Plus is it any bloody wonder the church has no support amount the young with this lot at the top of it

Roussette · 28/08/2023 11:46

Yes, it was deliberate. Of course it was.

You can't tell me they don't think these things through.

Well.... let me rephrase that. If they don't, or didn't, they need to sack their Press and PR people.

FinnRussell · 28/08/2023 11:50

Agree it was deliberate. Kate sitting in the back comes across as deferential too which is sickening.

Samcro · 28/08/2023 11:51

William never learns, so close after the football stuff, he yet again shows he thinks himself above it all.

Serenster · 28/08/2023 11:52

This is who they are

Novella, if you actually read my posts, you will see that I absolutely have owned who they are. I don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, but I think it looks like, behind them, the family are not treating Andrew like a pariah.

Funnily enough, I would think less of them if they took the position that they will be civil to someone behind closed doors but act like they are poison in public because of optics. William hasn’t invited Andrew along to an engagement with him. He drove him to a church service. Yes, people won’t like it. People will criticise them no matter what they do though. Chasing good optics all the time must be a pretty soul-destroying way to live. More power to them for not bending to the public will. That kind of thing leads to having to take bereaved young children down to London to shake hands with the public just after their mother died. Which William probably well remembers.

vera99 · 28/08/2023 11:57

Those holes keep on getting digged I'm not going to intervene at this rate they will reach the Australian Republic before too long !

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:57

@Serenster

yes I read your first post where you also said that it is a good thing that ‘royals’ stand publicly by Andrew as at least they aren’t hypocrites
Good luck with that attempt at justifying it all .

I don’t think you’ll find many takers though

Also we have been by ‘sources’ that Willy and Charles are very angry about Andrew and Willy was insisting that all his titles be removers and he was incandescent with rage ( when is he not)

So that was all lies ?
I don’t doubt it .

They need to get their story straight so royalists can get theirs straight too .

Its all so disgusting
And that’s the bit we k ow about becasue Andrew is thick .

Roussette · 28/08/2023 11:57

I don't agree. The Queen left behind a tremendous legacy and Charles has an extremely hard act to follow.

He should be thinking of how every single thing looks to the public. Because so far, it's not going too well.
No, I don't agree with bending to the public's will or social media... but how hard would it have been to have rearranged the cars so it doesn't look like a massive show of support for Andrew?

Ugh yes to that too

And that I agree with - as I said, it would have been a lot easier had more people wanted to go to church! Sign of the times, I guess…

Yes but there are serious allegations against Andrew that haven't yet fully been addressed because Virginia was paid off and Andrew has yet to speak with investigators about his knowledge of Epstein and the accusations against him. I just don't think unnecessarily creating negative attention by being seen with Andrew is a good PR move. And William and Charles have to think about the optics regardless of how they may feel, if they are to ensure that the monarchy remains somewhat popular and relevant. They need to be shown to be in touch with public opinion.

Roussette · 28/08/2023 12:10

Totally agree.

It is something that is not going to go away. There is a new documentary out in the US that a lot of media seem to be talking about.

Next year is the film about the lead up to the carcrash interview.

It's always bubbling up under the surface. And surely Charles/William would've known the media would get hold of this car journey with the heir to the throne and his wife pally with Andrew in the car.

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 12:11

@Serenster

So now it’s the fault of the invented ‘people who didn’t want to go to church ’

Irs a hard life being a royalist in 2023 and trying to plead with people to unsee the truth

Willy put Andrew in the front seat .
It was just like when the queen put him beside her on the way to same church

It says ‘ we are ‘royal’ ‘
’We do as we please ‘ and FU for daring to object .

Maddy70 · 28/08/2023 12:14

I honestly couldn't care less

Roussette · 28/08/2023 12:17

How strange to come on a thread you couldn't care less about to tell everyone you couldn't care less 🤣😂

It’s definitely not going to go away - the press is not going to let go! And I just have a feeling there are still more revelations to come.

unbelieveable22 · 28/08/2023 12:31

He could have joined the back in favour racist in her car

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 12:37

She was never out of favour @unbelieveable22 . Just like Andrew
Though yes a bit of a hat trick wasn’t it ?

angstridden2 · 28/08/2023 12:40

I’ve always been a royalist because of the history but have felt that the whole thing needed to be scaled back and be more like the Scandi model. Now I think they need to be very careful, support amongst younger people has fallen and if they want to survive they actually need to change not just make noises about doing so.

PrincessOfTigger · 28/08/2023 12:45

I also think they can’t just keep ignoring it and hoping it goes away. The press seems to be cycling “he’s over for good” and “is this a sign he’s been invited back?” stories weekly. They are not letting it go (and nor should they). The RF need to permanently get rid.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/08/2023 12:51

Behaving in a craven manner because it has good optics is a pretty shallow way to live, surely?

Well it's not stopped most of them so far. I do agree that the constant focus on optics must be a grim way to live, but it's hardly anyone else's fault that this is just about all they have left now

Personally I wonder if there's an aspect of "look over there" about this, considering the heat Charles has had this week over the news from the Met.
So easy to encourage criticism of Andrew's support/enablement for one convicted paedophile, when his brother's done exactly the same - and I've not noticed calls for the family to stop supporting him

Genuinely surprised W&K allowed themselves to be involved though, when the curation of their image is normally so very careful ... perhaps dad insisted?

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 12:56

@Serenster

You might have a point if Andrew had cooperated with the authorities as he swore on camera to do

You might have a point if Andrew ( and the rest of them) hadn’t used the full might of ‘royalty’ in the UK to shield himself from any consequences.

You might have a point if the MET ‘nothing to see here’ had even spoken to Charles ONCE in 2 years during their investigation

This is why it stinks to high heaven and Andrew , thick old sex abuser Andrew, is right there in the front seat beside Willy and the rest of the ‘above the law ‘ Windsors

When the Windsors are subject to the same laws as the rest of us , and not continually IN OUR FACES blatantly above the law , we can talk

I wont hold my breath.

ThePoshUns · 28/08/2023 13:03

Novella4 · 28/08/2023 11:43

Oh for Gods sake

The Windsors have a fleet of cars helicopters whatever
This was DELIBERATE
Andrew is in the front seat .
In Willys car.

This is deliberate public support . Just own it .
This is who they are

I was really shocked to see this photo. Complete lack of judgement. I've always liked W&K but won't if they are going to be backing Andrew from now on.

CathyorClaire · 28/08/2023 13:08

I would think less of them if they took the position that they will be civil to someone behind closed doors but act like they are poison in public because of optics.

And yet we have consistently leaked stories and hints that Andrew is to be booted out of Royal Lodge and lose his lavish allowance to facilitate it and that Charles is determined to keep him in deep freeze.

They can't have it both ways
