We've been lied to about slimming down the monarchy. We've been lied to about how the new queen is to be styled and now it seems we've been lied to about how Andrew is to be be kept under wraps.
To me I couldn't care how Camilla is styled. Queen Consorts have gone by Queen FirstName for generations.
Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, was Queen Elizabeth, not Queen Consort Elizabeth.
Slimming down the monarchy I think could have been possible but the Harry and Meghan family feuding has probably made it difficult. I'd been hoping that Charles would do what some other European monarchs have done and said to children/grandchildren you're not senior royals and don't get HRH unless you're in the direct heir line.
I was hoping we'd have something like only William's children get HRH and there's sibling parity, but then when they have children HRH would only pass to George's children and so on.
It was unlikely to happen with the suggestions in the press where H&M seemed to suggest if their children didn't get the titles they wanted then it was racist and then when Queen Elizabeth died they've made sure the children are both using Prince/Princess. I suspect they played that quite deliberately to make it difficult to have titles removed, and played it well they did.
I don't see how they can rehabilitate Andrew into public life other than allowing him to attend some major events as a family member on an agreement he slips off into the shadows. The public aren't surely going to accept him.
