What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

Can't see why Harry & Co would want the house, nor should they have it after all that they've done. Good idea to put Andrew in it, it frees up his bigger place.

If no-one wants it, I'll rent it, Frogmore is a nice little place....!

Adrelaxzz · 01/03/2023 06:47

I am beyond disgusted that the filthy Andrew is being allowed to remain to be given things like this. The pervert should be in prison.

megletthesecond · 01/03/2023 06:50

Is it a downgrade for Andrew? Anything that winds him up is a bonus.

Yes, it was all over the news that as part of slimming down the monarchy, Charles cut Andrew's allowance. So he can no longer afford the 100 roomed place he had earlier leased for 75 years.
There was a sad face picture and all.

I'd certainly love if I could rent it for what they do!

Largely because I hate the impression these threads can give

I have spoken to foreigners who see stuff like this and genuinely believe that people in the UK follow or care about the royal family.

Sure, some do, but they simply don't feature in the consciousness of the vast majority of the population, very few people in real life have any interest at all in what they are doing.

I hate these boring non-threads that clutter up the active boards, with the same tiny numbers obsessing about complete strangers, who knows why.

And I do feel duty bound to pop onto them occasionally and point out that to most of the population this is a non issue, happening to non people, who most people in the real world don't give a fig about

Nope, he didn't. The articles claimed Charles could like they always do but no action was taken. I doubt Andrew will give up the lodge either. The RF like to seem punitive towards Andrew but these threats never materialise.

Calling the RF non people is quite dehumanising, please don't do that.

Charles has EVERY RIGHT to evict them but I firmly believe they should be paid back the renovation costs.

Why are you SHOUTING IN YOUR POSTS?

sorry, of course they are people, - they are people who have had the worst luck in the world, the position they have been born into, and I am desperately sorry for them.

I mean their media personalities are "non - people" just PR ghosts

Crumpetdisappointment · 01/03/2023 07:24

i think it is a good move housing andrew in a small cottage
it is not actually kicking out M & H when they dont even live in the country!

Symbolism in evicting the alleged rapist from his huge mansion and moving him to a house which a previous occupant felt wasn’t grand enough for a royal? I really hope Andrew gets that message, too.

Which previous occupant? Harry and Meghan were very happy with it. I think you're getting confused with 'Nott Cott'.

The story says they were evicted and have to move their stuff out. Harry also has to have a permanent UK residence for tax purposes and being a counsellor of state, if I recall correctly.

Didn't realise it was still in their names after Eugenie and her family had been living there.

Makes sense, they're never here. If they do come for the coronation or anything else, there's probably a crash pad somewhere at his dad's place.

So just hide the bloody thread.

For someone who "doesn't care" you seem to have given it a lot of thought.🙄

Yeah, it remained theirs but they had a private agreement with Eugenie and Jack.

If he purchases some grotty little one bedroom flat somewhere in Nowheresville to meet the requirement, I swear I'll like him a bit.

And yet the most irritating part of these threads, which are on the RF boards and clearly labelled so no need to mistakenly click are those who come on to spout how much they don't care. Eurgh.
