’t see it as W & K taking a position

Roussette · 28/08/2023 11:27

Maybe they drew straws as to who would be in the car with Andrew, and W&K lost.

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:28

@Serenster Deflection . You should be ashamed .
And why do royalists defend Andrew ? So revealing . They’d support the Windsors regardless of what they do it seems
How weird

And no , I’m not ‘amused’. Unlike the royalists here I don’t rock with laughter at the state of the Uk .
That photo says it all and it won’t go away ( or will it ? It will be interest to see if this issue is deleted as others have been)
take screenshots lol

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:30

@Sisterpita

…what???
cost effective??

it’s a cost effective way to trash what little respect they have left - I’ll give you that

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:31

Btw, kudos to those royalists do HAVE admitted that Willy has made a grave error

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:33

Roussette · 28/08/2023 11:27

Maybe they drew straws as to who would be in the car with Andrew, and W&K lost.

Roussette I can well imagine Charles telling Andrew “Soooooo sorry, but Cams and I are taking the Daimler and there’s only two seats in the back of that - you’ll just have to go with someone else….” 🤣

(there was another car with Sophie, Edward, Anne and Tim in it, then a car with just the Wales’ so it did make sense for Andrew to travel with them in terms of spaces in the cars).

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:35

Lol!!! @Serenster i can’t believe you are trying that one !

Thet put Andrew in the front seat in Willy’s car because they are short of space….
Right….
How stupid do you think we are ??

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:35

They’d support the Windsors regardless of what they do it seems

I don’t support the Windsors whatever they do, actually. I just don’t look at all their actions through the lens of abject malevolence that many posters do. And try to remember that they are human beings at the end of the day, not puppets set up to have bricks thrown at them.

vera99 · 28/08/2023 11:36

Andrew in a shared car and climate change - if you aren't working for KP then you ought to be ! I can imagine that being suggested in a round table brainstorming session just before monkey tennis (oh and the don't sweat / Pizza Express defence !

Roussette · 28/08/2023 11:36

I do not for one minute think any of the RF think of cost effectiveness! That is just laughable!

I saw an article yesterday bigging up Camilla's handbags. It was absolutely obscene. They averaged £3,000 each at a guess, and probably the ones she had used (it appeared once only) totalling £200K. Cost effectiveness my arse

The RF won't be thinking... oh dear, too much fuel to run another car. Let's squash up!

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:37

As I said - that’s the game they play

Human being when they publicly support someone who raped a trafficked teenager

‘impassive embodiment of the state’ when wanting to avoid the law/tax etc

Having it both ways

MamoruHisaishi · 28/08/2023 11:40

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:33

That may very well be the case but i don't think this will go down well with the public at all. I didn't think the football controversy was that much of a big deal, but this is a different matter. Andrew is reviled, viewed as a pedophile (even if he may not technically be one), and to be seen in the same car with Andrew could be interpreted as giving him a show of support. This is terrible optics especially when it recently came out that he's been demanding again to get tax payer funded security. The queen didn't escape unscathed either when she was shown next to Andrew a few times. William needs to be really careful because the last thing he'd want is to be publicly seen as a supporter of Andrew. That is a sure fire way to destroy his popularity.

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:40

I don’t think anyone’s stupid, I am literally just pointing out what the photos show. One Daimler with two seats in the back, and then three larger cars (that seat four adults comfortably) travelled to the church.

Of those cars, one had four adults in it (two married couples), and the other two had two people each - William and Kate and then Lady Susan Hussey and a driver. Realistically, unless Andrew had a car to himself, he was going to travel in one of those two latter cars.

(I said in my first post I was curious as to the discussions around this, and I remain so! Are there others at Balmoral who didn’t fancy going to church? It would have been diplomatically easier for all if Beatrice or Eugenie were there and fancied attending church, obviously)

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:43

Oh for Gods sake

The Windsors have a fleet of cars helicopters whatever
This was DELIBERATE
Andrew is in the front seat .
In Willys car.

This is deliberate public support . Just own it .
This is who they are
