Charles gets all the inheritance so will William.

Reported in the press , I'm starting to see why Harry might be a little annoyed. He's still a spoilt brat and no excuse for everything he's done but still I'm starting to understand a bit of the bitterness. Charles has inherited all his mother's estate 650 million tax free monarch to monarch. None of the Queen's other children have received a cut. The queen's other children will have to see if Charles decides to give them anything. Perhaps Phillip left them something and it didn't all go to the Queen?.

I'm starting to see where the spares anger and the supposed genetic pain comes from. You are entirely beholden to the monarch and the heir. They have to follow the rules and protocol but don't get the massive wealth the heir does and you spend your life being lesser because of your order of birth. One day William will get the lot of the massive fortune and in charge of the purse strings. It's really an unfair system the heir and spares thing. I thought things like inheritance would be fairer. It's an archaic system for 2023.

He's still a massive twat but I understand a little why he has a massive chip on his shoulder.

I agree with all your sentiments @Fifi0000 but like I said they probably also just want a family.. The Queen and Catherine could have stopped at two like Diana.

@vera99 has also provided us with a Daily Mail link so a double whammy in the authoritative sources department😂

Camilla sounds quite a good sort to me. I imagine an evening with Camilla and Anne could be good fun😁.

It really does say something about a poster when they use the Daily Express. The very defintion of gutter press - or it would be if it wasn't for the likelihood that what with it being the Express, someone made the whole thing up. I have visions of Express journalists sitting at their desks crying with laughter at what the plebs will believe.

Well they did share a husband at one point (gulp).

The place to go for Lady Di or Madeleine McCann rumours... or Brexit's still going brilliantly ...

Lesser to the heir. Considerably more privileged than anyone else.
The monarchy is unfair - what a shock.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 12/03/2023 12:24

Anne wasn't married to Andrew P-B. They had a relationship at some point. You really don't know much about how aristocracy and royals conduct their relationships, do you? hardly suprising, as your mind appears to be in the gutter.

And wholly reliable weather forecasts. 😆

The more serious point about this 'work' is their physical ability to do it. The late Queen ascended the throne with her partner in the flush of youth and played a blinder at the role especially so in the context of the age in which they lived. Charles and Camilla are in their mid 70s, with the full glare of social media and public commentary to contend with. If for instance for whatever reason Camilla finds herself unable or unwilling to perform the role where does that leave us ? We are in uncharted territory here if the Royal Family loses their popularity then there will be national debate of whether we need them any more. I would conclude this debate has already begun.

Novella4 · 12/03/2023 12:43

I know it's funny to laugh at the individuals in the royals family - and they do make it easy

But that distracts from the hard fact that no inheritance tax is paid , no capital gains tax is paid and the token income tax they pay is voluntary ( after they decide what is taxable and what isn't ) and their wills are secret .

Ask yourself why their wills are automatically secret .
Every other will in the country is public
Their vast personal wealth would be revealed starkly in those wills and all the planted journalists and PR wonks could not dilute the impact

ajandjjmum · 12/03/2023 12:46

Presumably the Queen could have gifted whatever she wanted from her personal items and funds to her other children, and as long as it happened seven years before her death, there would be no tax to pay.

I'd like to think that she'd given her daughter, and maybe Sophie, much of her personal jewellery some years ago.

pinkboxea · 12/03/2023 12:47

Might understand if one got left hard done by but the future king will need more as they have less options available to them to earn independently unless they relinquish their being able to be head of state.
Harry could have done all Humber of independent things to earn a living but he's chose professional whining. Fwiw it's up to the parents who gives who what and that's that. Anyone 'expecting' something is entitled.

pinkboxea · 12/03/2023 12:47

Number not Humber 😂

@Novella4 I agree. Unacceptable one rule for them one rule for another.

Thanks its Oscar Wilde in lady Windermere's Fan which I'm sure MrsDanvers knows quite well as she is channelling Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier !

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/03/2023 12:56

Well put about the tax arrangements/wills, Novella
The only thing I'd add is that a "public" will wouldn't necessarily disclose the extent of the fortunes - it's perfectly possible to do bequests by percentages instead of named amounts, as in 20% of my estate to such-and-such and the balance to 'im over there

furryfrontbottom · 12/03/2023 13:15

lollipoprainbow · 12/03/2023 10:16

Also I read that Harry's children aren't invited to the coronation but Camilla's grandchildren are. You can see exactly why he's angry with the whole situation.

Why on earth would a four year old and a baby be invited to a Coronation ceremony? They would not understand what was going on and would be bored, and possibly disruptive.

It's a racist and sexist institution, this information is surprising why .... ?

Exactly!

Novella4 · 12/03/2023 13:18

Yes @Puzzledandpissedoff that's true but my general point is the 'royals' being above the law is past its sell by date

They say they are public servants and are all about 'duty'
Let's see that expenses form then!
Camillas drying out clinic and Andrew's personal live in yoga teacher ? Hmm

We’d have an idea by the amount tax paid though.

The fact the transfer can be made and no tax paid means we’ve not idea if the £400million is a conservation estimate or a Daily Mail style exaggeration

I've a feeling that it will be Andrew who really blows the lid off the Winsdors scam and not Harry in the end .

I know people are right to say that it's all distraction from the state of the UK but 🙏🏼 for the next Andrew interview

I don’t think it will be.

He’ll whinge and moan about it and push his luck as far as he can, but he’s 63. He’s not going to be able to live his lifestyle - even if his brother makes him scale down a bit - without being part of that family.

If he gets himself cut off then there’s no more Crown Estate properties, no more family events, no more shoe-horning in when possible and he’ll take his daughters and grandchildren event further out of the circle.

Ultimately he knows that he needs Charles. And William later.

And he would have to live hated by the public and without security. No more ad hoc Pizza Express visits to him. That said he might have a pliant Gulf Sheik who would let him set up shop (rather like Idi Amin in Saudi Arabia) in some modest gaffe and let him entertain some ladies of the night in his quarters as is his wont. There he would be free to do what he wanted, be it go to a club, bar or restaurant and enjoy freebies from the autocratic despots who make it their home from home.
