What happened to just call me Harry? Why would they want their children to be burdened with titles?

“When reached by PEOPLE, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: "I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor."

@Roussette I agree with you. To me, Meghan always looks effortless stylish. I love her chic, understated style. But as you rightly say, we don't see many pics now that she living out of the spotlight much of the time.

Thanks yes. There have been outfits I have disliked that she's worn. I really didn't like that church service emerald green outfit with the cape and matching hat. But it was the cape particularly that didn't do it for me, too flowing and weird.

And early on after they left, she wore a red monstrosity, huge strappy long thing for an awards ceremony that was more kardashian than Meghan.

But on the whole I like her style.

I dislike MM a very great deal but loved her funeral outfit.

I also liked the green thing she wore to one of the last Royal public appearances she did. That really structured style suits her IMO.

I have nothing else good to say about either of them though.

Snap on the green outfit!

Living out of the spotlight? Gosh I hope that’s true. 🤞🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

With Charles now king, she is officially a princess. Gross hypocrisy to use the title in California but to be expected from Harry and Meghan whose entitlement knows no bounds.

I doubt the title will be used around California though because it's just laughable that celebrities and commentators will be calling her princess lillibet. Will sound absurd.

Pretty much to be expected coming from a woman who declared the royal family didn't own the term 'royal'. Well neither does she having stepped back from royal duties and it was just a merching tool. Let's see if they can merchandise their little prince and princess.

Calm down, you're obvious hatred is obvious, but this is a child you're frothing at the mouth at, please show some decency.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 14:15

@vera99 Sop,ease explain what is grubby (your words) about a teenage going to his sisters funeral?

ancientgran · 08/03/2023 14:16

Roussette · 08/03/2023 14:07

Yes, that is her birth name. She uses the name Meghan. But not Meagain.

It gets a bit confusing on here, Kate "changed" her name to Catherine which was her birth name but Rachel Meghan's name is Meghan. The way things are judged is so skewed isn't it.

SnowAndIceLobelia · 08/03/2023 14:16

Are we disagree on the green outfit @Roussette !

I whole heartedly agree on the red monstrosity though.

I think Meghan's style suffered when she was a working Royal. She was may more chic before and now after.

I would also hate the constraints of dressing as though you were attending a wedding everyday which seems to be how lots of the royal ladies dress.

However, I suspect this will change as time passes on and they aren't having to fit in with the Queen's tastes which seem to have been formed a long time ago as far as fashion goes.

I think she has genuinely just lost her way a bit, as everyone does at times. Obvs her body has changed after two pregnancies and I don’t think she gets things properly fitted. Even her hair I dunno if she relies too much on extensions now? Plus she really looks great in colour but she seems to have shied away from that a great deal in to those California luxe beige, olive, grey tones. Looking forward to see if she pulls it out of the bag for the christening! Harry will be wearing a bloody grey suit regardless lol

SnowAndIceLobelia · 08/03/2023 14:16

That word was meant to be 'aaaah!' not 'Are' . Honestly my spelling is atrocious on this site sometimes.

Oh dear I’m cringing for them 😂😂

You’re not, though, are you, because why would you care about the choices made by people you don’t know?

WeWereInParis · 08/03/2023 14:18

Assuming this happens and as it looks as though Princess has been registered as the first of 3 names, would that not effectively make her Princess Princess Lilibet?

She's not been registered with Princess as a first name. They've christened her, not changed her name. It doesn't say "first name - Princess" on her birth certificate

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 14:19

stillavid · 08/03/2023 13:48

I wish there were photos of the christening as I would like to see what people wore as I am superficial and like Meghan's style.

The photos will be on a large magazine spread and they will be paid $$$$ for them. So you need to wait for them to do this.

MeridianB · 08/03/2023 14:19

Their protestations about privacy and security mean nothing when they do something like this.

I really hope the LPs are changed asap. Time for these two and Andrew to be completely sidelined.

I think you know the red one I mean! I hate it when it's so structured on the tits, it looks mega weird. It did her no favours.

But most of the time she gets it right.

Neither of them changed their name.

Kate was known mostly by Kate (certainly by W&H if you watch early interviews) but has elected to use the full form of her name for "work" - not unusual at all, the baby name board is full of posters looking for a "birth cert" name that has a shortening they like.

Meghan goes by her middle name, again a very common thing. Perhaps more common in Ireland where I'm from but I can think of plenty of examples just from my family and friends.

Anyone making a point about anyone's name is really just making themselves look a bit ridiculous.

Really? Do you know that is going to happen?

Zara did a Hello spread for £150,000 her firstborn though, so it's not unusual.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 14:22

adrianmolesmole · 08/03/2023 13:50

as for being brought up in privacy in LA? Don’t make me laugh.

Well, how many hundreds of threads have there been asking where is Meghan? They are pretty capable of privacy, aren't they.

Well her absence has been to allow Harry to make a fool of himself earn the money. She's working in the background pulling his strings. She's networking and trying to pull off deals. However she's nowhere near as clever as she thinks she is and I think they will all fall through, like Pearl.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 14:24

@vera99 Stop digging. Your hole is deep enough.

SenecaFallsRedux · 08/03/2023 14:24

Kate didn't change her name, of course, but even William referred to her publicly as Kate before they were married. Supposedly that is how she was known at university where they met. After the marriage, he referred to her as Catherine. I assumed at the time, the change was made as more appropriate for a princess and future queen.

Of course, that has not changed the rest of the world, who continue to call her Kate and even Kate Middleton.

Rachel Meghan has always gone by Meghan. Lots of people use their middle names as their main name.

MarshaMelrose · 08/03/2023 14:25

Roussette · 08/03/2023 14:11

Do you correct people on everything on every thread? I am not the thread police for every nickname that pops up on these threads. I find the Meagain grating and I'm allowed to post correcting it.

You are. But if it's wrong to call one person a wrong name to insult, surely that applies to everyone. To correct people sort of means you are taking on the role of thread police so I'd think you'd apply that evenly. And, yes, I am pretty consistent on correcting people over factual errors. I'm not that happy how Harry has behaved but I do stand up for him when people say incorrect factual statements. Andcapologise when I get things wrong. Seems hypocritical otherwise.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 08/03/2023 14:26

I assumed the whole name confusion on here started because one poster maybe mistyped Meghan as Meagain. Another poster thought this was meant to be a dig at M (Me-again) and so responded in M's defence?

Or am I talking bollocks!?

Woolftown · 08/03/2023 14:26

Anyone else find it strange that they have announced an inherited title for Lili on international women's day?

bumpytrumpy · 08/03/2023 14:26

OutOfChocolate · 08/03/2023 13:29

@thebellagio Tyler Perry told the press he was godfather. It should be his choice. We do not know who the other godparents are.

This.

Tyler can make his own judgement and clearly feels he has the security and persona to deal with the press.

By not revealing the others names H&M are protecting them from the press intrusion which has tormented everyone they have contact with.

Personally I think reading Spare should be compulsory before being allowed to post about H&M.

ShandaLear · 08/03/2023 14:26

Royal titles are mad altogether. Using them is the equivalent of walking round yelling ‘I AM SPECIAL. DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?’

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 08/03/2023 14:27

What about all the 'genetic pain' that being royal and having a title caused their father? Why would he want that for his own DC? because they are both hypocrites who love all of the pomp and circumstance and are savage that their flounce has been unsuccessful
