Do you all find Charles, Camilla, William and Kate boring?

I am genuinely interested, Because every single post I have seen about one of these four ends up getting derailed by Harry and Meghan.
Try it. Post about one of them and within a small number of posts people will be talking about Harry and Meghan. It happens again and again and again.
So do find these 4 really boring then? Or are you just so fascinated about Harry and Meghan you want to talk about them whenever you can?

OP posts:

I like them exactly as they - it's not about them. It's about the U.K. / commonwealth

I'm curious how one is meant to visit a center collecting donations for the recent earthquake in turkey and Syria and be colourful (versus beige)?

Start breakdancing?

RitaRitaRita · 11/03/2023 01:29

Meh ... Just find them boring and a bit mechanical.

MarshaMelrose · 11/03/2023 01:37

I was shocked and upset when Diana died. I thought she highlighted some serious issues and changed opinion on different topics. But after she was gone, everything did seem to be so much calmer with the family just getting on with their everyday work. I really don't like this sniping. It's unsettling.
So I like the 4 because they're comfortable and quiet, and seem at ease and happy.

Nah if we must have them the least they can do is entertain. Not just wave in another coat dress with a rictus grin.

Are you from the PR firm representing the word rictus then? If so, great job! I’ve seen it three times here today after passing 50 times around the sun without ever noticing it before today.

You should be a shoe-in for Sesame Street!

MintJulia · 11/03/2023 02:28

No, but I've met Prince (now King) Charles twice and he wasn't boring at all.

M&H on the other hand...self obsessed and embarrassing.

Josette77 · 11/03/2023 02:32

Love them alll, especially Kate.

MissTrip82 · 11/03/2023 06:58

I imagine they're quite nice. Most people are. They're in a position I certainly don't envy.

I think Camilla would be the most interesting to talk to.

Bigmirrorssmallrooms · 11/03/2023 07:01

No, not boring but they don’t do mad shit. Harry and Meghan , mainly harry now thought to be fair, pull serious mad shit. That’s why everyone talks about them.

LlynTegid · 11/03/2023 07:03

Sometimes boring has a place. I don't mind if they are boring, if it means they are representing the country and supporting charities.

Better a boring monarchy than someone like President Trump as head of state.

"This post was brought to you by the word 'rictus'..." if I remember Sesame Street correctly Smile

It was the same with "vitriol". While it was a change to read something different from "hate", it was adopted so enthusiastically that it got tedious very quickly.

GobbieMaggie · 11/03/2023 07:18

No, I don’t.

WeWereInParis · 11/03/2023 07:19

I guess, but not in a bad way. They turn up to whatever event/charity/engagement it is, do their job, go home. I'm not sure they're meant to be that interesting on a personal level are they? They're meant to be professional. Sometimes the causes are interesting though - I mean sometimes they're personally interesting to me, I'm sure all the causes are interesting to various people.
I felt the same about the queen.

They may not be boring in their actual lives, I have no idea.

tweetienat · 11/03/2023 07:20

The British royal family are about as boring as dog turds. Always have been unless the media is manufacturing some kind of story out of them.

IwasToldThereWouldBeCake · 11/03/2023 07:23

Yes, snooze fests, particularly the younger two, but I guess they are grey rocking the peasants.

JustLikeAStatue · 11/03/2023 07:23

Not boring, reliable with a sense of duty. Gilded cage and all that, I'd rather have my ordinary life than the life they live.

The other two are irrelevant. No interest in them or their antics at all.

Adrelaxzz · 10/03/2023 23:43

I hate to admit it but I would judge anyone that liked them as a bit thick.
I would assume that they had been taken in by the media and not realised.

Good call!

QuintanaRoo · 11/03/2023 07:28

There isn’t a single member of the royal family apart from maybe Zara Tindall who I find interesting. I think it’s in their dna to be dull. But I guess that’s their remit, don’t have an opinion, just be steady.

tweetienat · 11/03/2023 07:28

I think life as a roayl would be even more boring than hearing about them all the time.

flapjackfairy · 11/03/2023 07:30

I like Will and Kate in particular. I think she is anything but boring in real life as it were but plays the role well to avoid the drama so hats off to her.

I also have a lot more respect for Charles and Camilla since the Queen died. I think they are doing a good job under v trying circumstances.

TheVanguardSix · 11/03/2023 07:31

I’ll tell you what, they’re giving the public a masterclass in grey rocking. No Oprah’s garden for them. 😆

SuperGinger · 11/03/2023 07:38

Charles once expressed a desire to be Camilla's tampon. I find it hard to take him seriously.

Camilla stuck by a man who wanted to be her tampon. If someone said that to me I'd have nothing but contempt. I'm sure Camilla is okay but let down by her choice of husband

William just comes across a as a tim not so nice but dim, extremely privileged waste of a good education, unable to keep his pecker in his pants tool.

Catherine might be okay but she should ditch Willy if he is a cheat, she is worth more than him and is smarter. I wish didn't tow the line so often.

Oh the irony of that first sentence!

I open a thread to read about the four people in the title, and the very start of the opening post it's all about two other people.

OP: why do you do it?

No matter how often people point out that he said no such thing (it was a "heaven forbid" comment) this misrepresentation crops up.

It shows how much people rely on tabloid inaccuracies - this one is still going strong several decades on!

DuchessOfPort · 11/03/2023 07:44

I don’t want exciting royals, any scandals in the last 40 years have looked very unpleasant to be involved in*. A bit of peace and reliability is ideal, and if they can herald a British fashion designer at the same time, good!

Visiting alloy firms in Sheffield and palliative care centres or opening an international plywood importer’s premises, admiring dairies day in day out is not for everyone.

*I don’t mind if they win Olympic medals.

Coxspurplepippin · 11/03/2023 08:06

Boring? What would you actually have them do to be more 'interesting'. I think we've become so used to celebrity shenanigans that any one who behaves with a little decorum is classed as boring. We want all the details of their lives laid out to gawp at. Well, some do.

There's lots of derogatory comments about William on this thread with no reason - he seems a decent person who is trying to create a stable famIly environment for his children.

'William just comes across a as a tim not so nice but dim, extremely privileged waste of a good education, unable to keep his pecker in his pants tool.' no evidence for any of that - in fact he has a decent degree from a good university.

'The British royal family are about as boring as dog turds.' lovely.

'Yes, snooze fests, particularly the younger two, but I guess they are grey rocking the peasants.' no idea what that even means. Or is it that you want them hugging everyone they meet to show how 'human' they are?

Charles is Head of State, not AntnDec.
