My opinion? Samantha is an ass who purposely humiliated Meghan, every chance she got. I hope they throw out the case and reprimand Samantha+ her attorney for being grifters and wasting the court's time.

Wow. Also, do the family actually refer to her as “Fergie”? Meghan did on Netflix.

There's so much to wonder about over the Hunter - Joe Biden business affairs. Hunter tells,so many lies, it's hard to figure your way through it all. I don't know if they'll ever get a case to stick against him.
I don't really go in for commenting on family members of politicians because politicians aren't responsible for the actions of other adults. But when people make out that Hunter is a just a hapless bystander in his own life and we should feel sorry for him, I find that a bit much. He's a totally unpleasant individual who behaves without respect or consideration to those around him despite the huge privileges he's received.

The media in the US went after Trump's family in a big way, even implying that he had an incestuous relationship with Ivanka, but it seems when it's a different political party, it's different rules. Surely all presidents and their families should be treated equally, regardless of where your politics lie.

@MarshaMelrose I am afraid we have come to a time where very few respectable people would run for office in the US due to how they are treated. Mitt Romney comes to mind. I never liked him much politically but thought he was made a complete laughing stock. Ditto GWB.

We can’t talk about Biden or his family realistically. Can’t talk about what’s really happening with John Fetterman, either.

and so we end up with someone insane , nasty and corrupt like Trump running against someone in cognitive decline with a very dicey family like Biden. These are not good choices!

I think social media is the big problem. No human being can ever live the perfect life expected by keyboard warriors who live a far from perfect life themselves. It seems like any transgression is made into something huge, and exaggerations and lies are manufactured and repeated as truths. You really need to have such extraordinary self-esteem and the hide of a rhino to withstand the pressure. Eventually, we'll just end up with a stream of Trumps that just don't care what people say about them.

Agree. I’m worried that we will end up with far worse than Trump though. Constant, toxic, unrealistic demands for perfection can only ever end with good, mentally healthy people giving up trying to do right and leaving the frame. Once that happens who is left? Or who takes sees the chance for advantage and seizes the power…?

Agree with everything you’ve both written. But I think it started long before SM and we are already in the position of no healthy, honest people wanting to engage.

The two party system is not working. The wolves are running the henhouse. These folks will never pass campaign finance reform, never create term limits. I just don’t see how things get better from here.

Glad to hear this. I don't understand why Samantha was suing Meghan for Finding Freedom, and not the actual author/publisher of the book? Sounds like Sam wanted to get at Meghan any way she could, but why did her lawyers go ahead with that? It's ridiculous and was rightly dismissed.

Yes, I've read something about this too.Why doesn't Meghan just disown the Markles completely, I bloody would.

But Meghan did lie about Samantha. They clearly didn't like each other and both are deeply unpleasant people, but this civil case was frivolous and weak. Meghan however has better lawyers and and clout.

@michaelmacrae Well she only speaks to Samantha's daughter, so she's excluded virtually all the markles and all her mothers side of the family apart from her mother. That's pretty good going.

Whoever is financially backing SM clearly don't have her interest at heart. She is being used to discredit Meghan.

Samantha would not have gone ahead if she was paying from her own pocket so from her point of view at least financially she had nothing to lose.

I believe she will be back with something else but at some point her funders will be exposed.

Meghan cut her family out when she realised they didn't fit the image she wanted for herself, she was particularly ruthless with her elderly dad who, by all accounts, spoilt her rotten and doted in her growing up.

On the other hand Samantha didn't appear to be proud of Megan's success or happy when she married well, just bitter and jealous and wanted to personally benefit some way.

I think if the roles were reversed and Samantha was the duster with all the beauty and success, the outcome would be the exactly same.

"Buzzfed News analysis". Thats not an analysis company. That's just Buzzfeed looking at tweets. It's full of apparently and suggests. There's nothing proven. It has no tangible evidence or statistics provided. It says SM apparently has various accounts. So they're not even certain of that. And if she does, that could be 3. Lots of people have more than one account on Twitter. All they say for certain is that she's said nasty things about MM from her own account. Well, that's a shocker. Buzzfeed at its best!

As for her Dad he also seemed to want to cash in on her too. So no wonder she cut them out. Bear in mind, we don't know all the things that was said between them behind the scenes leading up to the situation. And parents who pay for private school don't automatically = good parents. Perhaps he is toxic in other ways. We don't know ALL the actual reasons she cut him out.
