What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

I mean I can’t see arguing over which millionaire gets a freebie country house provokes much sympathy from the public either way, but if it has to go to someone I would rather it wasn’t a sex offender 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am not sure when he did that, if he even did. It sounds incredibly tame and like a very normal complaint to have about one's parents. But no, he was not kicked out of the home he was living in at any time, to our knowledge. Neither were Harry and Meghan. They don't live in Frogmore.

Also, we have no idea what transpired between Charles and his mother. Because he didn't tell an Omid Scobie type every time he had hurt feelings to report.

They were evicted, they leased and paid rent. Simple.

Yes he did do that. A documentary and a book. Saying he was neglected and abandoned by his parents. And more

No, he didn't tell Omid Scobie anything. His Omid was Jonathon Dimbleby

Charles really said let me evict my prodigal son for an accused rapist 😎

@tatalan
So if they apply for credit or a job of any kind in the US, they will likely see a question:
"Have you ever been evicted?"
Do you believe that legally they must now answer YES to this question?

They were evicted, they leased and paid rent. Simple.

A PP linked something from June 2021, about the terms for paying renovation costs including that the onwards lease was for 18months.

That has expired, and they have already stayed on a couple of months (with no word about further rent being paid). Also a poster has said (but not sourced) that they are not expected to leave before the coronation. So that means they'll have had the full lease on the original terms, plus a further 5-6 months free.

I think so!

Of course it isn't an eviction. That word has been used to spawn headlines. "asking to vacate" wouldn't quite have the same ring to it, would it?

Why not? Andrew got £12 million to pay off a woman he claimed to have never met 😉

Pretty much the same outcome 😅

Slightly off topic but why is it referred to as a cottage? I thought a cottage was a small cosy house. Frogmore had 10 bedrooms when it was first built. I would call that a mansion! After their 2.4 million renovation it now has 5 bedrooms, a nursery and a yoga room as well as kitchen, reception rooms etc.

tatalan · 02/03/2023 14:09

I think Harry and Meghan should fly in with a camera crew to pack their bags tbh 😂

It is not an eviction ffs! The legal definition is quite clear about what eviction is:

eviction occurs when a landlord or another person deprives a residential occupier of their occupation of the property without following the correct legal process.[
A residential occupier is defined as ‘a person occupying the premises as a residence

They are not residing in Frogmore, there residence is in the USA. Therefore they are not being evicted from Frogmore

To distinguish it from Frogmore House, which is substantially larger.

I suppose it could have had a totally different name, but isn't that bit of the Park meant to be froggy/boggy?

By royal standards its very much a cottage, even with 10 beds lol

As an aside, Meghan looked great in the photos.

A botox brow lift always woks wonders but she should have let it settle down a bit more before stepping out again as it is still quite 'high'.

Botulinum toxin does not lift brows

Honestly..who the f cares??

They're not being out on the street, metaphorically or otherwise.

It's a property they haven't used in years.

It is not some great tragedy.

Some people like to downgrade Meghan’s acting career. If you look at her film and tv work history you see she was a regularly working actress, and that’s not easy to achieve.

She’s very animated, and has a beautiful smile. And she has an aura of boundless energy, and as having a mind hungry for knowledge. There is something quite lovely about her. And it comes across in photos and interviews, imo.

I’m not into comparing woman. I think Kate is lovely too. In fact, the Royal men are very good at picking smart, and lovely, women as their wives. Thank heavens. The royal gene pool needed it.

@purpledalmation asks why Meghan's star quality was not so much in evidence until she met Harry?

It's simple.

She was number 6 on the call sheet of a cable show. She had a lifestyle blog, did speeches wrote a few articles. Modest success as an actress, yes.

And yet, when she joined the royal family, everything she did, all the D list, Z list things, she did with far more charisma, personality and creativity than Charles, William, Camilla and Kate, Sophie or Edward. She has more charisma than the six of them put together.

I know its exasperating to think that a D or Z list actress gave such adrenaline to a 1000 year institution. But it says a lot that a D or Z list actress is more charismatic than the six most senior royals.

It's very simple.

It's what happens when you create a situation based on primogeniture, who is born first, and not who is right for the job. Add to this the entitlement that because X is ranked number 3 or 4, there is no need to even study to be better at the job, No continuing education, no public speaking lessons, no diversity training. Just weird protocols and gossip and backbiting and worrying about who curtsies to who.

So here's the thing: D list or Z list Meghan exposed the Royal Family for the moribund stuck in the mud institution it is with petty minded people obsessed wit rank and headlines.

It is embarrassing for Britain that this Number Six on the Call Sheet D or z list actress was more charismatic than those born to the role. If she had really wanted the job, there would have been no stopping her. So it's very very good for the Remainers that she left. They just did not expect that the only born royal with any charisma or personality than all of them, Harry, would go with her too.

tatalan · 02/03/2023 14:19

This eviction is the perfect excuse for Harry and Meghan to skip the coronation.

Agree or disagree?

She has more charisma than the six of them put together. Where you see charisma I see insincerity. I cannot unsee it. We have a constitutional monarchy which continues with or without charisma.
