Archbishop of Canterbury get Harry to attend Coronation

The Mail on Sunday are claiming that Charles has asked the Archbishop to talk to Harry to get him to attend the Coronation. But William is against this as he fears the Sussex's will detract from the Coronation.

"Harry could be guaranteed a high-profile seating position in the Abbey or an informal assurance that he will be able to keep his titles as an inducement to attend. However, William fears that unless Harry’s visit is tightly scripted, he could steal the limelight by, for example, going on a walkabout in a deprived London borough with Meghan."

Could you quote which ones in particular? Educate those of us who aren’t seeing it?

You mean like Zara and Tindall also did at the Queen's lying in state?

Yep, and they shouldn't have done it either.

Meghan is very popular amongst black people. She would be very welcomed in some London boroughs.

So that's what the op post meant! 😅 I really try to keep out these threads but the jokes are just too much.

Sisterhood is powerful. I support Meghan because I am a black woman, and I like her, and I have to confess that it amuses me t to see the apoplexy she causes in Piers Morgan, Dan Wooton, Jeremy Clarkson and Nigel Farage. Anyone who can enrage that quartet so consistently will always have my back!

Yes!👏

I raise you another 🍸

You are my new favourite poster.😁

The hypocrisy of the whole thing is amusing: the whole "God anoints the monarch" and God wants a man and woman to marry for life so God does not want same sex marriage in the Church of England, but God is also okay to have this adulterous king and his adulterous mistress anointed and crowned in the Church of England and become its head because they and only they have been chosen by God.

Other European Royals don't need the bells and whistles of coronations. Because they have written constitutions, making provision for monarchies as head of state. Not this archaic stuff a King appointed by the God of a church that the majority of his subjects no longer believe in, at the tope of a "Royal Family" that operates not transparently and professionally but through back biting, gossip and counter briefings like it's still a medieval court and there is real power at stake.

It's a con. I love Meghan and Harry because they expose it while lighting it up and making it a more fun soap opera for some of us. With dazzling smiles and nice clothes.

I think when you sell/lose your real power to rule and the only thing left with is a name and the church, that's what you end up with.

Viviennemary · 30/01/2023 22:51

They could always have the real ceremony in private in the back garden the day before same as they said they did for their wedding.

Coronateachingagain · 30/01/2023 23:12

God doesn't anoint the monarch ? Where did you get that from other than history books. Monarch is the head of the church. And we now have a monarch that is open to other religions too. I am not a monarchist and they will change and go in time but still can recognise that and don't need old statements to get things back to the place I like.

@BellasBench

Given his admitted weak grasp on the history of his own family, I can see him sipping tequila and just pointing out people: that's the archbishop, he married us, ... twice! etc etc.

It would be a riot😃

😁😁😁 Very good. 😅

He's the 2 for 1 AB of C. Say what you like about the C of E, it's excellent value.

So Charles is unable to pick up the phone to his own son

A son who has been very restrained in the book the 'royals' were all quaking in their boots over

A son who has, if anything , been quite understanding of his father

What a deeply dysfunctional 'king'

He can't phone.because he'll be recorded for further broadcast. Also he would be treated to hours of discussion about Harry's truth and then there's the whining, the endless bloody whining...

The RF together with the BM have worked hard to plant negative stories and uncountable lies against H&M in the biggest media platforms in the country. William, Kate, Charles and Camilla are threatened by the good nature, skills, talents and experience of Harry and Meghan who quite frankly is over qualified for the RF.

Only if the quartet see it as beneficial to themselves will they invite the star couple!

I hope Harry will insist on a pu lic apology before accepting such invite.

AI says we don't get a look in .

Should prince harry go to the coronation ?

As an AI language model, I do not have personal opinions or the ability to make recommendations. The decision on whether Prince Harry should attend the coronation is a personal one that depends on a variety of factors, including his relationship with the Royal Family and the circumstances surrounding the event. The royal family, Prince Harry, and the British government are best positioned to make decisions regarding the coronation and any related matters.

derxa · 31/01/2023 08:13

Rhondaa · 31/01/2023 08:20

Of course he'll attend, Harry needs ro retain some kind of relevance for his US sponsors and enablers.

He needs to sign a NDA though or else every utterance will be in 'Poor Me volume 20'.

EdithWeston · 31/01/2023 08:53

What are the planted stories?

I'm seeing no new info, and lots of the usual commentators speculating wildly.

Yes there's considerable nosiness about whether they'll attend the Coronation, but apart from Harry's "the ball is in their Court" I don't really see anything that is sourced.

Harry's bluff (if that is what it is) is being called. I can't see how he won't be invited. But he was wrong to try to weaponise how he RSVPs

MrsMaxDeWinter · 31/01/2023 11:13

@Delectable

I agree that Meghan is WAY overqualified to be in the Royal Family.

You can mock Meghan's acting career, but there is no question that she was a hard worker, and a determined and ambitious woman. Always amuses me that she is called a gold-digger but is the only person to have entered the royal family as a millionaire in her own right.

And if we believe the "Megxit" narrative that she is the calculating minx behind everything Harry, all kudos to her, because damn, she has upgraded that man.😀

ThroughTheSnow · 31/01/2023 11:39

@Ridemeginger
The Arch Bish will meet with Hazza and Megs a couple of days beforehand. Subsequently, they will reveal that he crowned them the People's King and Queen, in a private garden ceremony behind a pub in Wiltshire.

😂😂Very good!

Meghan over qualified for the RF? What qualifications were needed to join, other than coupling with a prince?

All we know is she didn't get the job done and didn't hang around. Meghan is not exactly sophisticated. She is however fiercely ambitious. Let's see where she will steer the Sussex ship.

Oh Max. You are funny.

A 'millionaire in her own right' who was wanging about buying an IKEA sofa on credit whole nasty horrid Kate and Willy were living in luxury.

Another one of their tall tales..

Hard to decide which bit of this is the most ridiculous - my favourites are good nature and over qualified 😂

Which of Meghan's qualifications do you think make her over qualified?
