The royal family

It is great how Kate is embracing her role as the People's Princess and carrying on Diana's legacy

Since she became POW, she seems to have a new confidence and people up and down the country seem to just adore her. If she is having an off day, she never lets it show. She is always smiling and joking and her spontaneous comment to her old history teacher really show her to be a nice, modest person and the best thing that happened to the RF.

Whatever your stance on the monarchy this a young mother with the eyes of the world on her every move and word. I’d like to see how some of the cynical posters on this thread would cope with that. Kate is exemplary and the RF is lucky to have her.

The "eyes of the world" are not "on her every move". Rupert Murdoch's British Press and a sprinkle of others perhaps and only when her press secretaries, hair dresser, makeup artist, ladies in waiting, nannies, chauffeurs etc are all lined up for the handful of pre-planned engagements and photo ops.

If the job is so hard then they should give it up put the posts up as vacancies and apply for a real job in the real world! What nonsense!

I think with the queen gone, a lot of the stuffiness has gone too and Kate and William can be more themselves and less sticklers for 'protocol'. It'll take a while for Charles to shake up the monarchy, but it needs to be in the 21st century.

Absolutely. Have Camilla's children play roles in the coronation.

What an awesome first born son William is. Diana will be so proud. He did it for the country!

HedwigIsMyDemon · 28/02/2023 05:59

@UWhatNow I’d happily give it a go 😄. She married into the RF - it was a life she actively chose, so I’ll save my tiny violin for people far more deserving.

Back to the topic at hand - I think that Kate is doing well at what she needs to be doing and hope her early years initiatives progresses to the point it gets more teeth. I’m not sure that comparing her to Diana helps her - there is a lot of mythologising when it comes to Diana and in “sainting” Kate, people can set her up for a fall should an event occur which shows that she is inevitably human.

Why do these threads always have to revert to Meghan (usually to criticise her too)? I thought this thread was all about heroine worship of the perfect Kate, as per the opening post?

Personally it would be nice to see her actually achieve something - but so far, nothing. Early years introduction a few weeks ago, and as usual nothing followed through. Not the sharpest, sadly - despite that first class education. But she obviously impresses masses of people.

I think the monarchy is now on a downward spiral with the Queen's passing - and with Harry and Meghan going they missed a huge opportunity to make themselves relevant to the younger generation. Their work was superb - Invictus, Sentabale, Meghan's Grenfell Tower cookbook. She has a work ethic that outshone Kate and personally I believe there was a lot of jealousy at play on Kate's part. Yes, of course Kate is higher in the hierarchy but certainly not as either professional, charismatic or as natural a speaker as Meghan. Anyway now they're gone Kate and William have had to try and up their game and do more engagements - be careful what you wish for!!!!!

So predictable isn't it !!

Less stuffy ? are you joking ?!

I went to look up who the anonymous BLM activist was - Imran Ayton.

Here she is calling the Queen racist

vm.tiktok.com/ZMYUH4tpG/

Here she is calling Lady Hussey racist

vm.tiktok.com/ZMYUHgH53/

Here she is describing unconscious bias

vm.tiktok.com/ZMYUHpDSK/

And finally here is where she calls them liars

vm.tiktok.com/ZMYU9Nyvy/

Just for context

Just for context she called piers Morgan (yea, I know!) a racist because he refused to believe the claims made by Meghan on Oprah, that Archie wouldn't get a title and security if he was too brown. A statement which was an out and out lie.

So anyone (white) who doesn't believe Meghan is a racist.

She also said on piers Morgan that she apologised, she accepted she was wrong and said yes, both of them were liars. She called them liars!

She accepted people like them using racism illegitimately damages genuine BLM issues, which is stating the bleeding obvious, but M&H monetised these issues and thought it was the ticket to popularity in America, but Americans believe you don't disrespect your family. Bit of a misstep there.

purpledalmation · 28/02/2023 08:32

@skullbabe Just for context and to save you the bother in future, ms Ayton calls everyone white a racist.

Kate and William are naturally formal types of people.

purpledalmation · 28/02/2023 10:03

@OutofEverything They both have a job to do with the same rules on formality as many other jobs. I wouldn't expect my solicitor to hug me at any point. Or the kids teachers.

They do hug people they are familiar with like kate's old teachers. So stuffy is a meaningless term.

Kate scrubs up well and does as she's told. I'm suspect she may have gone through "Stepford Wife" brainwashing ans they've changed the programe a little.

Plitvice · 28/02/2023 10:16

There is very little material difference between Kate, Jacinda, Rania, Letizia. They all have the same glossy hair, perfect teeth, tiny figures, friendly greeting like they come from the same AI facility!

skullbabe · 28/02/2023 10:16

Just skipped past the point - noted.

You're a feminist then? Attacking a woman for her appearance and behaviour. Classy.
