What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

Here’s why it was never going to work.

And also why Harry’s claims of everyone else “briefing and leaking” are not credible.

There could be only one source for this story. This is how Meghan began her relationship with Harry’s family.

You do have to hand it to her, she absolutely began out of the gate showing her true colors.

A gossip site? They are bottom feeders.

You are another poster then... who was determined it wasn't going to work!

I have no idea what your point is about 'her true colours'. I ignore gossip sites for what they are. Gossip.

AliceOlive · 02/03/2023 15:07

Lainey is Meghan’s friend in Canada.

I would LOVE it if they attended!

Could you tell me why?

I am curious. Given you can't stand them.

Why? You hate them.

AliceOlive · 02/03/2023 15:11

Actually maybe they aren’t friends. But have friends in common. Anyway, that “didn’t take me shopping” shopping story obviously came via Meghan and her friends to Lainey.

AliceOlive · 02/03/2023 15:13

Roussette · 02/03/2023 15:08

Who?

The woman who runs that gossip site. The story she printed so early on about Kate not taking Meghan shopping. How do you think a Canadian woman who runs in the same social circles as Meghan got that all the way from London?

How do you know that is about Meghan?

By the date that was published, February 2017, the relationship was confirmed, and by October 2016 she had met the Queen, William, Kate, Charles, Fergie. I am confused as to why you think this Blind Item published 4 months after the relationship was announced and 5 months after she met the family, is how she "began her relationship with Harry's family"?

Bloody hell. You don't half make it up as you go along. There is no 'obviously'. Apart from in your head.

If I suggested some of the stuff you post on here (but more pro Meghan) I would be absolutely annihilated. I would have countless posters demanding proof. I would have them hounding me for 'sources' endlessly. And then over years to come, the fact I made something up, would be thrown back in my face again and again and again. And even if I apologised, it would be personal attacks all the way.

See my post to you above. You are talking bollocks

ReneBumsWombats · 02/03/2023 15:17

I can't help but feel that if Kate had snubbed Meghan for a shopping trip, we'd have heard about it in Spare. Was it in there? It was such a forgettable mess of a book that I'm not sure.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 02/03/2023 15:18

@ReneBumsWombats

It definitely wasn't here!

I'd hate to be your enemy then. Because you give a good impression of disliking them intensely.

Serenster · 02/03/2023 15:21

How do you know that is about Meghan?

Omid Scobie also wrote about the incident in Finding Freedom too.

It was definitely Meghan talking about Kate. And posted as a “blind” on an online gossip site run by Toronto-based Elaine Liu, who worked with Meghan’s BFF Jessica Mulroney’s husband. There’s even a picture of Meghan, the Mulroneys and Elaine Liu all out for dinner together when she was living in Toronto.

Attempting to claim that story had no link to Meghan is more than a bit silly.

VixenTodd · 02/03/2023 15:22

You know what the answer will be? Meghan never wrote that book 😁

MrsMaxDeWinter · 02/03/2023 15:23

I predicted yesterday that there would be lots of friends taking about how much Charles loves Harry.

Right on cue, here is the Sun:

_

Pearce reckons that tension and drama between the Sussexes and the King will have no impact on the American-based Royals’ invite to the Coronation.
Pearce feels while publicly Charles is seen to be at war with Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, privately he, as a “very kind, sensitive, compassionate man”, is keen to not only have them attend his coronation, but try for peace.

This week The Sun revealed Charles ordered that Meghan and Harry be evicted from their UK base Frogmore Cottage - in a move dubbed "Frogxit".

Pearce feels that Charles is open to a “reconnection” with his youngest son, despite attacks on the family in his Netflix series and memoir Spare.

However, the parties do need to achieve “healing” in the next few weeks.
“The big question is will the Duke and Duke Of Sussex on May 6? And the answer is yes, of course. “And yes, there is a lot of healing that needs to take place between the household of the Sussexes in the USA and the hegemony in the UK.

“That is the intention that is vital, alive and crucial to allow this wonderful reconnection to take place. Deep in my heart I believe this will happen.”

Pearce says that the media portrayal of King Charles is much harsher than his true “softer nature”. “Fundamentally I have observed Charles all of my life. I was born into it (Royal circles) and my parents were servants," he said.

“Actually my father taught Charles how to tie his tie.

“There is a certain amount of privy detailing that I have. And I believe categorically that Charles is reviewing the so-called breach that has been created by the departure of Harry and Meghan into a new life in the United States.

"I believe he is regarding it is a testament of healing

“This is a very kind, sensitive, compassionate man that has proved to us the uniqueness of his consideration of climate change, the environment etc.

“This is a peacemaker at heart. This is a great healer.

“Of course his heart is absolutely open. If anyone has read Spare you will read that Charles is always saying my darling boy to Harry.

“So I believe the intention is that all will be well.”

Well, you're the one who made up a story a bit earlier about posters viewing Meghan as a young fairytale princess even though she was 38 or something that bore absolutely no resemblance to anything anyone said, so call it even.

I do think it's fair to say you...are not overly fond of them. So why on earth do you want them there.

Prove it.

That's what I get asked if I came up with a 'theory' like this

MarshaMelrose · 02/03/2023 15:24

She has more charisma than the six of them put together. They just did not expect that the only born royal with any charisma or personality than all of them, Harry, would go with her too.

I can't say if other people find them charismatic or not, but I find them compelling to watch. However, charisma does not equal good leadership or good judgement and it's fickle. Harry used to be my favourite royal, now I can't even be bothered to watch his interviews. He's exposed so much of himself that he now comes across to me as a one trick pony, whiney and a bit of a bore. That's sad because I think he has the means to be more than that. But actually, maybe that should be, I thought he had the means... However, I don't think that should impact on Meghan. She loves him but she shouldn't be tarred by him.

I don't think she should get criticism for her acting work. Loads of actors on TV aren't that great but she paid her own way so I don't see it better or worse than her doing any other job and she doesn't deserve insulting for that. But Suits was unknown to the vast, vast amount of people in the UK as was she. But that's no reflection on her - it just wasn't shown on the commonest TV channels here. And it was never the second most popular show behind GoT. 😂 That's some sort of PR fantasy there.

She was new and interesting in the UK but she only worked six months. That's nothing. The six members of the RF have worked for years doing unpublicised grunt work of shaking hands, talking to boring, and someyimes unpleasant people, putting on a smile when they don't want to and lifting people's spirits. Even non-royalusts say that visits from them have been enjoyable. Charisma doesn't replace that. She couldn't hack the criticism that comes from being in that role and, honestly, she faced nothing in comparison to Diana, Camilla and Kate. And even Anne used to get lots of personal attacks about her looks, her wardrobe and her personality. Shesxafmired these days but that didn't ysed to be the case.

It was always held that Bill Clinton, Tony Blair and Boris Johnson were charismatic. All of them crashed in office. The best leaders and workers are those who just get on with routine work with reliability and good will. Charisma is over-rated.

AmandaJonah · 02/03/2023 15:25

"It's what happens when you create a situation based on primogeniture, who is born first, and not who is right for the job. Add to this the entitlement that because X is ranked number 3 or 4, there is no need to even study to be better at the job, No continuing education, no public speaking lessons, no diversity training. Just weird protocols and gossip and backbiting and worrying about who curtsies to who."

I agree with this. Given it is their only job, some of them are very poor at public speaking and very poor at talking to the public. I know some people are naturally better at these tasks than others, but those who are not that good do not seem to make any real effort to improve.

LOOL Charle's can't even stand in his vindictiveness. He needs to be ruthless with his whole chest.

Even assuming the story is about Meghan, which I don't know, you have said she is friends with this Lainey person. As is her friend Jessica. Perhaps they talked about the incident as weird, as friends do, but what makes you so absolutely certain Meghan planted this as a story? I genuinely don't get the link?

"How successful was Suits series? Since its 2011 debut, Suits has been steadily building momentum and critical praise. Last summer, the first 10 episodes of Season 3 drew 5.36 million viewers, also becoming USA's highest-rated series of 2013 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demo."

I know it was little know in the UK, but that is because it was a US show.

VixenTodd · 02/03/2023 15:30

You want a poster to provide written evidence that Meghan authorised her friend to blog about a very outing gossip item based on an incident involving only her and this one other person?
Something like: "Dear Lainey, lets teach the stuck-up cow a lesson for ghosting me. Run the story I told you over dinner about Kate Middleton. Love Megz"
