The royal family

Do you all find Charles, Camilla, William and Kate boring?

I am genuinely interested, Because every single post I have seen about one of these four ends up getting derailed by Harry and Meghan.
Try it. Post about one of them and within a small number of posts people will be talking about Harry and Meghan. It happens again and again and again.
So do find these 4 really boring then? Or are you just so fascinated about Harry and Meghan you want to talk about them whenever you can?

I think you have to be quite mundane to survive that kind of lifestyle. Surfacey.

Charles & Camilla are so dull I can't even be bothered to go into them except that I suspect deep down Camilla is a nasty piece of work, yet there is barely any analysis of her. Oh well.

Remember that time Camilla had an accident and left the trapped driver watching her run up the hill to call Charles' office.
The Torygraphy pretended that she called the ambulance and police, but KC people were there first, so I bet they called the police. Why didn't she check on the driver, maybe take them out incase the car catches fire or something first. Maybe she could also tell the ambulance or whoever how urgent it is because the person is bleeding and trapped.

No I'd never heard that, do you have a link? Pretty terrible if true, and it's kind of how I've always suspected she was like.

@summerfinn That’s idle gossip and has a sordid history. H&M supporters like to roll it out regularly because they believe saying nasty things about William somehow makes H&M look more stable. Mumnset tolerates it.

Well said

summerfinn · 11/03/2023 13:41

I'm unsure as to how you could ever make H&M look stable😂

jeffgoldblum · 11/03/2023 13:42

How would an older woman pull a full grown trapped man from a car?

jeffgoldblum · 11/03/2023 13:43

I wouldn't be able to and I'm younger than Camilla !

Why would anyone judge another person’s reaction in an accident? We all know people go into shock and their reactions are off.

jeffgoldblum · 11/03/2023 13:52

Indeed @AliceOlive !
That's if it's even true of course!

Serenster · 11/03/2023 13:54

If we decided we didn’t want a constitutional monarchy any more and I was drafting the role description for the apolitical new head of state, being personally interesting/charismatic/having star quality would not be top of my list of job requirements, to be honest. Plenty of other attributes are far more important to the role - being empathetic, interested in other people, confident in lots of different situations, diplomatic, discreet, willing to comply with strict public sector rules etc would all be more important than how much like a celebrity they came across.

You shouldn’t do it anyway. One of the first rules of emergency first aid: wait for the professionals before moving any victims. You could increase their pain and discomfort and exacerbate their injuries if you move them.

704703hey · 11/03/2023 13:57

They all seem nice enough, if a bit boring 😁

That's how I like my constitutional monarchy.

If they were breaking into the can can every other second and speaking gibberish I'd think wtf...?

H&M definitely have entertainment value. It's partially due to their exit coinciding with covid so it was something to watch. I don't know about anyone else but I was a bit surprised by lockdown 1 and being trapped in one place.

jeffgoldblum · 11/03/2023 13:58

Quite right!
Was just dumbfounded someone thought poor old Camilla should hulk out and lift a grown man from a car to be honest! 🤣

For me... it's the fact we are manipulated and spoonfed what they want us to think about them. The media decide and print articles. Every now and again something slips through the net but on the whole, we are told what to think about them.

Who knows what Camilla is like, or K&W or any of them.

It's like being invited to a huge banquet with the table groaning with delicacies and only being given a teaspoon of the food on this table. Then being asked what we think about it.

Who knows. It's all smoke and mirrors.

TaraRhu · 11/03/2023 14:18

They are all pretty vanilla. They have to be in a way. Kate does a fantastic job but it takes a certain type of woman to completely mute her own opinions and spend her youth waiting to be proposed too. I'd love to know what motivates her? Social status? Power? The official line is 'love' but I think she's actually more calculated,

William seems happy to be in Kate's shadow. I think he is more boring! 😂 He strikes me as very straight and somewhat bad tempered. I'd love to know if the rumours are true about him and us roving eyes. I think that would make June a bit more 3 dimensional.

Charles is a pampered little prince. If being king was a job, I don't think he'd ever get it. He is opinionated and feels ever so sorry for himself. I don't think he's ever regretted the way he treated Diana. She wasn't perfect but she was too young and naive to enter into that sham marriage. I think he's attached to Camilla in a needy way. But he does have a modern attitude to the royal family - which is needed. I really hope he turfs Andrew and freeloading fergie out of Royal lodge.

I think Camilla is perhaps the most interesting one. I don't believe she ever wanted to marry Charles. I think the point of her affair was to piss her husband off who was constantly unfaithful to her. Charles was besotted with her and I just don't believe she felt the same. I think she loved her husband more. She then got roped into marriage to salvage her reputation. She has to mummy Charles and I don't know how she can be bothered. I think they are good companions but I think Camilla would have preferred to remain mrs Parker Bowles with a faithful mr Parker Bowles.

Here's a report of the accident

Yes I agree with that. I think she also might have felt an obligation to Prince Charles to be his mistress. If he'd not pursued her she would have been okay. I think she loved the rakish Parker Bowles too.

AliceOlive · 11/03/2023 14:43

Conjecture like this kind is exactly the people who like to conjecture about Meghan and Harry and their marriage. It’s gross!

DessertsForAll · 11/03/2023 14:48

It was awful behaviour.

@Serenster Yes instead you just run away and do nothing.

Roussette · 11/03/2023 14:51

Blimey 😲

So, leaving the scene of an accident which is breaking the law, doesn't apply if you are sleeping with a member of the RF ! please note, I could've been more rude here, but refrained.

It was a month before Diana died.

DessertsForAll · 11/03/2023 14:53

And it was not a man left in the car Camilla hit but a woman. Those rubbishing this have not even read the article.

OP posts:
DessertsForAll · 11/03/2023 14:54

@Roussette The law does not apply to the Royal Family. Just look at Andrew. This is just another example.

AliceOlive · 11/03/2023 14:56

Oh please - Mrs Parker Bowles left the scene of the accident to use her mobile telephone to call the ambulance service and police from a nearby hill.

Not sure why you’ve tagged me when I just pointed out what you get taught in first aid, but no, you don’t do that either. Leaving the scene of a motor accident you were involved in and not reporting it is an offence (obviously not always prosecuted before anyone decides to tag me with a query about that, but an offence nonetheless, to encourage people to stay at the scene and call for assistance).
