My opinion? Samantha is an ass who purposely humiliated Meghan, every chance she got. I hope they throw out the case and reprimand Samantha+ her attorney for being grifters and wasting the court's time.

Trailer trash is a derogatory term for poor people who live in trailers - it particularly is used for white people who live as such. Inherent in calling people trailer trash is that white people aren’t naturally trash but other people are. It took a white southerner pushing back on my (British black) use of the term many years ago for me to think it through. It’s best not to use.

I’m surprised the RF ever allowed a high-profile family member to marry someone from such an unsuitable and unpleasant family - presumably they did some due diligence? Various relatives were making a spectacle of themselves and a mockery of the royals before the wedding even took place and Meghan’s behaviour since has confirmed that the apple hasn’t fallen far from the proverbial tree.

I think we're well past the days of royals having to marry someone "suitable".
In these days of world travel and, particularly, the internet everybody can meet a far larger range of people.
And the royals should be free to marry for love the same as everyone else.
Imo, Charles and Diana were the last semi-arranged match - she was a very suitable "gel", but that didn't turn out well either.

Who knows what Alexandra, wife of Edward VII, might have had to say, given access to reporters, television and the internet?

Many people speculated about Meghan’s unsuitability to marry into the RF and were shouted down as ‘racists’. If anything, it’s the paternal (white) side that was brimming with red flags. And the naysayers have been soundly vindicated by subsequent events.

Would they have had much say in the matter with Harry and his tantrums? Their due diligence would have thrown up the red flags.

She wasn't nice as pie before the wedding. She was already offending people L,R and C. The proof of the incompatibility is everything happening since.

The best they could do was to scrub stories of her from the internet so that nobody would find out the worst stuff.

I never thought about it that way.

I stopped making any reference to trailer parks after learning a good friend had lived in one for a time during his childhood. Before that it was just an abstract thing to me. “Welcome to the trailer park” was something we would say when something seemed “trashy”.

Someone called me trashy as a child. “Hey Laura, that trashy little <my last name> girl is on the phone.” I was probably 11 years old.

People aren’t trash.

Geez, I hope they don’t find posts here to try and prove the point. Nothing Meghan said about Samantha caused me to form my opinion of her. It was all her own behavior.

Well posters are repeating Meghan’s claims on here as fact.

Sam could win the case on the basis that Meghan’s claims weren’t true, but fail to receive damages as she has trashed her own reputation with her Twitter claims.

I must admit one Markle I did feel sorry for was her uncle who got her the internship. He did end up living in a trailer park and was quietly disappointed not the make the wedding. He died afterwards.

Which claims were untrue and probable?

Its so stupid this has even made it to court, honestly.

From childhood Samantha has been jealous of Meghan, who was daddy's little princess. Doria didn't much like having the stepchildren living with her, and Samantha's mother was allegedly not a good mother.

She seems quite a dislikable person but I'm interested in this case going forward, as, so far, she will have been the only person actually able to hold Meghan to account for her words.

I don’t think Meghan was “unsuitable” - in fact she seemed eminently suitable. I remember thinking that she seemed a great choice.

What was the trouble was her personality . I think any other actress, American, woc or indeed all three (like Meghan) would have behaved better, in that they would have given things more of a go, not been so greedy and definitely not had such a high opinion of themselves.

But any other woman would have headed for the hills.

Looking at the picture, Sam’s surname is clearly Markle on her diploma, so Meghan’s assertion that Meghan changed her surname once Meghan started dating Harry seems untrue as this photo predates her relationship.

That was a few surgeries ago. They actually looked like sisters back then!

I'm beginning to have some sympathy for Samantha than I had initially. I think she's massively jealous of Meghan and quite a toxic person, but she had an appalling childhood with two feckless parents. She then went on to live with her stepmother Doria and they clearly didn't get on, and saw her father, who left them with her awful mother, doting, spoiling and worshiping the young Meghan. Samantha was the one not given everything and, despite meghans claims of poverty, endured some hard times. Then diagnosed with multiple sclerosis quite young must have been very hard.

Life is never black and white, and even Meghan has her good points. Is Samantha right to want to set the record straight and kick back at dishonest claims and statements about her children's fathers? She's doing it for money clearly, but meghans claims of her poor childhood and her 'toxic' family are also money driven.

Jury's out for me now.

Oh and I'm sure the M&H expensive PR machine have done their best to discredit Samantha (although she does a pretty good job herself).

Sammantha is madly jealous of Meghan - Meghan had private school, expensive college (without huge student loans so she was able to pursue an acting career), great looks, well paying career and marrying a prince.

Meghan should have realised this and not resorted to spiteful barbs which showed her in a really bad light.

look at bill Clinton and his dodgy brother and Biden’s son (who I kind of feel sorry for). They are accepted by their family despite their flaws.
