The royal family

It is great how Kate is embracing her role as the People's Princess and carrying on Diana's legacy

Since she became POW, she seems to have a new confidence and people up and down the country seem to just adore her. If she is having an off day, she never lets it show. She is always smiling and joking and her spontaneous comment to her old history teacher really show her to be a nice, modest person and the best thing that happened to the RF.

Hi Carole!

VladmirsPoutine · 22/02/2023 20:40

She's a great example to women. 3 kids, all immaculately turned out, she never has a hair out of place and travels up and down the country tirelessly. An example of the what the modern woman should be like!

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 22/02/2023 20:41

Adore her?!

I find her bone crushingly boring, dull and bland.

PillBoxes · 22/02/2023 20:42

My irony meter is on high alert here!

Is this satire?!

Having not a hair out of place = role model?

Being driven about the county = role model?

And as IF she gets the kids ready in the morning!

But I think you’re yanking our chain! 😉

TheSnowyOwl · 22/02/2023 20:45

In my opinion neither were/are a People’s Princess.

VladmirsPoutine · 22/02/2023 20:46

@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen Kate sets such a perfect example to us women of what we should aspire to be. Imagine having 3 young children yet always managing to be so well put together. Really puts a lot of us to shame. And she makes time for her husband!

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 22/02/2023 20:47

Apparently she's very flatulent.

Woman is good at her job. Groundbreaking!

Nice to know she is appreciated

pinkpigletjoe · 22/02/2023 20:53

I think with the queen gone, a lot of the stuffiness has gone too and Kate and William can be more themselves and less sticklers for 'protocol'. It'll take a while for Charles to shake up the monarchy, but it needs to be in the 21st century.

StrawberryAnnie · 22/02/2023 20:54

You do know that the public appearances she makes are planned and co ordinated by a team of people?

They put the work in so that she can turn up and smile, chat to ‘the public’ for a short time, have photos taken, then be driven home. It’s not a tough gig.

"It" needs to be gone full stop. It is a living relic of the medieval overlordship of the serfs and peasants.

The Government of the day might be useless but they can be voted out, however we cannot do anything about the endless flow of successors to title and privilege in the RF.

HermioneWeasley · 22/02/2023 21:00

Oh please. Diana was a one off. She embraced controversial issues and made a difference on a number of topics.

kate is completely bland.

noodlezoodle · 22/02/2023 21:00

I take it you don't remember how the press talked about Diana before she died OP, because I can assure it did not involve gushing about how she was the people's princess...

But I don't want to be like that??

I love it when my DS dresses himself and ends up with absolutely barmy clothing combinations. He's only 6. He's done this for years.
I don't even make that much effort myself because my outside doesnt matter that much to me.

HoleyShit · 22/02/2023 21:07

I don't see what she does as being a job tbh. She's fine, but not someone who should be put on a pedestal.

Is she though?

How many women strive so high for this perfect appearance she portrays and fall short in their own eyes? And for discussion purposes only as I am not saying this about her, how is the image she portrays any different than an air brushed model on the cover a magazine?

IMO, Prince Louis having a meltdown in front of the world at a concert shows other women of the world that she is just like us, a working mother who is doing her best and, on some days, feeling like we failed. I think she is more of example when she trips on the red carpet (I haven't seen that video yet, just heard about it today on MN) because that is legit something I would do. Because that is real life.

I think Catherine appears wonderful at her job, but I do not know her so I cant say either way. I love her photography because I am an photographer, so that stands out to me.

She obviously loves William. She appears to be a hands on mom and loves her children. She seems very excited about early childhood and uses her profile to help spread the word about the importance of early childhood. I like that about her.

Bloody hell @MNHQ you delete a scurrilous and pretty well known bit of gossip on a ridiculous and fawning thread?!

Blimey.

Millicentmargaretamandaholden · 22/02/2023 21:11

I’m going to enjoy this thread. Thanks to OP and those playing along for a laugh.

“knocking down a peg“ bit crude (but I like it!)

Bugger all connections to Wales.

Vladamirs post is tongue in cheek. My response made it clear but it got deleted 🤷🏻‍♀️
